I received this ARC from Netgalley and the publishers in exchange for an honest review. This is the fourth in the K Team Novels series. I really enjoy Rosenfelt’s style of writing, his characters and his sense of humor which flows nicely throughout the story. I’ve enjoyed the Andy Carpenter series very much and this new series has also drawn me into a great crime/action story. Ex-cop, private investigator and Paterson PD consultant, Corey Douglas and his K Team (Laurie, Sam, Marcus and K9 partner, Simon) have been asked to investigate several cold cases. One of them involving a murdered police officer. While investigating this case, Corey almost gets killed twice but he is fortunate that he has his K9 partner Simon with him. The K-Team is getting close to solving two cold cases which are intertangled with each other. You will need to read this great book to find out what happens to Corey and his K-Team unit and do they actually solve these cold cases. I highly recommend picking up a copy.

Always an entertaining story with David Rosenfelt’s books! This one stars Corey Douglas and features Rosenfelt’s usual cast of characters with Laurie, Marcus, Sam, Andy and lots of canine friends. It also comes with his unique, laugh aloud humor. The mystery is more complex than usual but is an easy, delightful read.

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read this fun ARC.

In the fourth entry in the K Team series, the gang is working on another cold case for the Paterson, NJ police department, and it's a tough one. Private investigators Corey and Laurie, along with their support team, are investigating three suspicious deaths and find much more than they bargained for.

I enjoyed reading about their step-by-step process and was surprised by the twisty conclusion. If you read the author's outstanding, long-running Andy Carpenter Mystery series, you are already familiar with many of the players in this spinoff, and there's a welcome cameo by Andy himself. We also get to see Corey's ex-police dog, Simon Garfunkel, in action, which is a lot of fun--more, please. But hulking PI/bodyguard Marcus is underused this time around, and I miss Andy's snarky narration.

My thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books for the opportunity to read and provide an honest review of this book.

Good Dog, Bad Cop by David Rosenfelt was a quick read. The K Team is back!! The story held my interest, and I needed to keep reading well past my bedtime so that I could find out what would happen and how it all turned out.

I love the banker and relationships between the characters, how they each have their own set of skills, and how they play off each other.

I found it funny that Corey kept referring to marriage as M. I really like Dani. And who can resist Simon? I want to hug him and have him as my pet.

I love the cover. The only issue I had was that it sometimes got a little confusing keeping the suspects straight and how they tied together.

Overall, a good mystery, an enjoyable read with solid writing and great characters.

I would recommend this book and this author. A solid 4 out of 5 stars.

Corey and his partners have been hired by their local police department to solve "cold cases". This time they choose the unsolved murder of a police officer and subsequent murder of his wife and a retired police detective. They are sure they are connected but getting any proof outs their detecting skills to the test. Excellent!

I've been a fan of David Rosenfelt's books ever since I picked up the first one with a photo of a beautiful dog on the cover. That love affair continues with his K-Team series. A spin-off from the Andy Carpenter series, it features many of the same characters but with the focus on retired cop Corey Douglas and his also retired police dog Simon, no, make that Simon Garfunkel. Simon is a star in his own right.

While Corey doesn't have the same rapid fire, often in your face humor as Andy, his own humor is just as smart a$$ at times. That's very evident as the book nears its end and he confronts not just the bad guys but the government guys called in to cart away the guilty. Actually, we get to know Corey better and better with each book and it was fun to see the human side as well as the smart investigator determined to right wrongs. His relationship with girlfriend Dani is evolving and although he is determined not to rock the boat, the "M" word as he keeps calling it in his mind seems to be occupying more and more space. Just as Andy tends to talk things out with his beloved Golden Retriever Tara, Corey has lengthy discussions with Simon but, like Tara, Simon is one of those good listeners who offer no advice. True, he probably thinks his human is the slowest thing ever when Corey decides to take up running with Simon, but since Corey, so to speak, controls the treats, Simon tolerates him. So does Dani, who is easy to like.

Bottom line, although Rosenfelt always seems to toss in some complicated scheme that they wind up investigating, often involving national consequences and the Feds, for me it's always the characters that draw me back, both human and canine. Well, that and team member and surely Superman in disguise Marcus' amazing feats. Sam's a wizard at the computer (think master hacker disguised as mild-mannered accountant) and Laurie, team member and Andy's wife, is no slouch with a gun, as she demonstrates in this book, but they all marvel at Marcus.

Like dogs? Like action packed thrillers? Humor? Like interesting characters that will grow on you? Curious about how investigators work? Ever wanted to save the world? This one is for you. Lots of thrills and fun along the way, not to mention solutions that will make you wonder how the heck author David Rosenfelt comes up with this stuff.

Thanks #NetGalley and #StMartinsPress - #MinotaurBooks for letting me rub elbows with this amazing team (and their dogs) again. 5 stars from me and four paws up and a tail wag from my own furry wonder, Daisy.

One is always assured of an enjoyable read with a new David Rosenfelt novel and Good Dog, Bad Cop does not disappoint. The K Team is now engaged by the Paterson police department as private consultants to review and, hopefully, solve “cold cases” for them. The novel takes the reader to Chicago, Philadelphia, the mountains of New York State as well as towns surrounding Paterson, NJ. The writing, as usual, has many bits of humor and involves the usual cast of characters and dogs. The tribulations encountered in attempting to solve the cases are exciting as the bodies continue to pile up.

Fans of this genre will not be disappointed and I thank NetGalley and Minotaur Books for the opportunity to read and review this book prior to its publication.

I enjoyed this book. It has a solid plot. It keeps moving and there’s a lot of action. I liked the characters especially the dog, Simon. The ending is a bit convoluted but all the questions are answered. #GoofDogBadCop #NetGalley

This is the fourth book in Rosenfelt’s “K Team” series, a spinoff from the entertaining Andy Carpenter mystery series. Andy Carpenter is a very successful criminal defense attorney in Paterson, New Jersey, who only works when he gets roped into it, usually because a dog is somehow involved and Andy has a soft spot for dogs. Laurie, an ex-cop, is his wife. Laurie has now teamed up with a recently retired policeman from the Paterson force, Corey Douglas; his K-9 partner, Simon Garfunkel; and Marcus Clark, Laurie’s muscle, to form a private investigating team called the K Team.

In the previous book in the series, Citizen K-9, the Paterson New Jersey homicide department, headed by Andy’s friend Pete Stanton, asks the K Team to work for the department as consultants handling cold cases. They agreed, and successfully closed their first case. After Corey saw the next list of possible cases to tackle, he jumped at the chance to investigate the death of his former mentor, a cop named Jimmy Dietrich. Jimmy was allegedly involved in a murder-suicide along with Susan Avery, the wife of another cop - Danny Avery, who had been killed shortly before that. No one believed it wasn’t actually murder, but no one had been able to prove anything.

In the course of their investigation, the K Team discovers a nefarious plot that ends up involving the Department of Homeland Security. Of course they unravel it all, but not before Corey is involved in a number of life-threatening circumstances.

Evaluation: Rosenfelt continues to develop Corey into a distinctive character, and adding action for Simon, both of which are pluses. Andy plays the smallest role in this book so far, but is always there in the background, walking the dogs and buying pizzas for everyone. Corey, like Andy, is smart, funny, and dedicated to justice, even if he doesn’t come up to Andy’s level in any of those traits. The plots of these books can be complicated, but Rosenfelt manages to tie everything together neatly in ways readers can follow as the story unfolds.

David Rosenfelt is one of my favorite authors and I love his Andy Carpenter series. This K Team series brings in a lot of the same characters that that appear in that series in addition to K-9 dog Simon Garfunkel. The K Team investigate cold cases and this book they are trying to clear the name of a former cop. Loved this book and I highly recommend it.

David Rosenfelt and his books about the K-9 crew are always a delight for me. The dogs and folks who comprise this group always make me happy and I enjoy the mysteries that they solve.

Good Dog, Bad Cop involves solving a cold case in which two people were found dead, from drowning. While the mystery was not solved it did not stop the locals from whispering about the murder as a love match gone wrong - and a murder/suicide. Jimmy, the man in the couple, was important to the K-9 team so the chance to solve this and restore Jimmy's reputation is the goal of this book.

I like the books because there is enough mystery - but also relationships. They are engaging and I rarely see the end result prior to the end.

Enjoy!
