Morgan Albright has lived a transient life as a military brat, but has finally lifted herself up on her own and is finally feeling settled and happy. She has her own little home, a great roommate, and a job that pays the bills. But after her first dinner party, her life as she knows it is over. When she comes home to find her sweet friend and roommate dead, everything falls apart- especially once she realizes she might be the reason her friend is dead. A cold-blooded killer had targeted her and she was supposed to be his victim. She becomes “the one that got away,” which puts her in danger. She chooses to move back to Vermont with her mother and grandmother and start over there. It takes time, but she creates a new life, only to have the killer come knocking again.
Quite the suspense in this one. We never knew when or where the killer, Luke, would show up. I guessed the ending, but the build-up of the mystery and love interest were great.

This was such an intriguing read! I enjoyed every moment of it. I really liked the way the author developed the plot. I thought the characters were very well developed and I felt like I really knew each one. I loved how Morgan's story developed! I also liked that it was a multiple perspective book. I found the serial killer perspective interesting. It brought a lot to the story.
This story follows Morgan a former army brat who settles down in Baltimore with a friend. They decide to have a party where Morgan flirts away with a fun, witty IT guy. Who turns out not to be exactly who he says he is. Morgan must put back the pieces of her life. In the process, she meets incredible people to help her on this journey. Not only must she put back the pieces of her life but she also must fight to salvage what remains of her identity.

Identity" by Nora Roberts is a gripping thriller that unfolds as Morgan Albright's life is shattered by a charismatic con artist named Gavin.
The story weaves suspense and chilling revelations, forcing Morgan to confront a horrifying truth about her involvement in his deadly schemes.
With well-developed characters and a relentless pace, Roberts keeps readers on the edge as Morgan fights to reclaim her life, blending elements of suspense, identity theft, and the sinister pursuit of a relentless predator.
Nora Roberts has been a best selling author for decades. When you pick up a Nora Roberts book, you know you’re going to get something good. Strong, well written women who aren’t perfect, stunning locations, a menacing villain, and a happily ever after at the end of it all. I’m not sure how she does it after all these years, but Identity does not disappoint. Nora Roberts has knocked it out of the park yet again with her newest romantic suspense. I give Identity five stars, and recommend it to all fans of romantic thrillers.
As a shock to no one (and especially myself), Nora does it again. I have no idea what kind of magic she sprinkles into her books but they work so well with my brain and I love them so much. I would categorize this one as romantic suspense and that is something that I have really been enjoying lately. This story is captivating as it follows our MC Morgan and the nightmare she has to live with the serial killer on the loose. I found Morgan to be authentic and real which is another thing that Nora Roberts really excels at with her MC's. This was a 4.5 star for me rounded down to 4.
Nora Robert’s consistently churns out entertaining reads that I can’t put down and this was no exception. She is so talented as she writes romance, magical books and thrillers. She can do no wrong!

I enjoyed this book. Lots going on, mystery involved. Hadn’t read Nora Robert’s in a long time and was pleasantly surprised by this book. Loved the mother, grandmother, daughter dynamic!
I really enjoyed this story and the writing! Of course I know of Nora Roberts but haven't read many books by her. This one was amazing!
Thanks NetGalley and Nora Roberts!
Even though this is your typical Nora Roberts, it's quite enjoyable and hard to put down. I loved Morgan's story and reading about "her ladies" and her dreams. Miles was the perfect man for her and it was fun watching their story unfold.
Looking forward to Nora's next book as always!
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

"Identity" by Nora Roberts is an enjoyable romance/thriller that ends nice and tidy. Its a quick, easy read that moves fairly fast paced. The author could have cut some of the tedium of everyday life of the main character and her bartending career. The romance does not have a lot of tension or build-up so its not as exciting as it could be. The characters were fine, but I could have lived without Morgan calling her mom and grandmom her "ladies" over and over. It was kind of strange.
Overall, this is nice fluffy book if you are looking for a palate cleanser between dark, deep thrillers.
Thank you to St. Martins Press and Net galley for an advanced readers copy of this book for my honest review.
Nora Roberts is one of my top authors, a comfort read when nothing else is capturing my attention. For me, this book missed that mark. I didn't feel connected to the main character, and the multi character storyline kind of felt disjointed to me. I still look forward to the next book, and am likely going to revisit old favorites!
Thanks to NetGalley for this early read. While enjoyable I’m not sure why this book wasn’t my favorite. I think I was able to predict what would happen and the relationship between Morgan and Miles didn’t hook me quite like I normally love. I think I wanted a little more depth. Which is why it also seemed to take me forever to read.
Morgan is going through life just fine until a man she was casually seeing steals her identity and kills a friend. Her life is turned upside down. aRC from NetGalley
I really liked this one. It wasn’t my favorite of hers but I bought a copy of the digital as well as the audio
Another wonderful read from Nora Roberts. Nora never disappoints and I found this book to be one of her best. An exciting plot filled with mystery, suspense and eerie, other-worldly scenario set in an historic mansion on the coast of Maine. The heroine finds a legacy she never suspected she could claim as she meets her father's estranged relatives and their closest friends, she moves into the family home. Learning to live with its ghostly inhabitants, she realizes that this is going to be a far bigger challenge than she had assumed. Soon, the curse of the past begins to wreak its revenge. Bolsted by her best friend, she finds the strength to stand up to the long-dead woman who has threatened generations of the women in her family. Suffice it to say that this first volume of the trilogy leaves the reader with a harrowing and most tantilizing cliff-hanger. Highly recommended. I can't wait for volume two!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of Identity by Nora Roberts in exchange for my honest review and opinion. I was so excited to read this as I am a huge Nora Roberts fan. I absolutely loved this book. I loved how it had lots of different aspects - romance, some mystery and a few twists and turns. No matter what she writes it is always a winner!
I always enjoy Nora Roberts book, this one especially so. The relationship between the women felt so sweet and genuine. The story grabs you from the start!
I love Nora Roberts! Her books bring such a nostalgic vibe for me. This is a perfect read to lounge and enjoy by a warm fire or the beach - either or. It gives off sweet small town vibes but yet a nice thriller kick. Our main character has been the victim of identity theft from a man she befriended at the bar. Unbeknown to her, he is a serial killer who targets women with high savings. On the night he plans to kill her, he kills her roommate Nina instead. Left with no choice, she returns back home to rebuild her identity and monetary losses.
I loved that Nora included the POV of the serial killer. I feel like most authors don't change the tone for them. I think of other authors such as Stephen King who do a phenomenal job at showcasing this. Roberts nailed that POV! This had such a creep factor vibe to it because of it.
This book kind of resembled her previous book (strong FMC with a stalker MMC). So it almost felt repetitive for myself but didn't take away from the story itself. Overall, will continue to enjoy any Roberts release!
The novel explores the horrors of identity theft and the complications that follow. The protagonist, Morgan, is resilient and authentic, gaining interest from the start. However, a serial killer disrupts her life, creating chaos. The story is a perfect blend of fluff and suspense, with great characterization and a satisfying ending. The narrator, January LaVoy, is a 5-star spectacular, and the 437-page book is recommended for a series.

I received this book to read from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. I am a fan of Nora Roberts but it's been many many years since I've read anything by her. When I saw her name I instantly requested the book. I know what kind of author Nora Roberts is but by the time I read the book I had no idea what it was about. Instead of looking for info I just started reading.
I was drawn in immediately. I could not put this book down. I was talking to my husband and middle two (adult) sons about this book. Obsessively almost. They were happy to listen and agreed it sounded like it was going to be a great read.
There were some parts that I just couldn't ... get into or... believe and that's why I took a star off on the rating. Of course it's fiction and shouldn't have to be 100% accurate or perfect regarding what happens when your identity is stolen but there was enough that I almost wanted to roll my eyes at times. I also didn't like Miles's reactions or what he said sometimes. It just irked me. He was such a great guy but some of the things he did and said were like red flags and I almost expected a twist in the story out of it. Over all, a great book and I would highly recommend it to others.
