Last One Alive" by Charlie Gallagher is a gripping thriller that had me hooked from the very beginning. Despite being the seventh book in a series, I found it surprisingly easy to follow along with the plot, which is a testament to Gallagher's skill as a writer.
The story follows Detective George Elms as he investigates a series of brutal murders in a small town. As the body count rises, Elms must race against time to catch the killer before they strike again.
What I loved most about this book was the fast-paced nature of the plot. There were so many twists and turns that I found myself unable to put it down, eager to find out what would happen next. Gallagher does a fantastic job of building suspense and keeping the reader on the edge of their seat.
Overall, "Last One Alive" is a thrilling read that will keep you guessing until the very end. Whether you're a fan of the series or new to Gallagher's work, this book is sure to keep you entertained.
This was an intense whirlwind of a story filled with twist and turns and mind blowing situations!! I was one the edge of my seat throughout the whole thing
Last One Alive was an interesting story. It kept my interest for sure.
However, there were many times I had to read a bit into a chapter to see who I was reading about. I think the chapters could have been labeled a bit better.
Having said that I do like this author and will ready more for sure.
Thank you Netgalley and Joffe Books for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
"Last One Alive" by Charlie Gallagher is apart of the Maddie Ivies series all about this detective investigating this specific gruesome case that takes place at dual times.
I would give "Last One Alive" by Charlie Gallagher a 1 star review because, while the description was interesting actually reading it made me realize it was apart of a series and I couldn't get into the writing or book.
Another intense, complex, and suspenseful thriller with many unexpected twists and turns.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
another good addition to the series . It was a lot slower than others in the series so not as gripping. Loving the new addition to the team and the reoccurrence of Harry ( please please please could Harry not ‘Growl’ as much it’s so annoying!!) looking forward to the next one
Great gripping read that kept me reading and hooked for hours!! Loved it and enjoyed the storyline as it was very unique
Gripping, terrifying read. Part of a series, but able to be read as a stand alone like I have done. Gruesome kidnappings and murders twenty years apart will have you on the edge of your seat as you try to figure out what will happen next. Told from differing viewpoints you get a full 360° view of some of what each person is experiencing and how the race against the clock is winding down. This book will leave you shaking with fear for the kidnapped victims, praying the police get it right and can get there in time and stunned by the actual violence involved.

Kept me awake most of the night as I just had to finish it. A great read… grabbed my attention from the first page… with each new revelation, I just kept wanting to turn the pages… I highly recommend this book
OMG. Another gripping Gallagher book. Love his writing style as it draws you in and makes you keep wanting to read till the end in one sitting.
Girls are going missing in the same way that some did just over 20 years ago.
Maddie is desperate to find them in time and enlists old friend and former colleague Charles in to help.
Great read. Edge of your seat the whole way through. Highly recommend anything Charlie Gallagher has written.
I was really interested in this book and it grew as I read it, wondering who was kidnapping these people. Unfortunately it expired before I finished it, but it held my attention.. I had a feeling the wrong person was killed as the murderer…have to wait til it’s available to finish.
Thank you for the opportunity to preview Last one Alive.
Police procedural series with great female lead.
Fans will like it.

As a Folkestone resident I love reading Charlie Gallagher’s books. ‘Last One Alive’ is another addition to the Maddie Ives series and a large section of the book is set on the Old High Street. A few geographical details have been changed, but I found myself wondering exactly what nightclub The Ugly Sisters was based on…
Another great read.
One of the best books I have read this year! I didn't want to stop reading it, did finish in 2 days! It was everything I look for in a mystery/thriller. Loved the characters stories, well played out!
Although I'm not a big fan of police procedural books I really enjoyed the plot of this book. It was very unique and I was pleasantly surprised by the ending. I didn't see it coming. I would recommend this book to other readers.
A gripping read. i have dipped in and out of the Maddie Ives series but I didn't feel that I missed out having not read them all. It is a chilling, scary read and the dual timeline adds to that I feel.
How scary a situation to find yourself in. A current mystery of 2 disappearing young ladies and a disappearance and a murder linked by 20years apart but who is the murderer and what happened.
I did enjoy this book, picking up with Maddie Ives again on her investigation,.
Love living in the area that Charlie always mentions in his books.
Thank you to Netgalley, Joffe books and Charlie Gallagher for an ARC in return for an honest review
I really tried to like this one but, as I hadn’t read the others in this series I found it difficult to get through it. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
This is book 7 in the Maddie Ives series, if you read on its own it is still a good book but you will miss some back story. The previous novels in this series have been exceptional.
Last one alive is written from multiple perspectives and follows dual timelines over twenty years apart with an original and copycat killer.
The multiple perspectives made this a little confusing to read at times and I don’t think the book was as good as it’s predecessors. However, I usually love this authors writing style so still look forward to book 8.
A truly horrifying thriller which kept me up at night. The possible abduction of a young woman has echoes of past murders and the murderer was never found. Could he be back?
