5+ Terrific Stars

This one just touched my heart from the very beginning, and I knew that it was going to become a favorite read. I’ve previously read two books from this author, so I eagerly grabbed this one when I had the chance.

I found this to be a unique structure and I am a huge fan of a book within a book. We first meet Alice when she’s young and exploring writing. A tragic life event leads to her writing an amazing debut novel. She’s rejected multiple times however until a young publicist plucks her book from the slush pile.

We next meet people who are touched by this amazing book and along the way we learn more about Alice’s book. Each of these chapters paints a full picture of someone who will be impacted by this book. There are characters of all ages from a teenager to a widower; and various professions -- a bookseller, a free diver, a struggling artist.

We are reminded that each reader gets something different out of the same book, a fascinating concept.
I loved the way this one came full circle; the individual stories are all connected and amount to a wholly wonderful book. This emotional book checked every one of my book boxes and I heartily recommend it. This one is definitely on my favorite list for 2023.

This book is an unbelievable read. It tells about ten lives, nine readers and one book. Each chapter feels like short stories. Knowing about how their lives can truly resemble from Alice Wein’s book “Theo”. I love when each chapter tells about each of the readers' lives and even reading the book.

I want to say thank you to the publishers at St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for a review.

It took me months to get through this book. I need to thank my friends from Goodreads who encouraged me to
set it aside and return to finish it a few months later, which I have have finally done. I had a very hard time with all of the characters, though I now understand what was happening, I am the validation that everyone reads a book from
their own frame of reference; from each of our own life experiences. Knowing what I now know, I can say that this book might not be for everyone. As a reader of Suspense / Thriller books I simply was not equipped to participate
in this story..
I understand that 9:people can read the same book and depending on what they need a book to be, they will find it-
This isn’t a new idea, just presented in a somewhat confusing and rambling, and unrealistic manner.
To everyone who loved this book to pieces, I am happy for you, but it just is not for me.. Because I have a bound copy of the book, I can always revisit it in the future, but a I rather doubt I would take the time,
The only phrase that sticks with me is true: “No two persons ever read the same book or saw the same picture,”
(The writings of Madame Swetchine, 1860)
My thanks to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for providing this book in exchange for my honest review.

Finally.

FINALLY!!

After a bit of a book slump, I picked up this book, and I KNEW from the FIRST chapter, that I had found the kind of immersive read that had been elusive the past few weeks. One that would be filled with “highlight worthy” passages, one that I would not want to put down.

“ONE book, NINE readers, TEN changed lives”

The book will pass from the hands of the WRITER to the ASSISTANT and then make its way, over the years, to the ACTOR, the ARTIST, the DIVER, the TEENAGER, the BOOKSELLER, the CARETAKER, the COORDINATOR, and the AGENT.

Written almost like a collection of vignettes, each about 20-30 minutes in length, we start by meeting the writer, Alice, as she creates her debut novel, THEO, a story that has taken FIVE years, and 40, 458 SAVES, to complete.

Now, she just needs someone to say, “YES”.

After, many rejections, it’s hook, the FIRST NINE WORDS, which Alice insisted on keeping, will speak to an assistant who is reading through queries and manuscripts, searching for the needle in the haystack-“a story that would take the familiar and turn it into something profoundly new”.

“Theo” will now find his way into the hands of many.

Each of the following chapters is like a beautifully wrapped gift box. 🎁 I couldn’t wait to open the next story to see what each new reader would discover when he or she opened the pages of “Theo”.

A few of these readers have a cameo appearance in another chapter, but many of the readers will never meet-though the story does come full circle in a very clever way in the end.

I am so glad that this unique story, “No Two Persons” has found its way into my hands. It will be on MY FAVORITES list for 2023! PRE ORDER now so it’s in your hands on MAY 2, 2023.

Thank You to St. Martin’s Press for the gifted copy provided through NetGalley. It was my pleasure to offer a candid review!

I love this book so much! This one will stay for me for a long time! I love the idea that when people read the same book they all are reading a unique story. No two people will read the same thing. What an interesting and unique premise. This book starts with a young lady who writes a book titled “Theo.” Once this book is written we get to see how 9 different people are impacted by this book. This story is a book lovers dream! It really was written in such a beautiful and emotional way that the reader connects with all 10 characters. I can’t wait to read more from this author. Thank you so much to Net Galley, the publisher, and author for providing this beautiful book for my honest review.

I absolutely adored this book. I loved seeing how one story of one little boy touched so many lives! I loved how everything came around full circule and made me feel warm inside. I definitely think this is a must read when it comes out!

Thanks to @netgalley for the advanced readers copy. I really liked this story, it was a cool idea. Alice has wanted to be an author since she was a little girl. She works on her novel and it becomes a part of her. It is based on her family and her brother's life growing up. The novel follows a variety of people who read the book, and the profound impact it had on each of them. I really liked the premise, with all these stories. I just wish that they were interconnected, and longer-always my issue with short stories. Definitely a good read. #notwopersons #ericabauermeister #novelaboutanovel #bookstagram #booklover #reader #bookblog #lovetoread #fictionreader #bookreview #bookrecommendation #readersofinstagram #bookloversofinstagram #takeapagefrommybook #readallthebooks #booksbooksbooks #netgalley #advancedreaderscopy

I absolutely loved this book. It hooked me and kept me turning pages until I was done. Finished it in two days! The character development was strong, and the premise was unique enough that it didn't feel like anything else I've read.

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's for the ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
I loved this book! It's so unique and beautifully written. It was so interesting to see the thread connecting each character (chapter) to the next, and the epilogue pulled everything together for a very satisfying conclusion. There were definitely a few gasps and oh-my-gosh moments when the connection was revealed. It's one of those stories that will stay with you long after you've finished it.

I received a digital ARC of this novel from St. Martin’s Press through NetGalley.

This is a novel about other people reading a novel, and it is fantastic. Saying anything more would be a spoiler. I highly recommend this novel to anyone who loves reading in ANY format, anyone who has ever felt a connection with a character as they were reading, and to anyone who has ever felt like they have learned something from reading. I recommend this book to everyone.

What a fascinating tale! This was a truly unique book, following the path of 10 different characters and how reading the same book affected their lives. Being an avid reader my whole life I could totally relate to the fact that the same book had different reactions. There are times that it is hard for me to understand how someone doesn't feel the same way I do about a book and that is what this one is all about.

The title is so fitting - No Two Person read the same book is absolutely true. We all read a book and have different feelings and emotions, such is the joy of reading.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read this advanced copy.

Oh My Goodness- this book. It's beautiful! I almost don't want to review it because I want to keep it for myself, internalize it, live on the cloud of peacefulness and wonder this book lifted me to. I don't want other to taint my vision. My review can not do this book justice. But on the other hand, I can not wait to share it with everyone I know, especially other book lovers and kind hearts, to discuss and let the visions flow. This book has already made it as my "Best of 2023", and I felt that way within the first two chapters.

This book is about a book; it's place, and long term impact on different people. It is almost a book of short stories, each character perfectly drawn, emotional and open. You can feel their thought processes, their pain, their desire to keep taking one step forward and get MORE. Even the sub characters are so transparent and good. But it's not only short stories, because each story has a small, subtle, tie to another character in the book, relationships to other characters becoming more prevalent toward the end of the book. The full circle is achieved at the end, and left to a very satisfying ending, but leaves you empty because these wonderful characters have left your life. This was a book- and ironically this feeling was talked about in the book- that you HAVE to keep reading because you are so drawn in, but you have a feeling of sadness as the pages go by because you know the book will end.

5 bright and shining stars- radiating in every direction. I will have to wait a few days before starting another, I need to wallow in these stories for a while. I can not wait to read this book again- however, a little sad that I won't have that "first time" experience again with this beautiful, peaceful, loving book. Wow. I've already recommended it to 3 people, and they have to wait months for it to be released. Then however many more months for word of mouth to get this book into the hands of every book club. What a glorious addition to the book world.

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the copy of No Two Persons by Erica Bauermeister. I’m an avid reader and reading about how one book affects the lives of nine very different people was irresistible to me. I loved how the plot of the book, Theo, was explained in relation to what some of the characters were going through. I also loved how each character had their own challenge and journey that impacted how the book influences them. Even if you’re not an ardent reader, you don’t want to miss this heartwarming and thought provoking read. I already know this will be one of my favorite books of 2023!

I absolutely loved this beautiful, fantastic book! So well written with great character development-you’ll love them all.
I particularly loved how the previous readers kept turning up as the book progressed. Every reader finished the book not with the same conclusion or feeling, but they all found what they needed in their own circumstance at the time. So well thought out and articulated. I will need to read more by Erica Bauermeister!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for this amazing opportunity.

In No Two Persons, we are presented with a series of vignettes about readers of the same book, showing how the same book can be experienced differently by different readers. The book opens showing us how the book came to be written by a young woman named Alice. From there the book moves through time and various readers, illustrating the concept between the title.

This is an ode to the power of stories and reading that can unite people across generations and countries. Well written, and well plotted, I enjoyed each chapter, and meeting each new character and seeing how the book within a book impacted their lives. Certainly, a book for book lovers, about book lovers.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the electronic ARC for review.

I fell in love with this book reading the first chapter. I'm so glad I was able to read an advance copy of it thanks to the publisher and Netgalley. The premise of the book is original, the writing is beautiful and effective, and the characters are all relatable. The author did a great job ultimately tying the various stories together. I also enjoyed the look behind the scenes of the publishing industry. This is a perfect book for book lovers. This was my first book by this author, and I plan to read her previous books and look forward to her next one. I highly recommend this book and think it would be a great selection for book discussion groups.

An apt title for a thoroughly enjoyable book. Books do matter in people’s lives. This is an eloquently written story about, of all things, a novel. However, it is so much more than that. At times it seemed I was reading a series of short stories, but each chapter has a relevancy to the main theme that everyone reads a book differently and books affect people’s lives in many ways. I really enjoyed the storytelling in this book. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and review an advance copy of this book.
