Making the Deal by Shelby MacKenzie is a steamy romance with lots of spice. Rayna Raven, or Ray, is a by-the-book businesswoman, who makes clear decisions based on statistics and logic.

The book centers around Ray and Jax. They are meeting to examine a consolidation of their organizations, however they have a moment association with one another. Ray consents to meet at Jax's home, and keeping in mind that there, he kisses her. She rapidly goes out, and they consent to keep things proficient. Pressures proceed to rise, and they take their relationship to a higher level.

Jaxson McKells puts his business first, however he appreciates life, causing him to appear to be excessively confident. Ray and Jax meet to frame an arrangement between their two organizations. The arrangement isn't made as fast as Ray expected, and Jax demands screening Ray more before he consents to her terms. Ray accepts Jax is presumptuous, and despite the fact that she knows it's an impractical notion, she begins to yield to his advances. Something that ought to have been a simple consolidation turns out to be considerably more, as Ray and Jax fight their creating affections for one another and their clashing business sees.

From the get go, their sprouting sentiments were overseen similarly as their agreements were dealt with, and neither one of them needed to concede that their affections for the other one was moving past the sexual strain all around them. . I loved the way Rayna and Jax's relationship created. Their science is magma hot and their association is exceptional. This book made them hang off its pages. I just completed this book in under a day, I was unable to remain away.

Hot circumstances and first sexual experiences can be hot and hot, and Shelby MacKenzie doesn't frustrate her perusers! The sentiment among Ray and Jax isn't the main intriguing piece of the plot, as the creator fabricates her story by including the difficulties of her optional characters, also. Shelby MacKenzie's story made them turn each page and keen on the fire among Jax and Beam! I prescribe Making the Deal to develop readers who appreciate sentiments with heat areas of strength for and characters.

I got an ARC for this book from NetGalley and the publisher in return for an honest review.

Hey there, fellow bookworms! 📚 So, let me spill the beans on this read called "Making the Deal." It's like, about Ray and Jax, who are all about merging their businesses, but whoa, hold your horses! The plot thickens, and suddenly, the tension between them isn't just business-related—it's like, real feelings and stuff! 😱 Next thing you know, they're not just business buds, they're an item! Um, yeah, it's a bit confusing to explain, but stick with me, okay? I promise there's some good stuff in this review!

So, like, this book is totally a quickie. Like, you'll breeze through it faster than you can say "office romance." 💨 But here's the scoop: it could've been even better if it slowed down a smidge. 'Cause honestly, I felt like there were some pieces missing from the puzzle. I had to use my imagination muscles to fill in the gaps! 🧩 The plot sounds rad, but it's like it's only scratching the surface, ya know?

Now, let's talk about that kiss scene. Sure, I get the whole instant attraction thing (especially the physical vibes), but whoa, pump the brakes! 😬 It felt a bit iffy since it wasn't exactly consensual. But hey, curiosity got the best of me, so I powered through. And can we talk about the name-dropping? It's like, chillax with the references, okay? We get it!

Oh, and don't even get me started on the characters! Ray and Jax? Adorbs! 🥰 Their work ethics are on point! But hey, why stop there? There's so much potential to dive deeper into their friendships and biz partnerships. And speaking of questionable moves, who in their right mind would trust a total stranger to babysit their drunk sibling? 🤔 Seriously, bro, not cool!

Overall, "Making the Deal" has major potential! 🌟 It just needs a little extra love and attention to really shine.

This is a new author for me and I will definitely check out more of her work.

Making the Deal is a strong start to this series !

Rayna and Jaxon are explosive together - their chemistry is instantaneous!

This was a DNF from me. I wanted to stick with it but it was kind of all over the place, too much legal jargon, not interesting enough characters, just couldn’t get into it.

Unfortunately I had to dnf this one after 58%. I wanted to read it but just couldn't. The story had so much potential but I didn't fell for it at all. I struggled a lot getting in this story. I just couldn't...

I’m not sure what happened with the spacing of this book. But it did cause me to have a hard time reading this book. I’m not sure if it happened during downloading or not but I couldn’t finish the book because of it. Also what I did read was very rough. Although it does have some potential

Oof, where to start ... I think this book has potential, but it also has a lot of problems. The pacing is all wrong, there's a lot of focus on legal minutiae that isn't necessary, and there are so many sex scenes that they cease to be spicy and end up being overkill.

There isn't enough of a complicating incident, and I don't really care about the characters. It feels like a story written around the sex scenes. It's not enough to carry the story.

I don't think I'm interested in reading anything else in this series, although I learned enough to be curious about the relationship possibilities between her best friend and her brother; for me, they were the most interesting part of the book. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that the author won't do it justice.

As a non-native of English, I found it really difficult to follow all the law terms in the beginning.

I usually don’t like to DNF a book, I try to resist until the end but I couldn’t continue to read this one, I read like 25% and had to stop. The two main characters fell in love with each other from like the first page, which is something I really hate in a book; and besides they were annoying af.

I read the ARC provided by the author and will give an honest review.
I feel like in the first few chapters, Rayna and Jax had a lot of potential and there was evident chemistry and sexual tension. However I feel like it was a very very fastburn and we did not actually feel their emotional connection or intimacy. Ray and Jax’s bond was strongly only through lust and for me, they were not that much of a couple. If they were not rivals at work I feel like Jax would not be as intrigued and I also feel like he only wanted her because she was “feisty” and hot.
IDK, did not feel the vibe with this one…

I finished this book very quickly, in like 2 hours. I ate it up and it was a quick, easy, and fun read. The story was fun to read and I liked the fact that it was short and sweet.

This one was rough. I try to stick it out but the spaceyness alone caused it to be a DNF.

For some reason I find Jax really annoying. I stopped reading at 16%. DNF

Thanks to NetGalley for the eARC.

This one fell reallllllly short for me. I did not enjoy it and had to work to not just DNF. Unfortunately felt rushed and confusing.

This book felt unfinished. Like it skipped over editing all together. The dialog between characters was awkward and cringy with how often they said each other’s names in conversation. The story was hard to follow and didn’t really make sense. I thought this was supposed to be an emeries to lovers workplace romance but I feel like it was more insta love. Just don’t understand what was going on. I DNF’d at about 30%.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review "Making the Deal." I don't really understand the description in relation to this book. It says it is an enemies to romance book, but it seems one sided according to the male and female perspectives. There is a clear attraction from Jax's point of view from the beginning. The book also doesn't flow very well, it kind of reads like fanfiction or an amateur author. I found it difficult to keep reading as the story progressed and it was a tad boring.

Once I start a book I have to see it through, but this one was tempting to DNF. While the overall story was great, the dialogue was lacking for me. The characters are constantly saying each other's names when speaking, which is not typical of real conversations. It ruined the book for me unfortunately.

I received an advanced review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.
