I have loved almost all of Nora Roberts romantic suspense novels and this one does not disappoint, Although the flow is somewhat predictable for a long term Roberts fan, it made it no less enjoyable for me.
Morgan, an army brat, has dreams of finally putting down roots by opening her own bar, decorating her own sweet home and settling down in one spot instead of the constant travelling of her childhood. All that is destroyed when she falls for a con artist/killer, and to recover she ends up returning home to her mother and grandmother in order to rebuild her life. The relationship between Morgan, her mother and grandmother is just perfection, as are those of the Jameson family who she becomes involved with when she gets a job at the families resort. I loved the family bantering, the slow build relationship between the oldest, serious leaning Miles and Morgan, and even the adorable dog Howl, (the dog will be ok just FYI)
Will they catch our villain before he comes back for Morgan? Will any of these characters we have come to love be victims? The mystery kept me turning the pages. There were a few things that Irked me a bit, such as why didn't Morgan freeze her credit, put alerts on her cards, etc after the first time, but those are minor quibbles. If you are a fan of Noras work, especially her earlier standalones, you will love this one.

I have been a fan of Nora Roberts for some time now. So I was excited to read this new release. The only issue I had with this book was I have been reading a lot of first person point of view so it took me a minute to adjust to the third person point of view.
I loved this book and have to say it creeped me out a bit because I believe that this could actually happen.
Morgan is a hardworking woman with goals. She is going to plant roots. Growing up an Army brat she has moved more times than she can remember. With her inheritance from her grandfather she now owns a home. She is saving and will one day hopefully sooner rather than later own her own bar. Enter the charming and handsome Luke. Morgan agrees to go out with him despite her normally too busy to date stance. Morgan's roommate Nina encourages her relationship with Luke. But nothing is as it seems. Coming home to find Nina dead, Morgan is visited by FBI agents that tell her Luke is really Gavin Rozwell and has probably drained her saving and taken out several loans in her name. Grieving and financially ruined, Morgan goes to live with her mother and grandmother.
Morgan is finally starting to make her way again, getting her feet under her. However, Gavin doesn't plan on letting Morgan be the only woman to make it out alive.
We are taking on a ride seeing Morgan come into her own and still following Gavin as he plots he revenge. I loved the characters we met in the little town in Vermont. The Jamesons are truly a wonderful family. The Nash women are strong, capable, and confident. I want to visit the town and meet this people. I loved how everyone rallied around Morgan to help her deal with the fact a serial killer was going to come after her. I loved the relationship that developed between Morgan and Miles. And oh the dog, Howl, has a special place in my heart. What a fun pet.
My heart ached for the families that lost their loved ones to Gavin Rozwell, especially the Ramos family.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

A page turning suspenseful , action packed story with a whole lot of love mixed in is one of the most exciting books I've read in a long time. You just feel everything that Morgan goes through with her.

I haven’t read Nora roberts books in probably 10 years but I loved this one!
This one I couldn’t put down. Loved the characters. Loved Morgan. She was finally rebuilding her life after Gavin stole all her money and killed her best friend. Then the fbi show up and tell her he’s after her again and still killing. Morgan learned self defense and was still living her life all while waiting for him to come after her. Suspense and some romance all in one. I definitely recommend this book.
Thank you netgalley for this arc of this book. The review is all mine.

Nora Roberts continues to deliver reliably great reads. This thriller romance had a unpredictable villain, a great heroine and a nice set of side characters.
I especially liked the way our hero’s family reacted to him dating an employee, asking her if she had felt coerced even if they were sure he wouldn’t do that. In a genre that often feels like it’s filling up with unhealthy relationships it’s nice to see emphasis given to making sure one isn’t unhealthy.

Morgan is finally able to buy a house and put down some roots. She aquires a roommate and now best friend, Nina. Morgan works 2 jobs and doesn't have time for a social life, until she meets Luke at the bar she works at. He's charming, smart, funny. They go on 2 wonderful dates, until her world comes to a screeching halt. Nina was murdered. Suspect number 1? Luke, real name: Gavin.
Unfortunately, Nina was at the wrong place, at the wrong time. The real target? Morgan.
Morgan now has to uproot her life and start all over again. All while knowing that she has a target in her back.
I loved this book. I really did. I think it was the perfect balance or romance and suspense, and I loved the multiple POVs. The characters were fantastic and it was fun to watch the characters develop in through the book. My one thing, I wish that there wasn't so many mundane details. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Ahhhh. I love a good full length Nora Roberts novel.
I have to admit to not being exactly sure how this book would be. I have been a bit disappointed with a few of her recent books. I will tell you that I have read every Nora Roberts Book that she has written and i was excited to find that this one reminded me of the older character driven novels with a GOOD side of plot and murder.
LOVED IT.
I loved how the story was told from our main character and our villain and we got to see the growth and the simultaneous descent into crazy of both of them.
The romance was solid, with just enough sexy time and it built with the story. Really good!
Thank you to Net Galley for the ARC, all opinions are my own.

Nora Roberts always writes a fine story, but this one had me on edge. Morgan works a a bartender and at a construction company. She has bought a small home to remodel, has a wonderful roommate and hopes to save enough to open her own bar. She is steadily working towards her goal. Now a personable man named Luke has come into the bar and seems to be the whole package. He isn't pushy and soon asks Morgan out for pizza and she invites him to her home for dinner with her roommate and her boyfriend. Then she comes home to find Nina dead. Her identity has also been stolen. Now the FBI is involved. Luke is not a Luke. Morgan was to be his victim, not Nina. Two years later, she is in Vermont trying to get her life back. But Luke isn't done with her...she needs to be dead.
The horror of having your identity taken is disconcerting. Not just losing your money but more debt being added.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher. I really enjoyed this.

Over the years, I have read and enjoyed many books by Nora Roberts. "Identity" was a great read with a wonderful story line about an empowering woman and her ability to overcome setbacks in the past and thrive with the help of her family - both relatives and friends - who love and support her unconditionally.
This suspense novel was well written, the characters very well developed - both good and evil, budding
relationships were introduced with just the right amount of angst , and the story kept my attention enough to keep me wanting more. A series based on this novel would be a must read!
Many thanks to NetGalley for the advanced reader copy, which I received in exchange for an unbiased review

3.5 stars!
It was a good story. I just wished I read the synopsis. But honestly I don’t think I would’ve been prepared for the brutality of the murders even if I read it. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
With that being said, I did enjoy everything else. Watching Morgan pull herself up and out of that despair was inspiring. And of course watching her fall in love was super fun. I was smiling and occasionally giggling at the banter between her and Miles. The dry and quick wit that came pouring out of him was perfect.
Would I reread this book? Probably not. Would I read any future books based on these characters? Most definitely.

I have to start off with how excited I was to see this book in NetGalley and then I got approved to read it. Made my whole week!
And then I started reading it and everything just got better and better. This is a classic Nora Roberts novel and I mean that in all the best ways. The already strong female gets knocked down, but gets back up and is better than before. I loved Morgan and Miles and their families. I love that there’s always a dog, and Howl was adorable.
Thank you to Nora Roberts, NetGalley, and St.Martin’s Press for this ARC. ~I was given this book and made no commitments to leave my opinions, favorable or otherwise~

Identity is another great read from a legend. From page one I felt comfortable, cozy, getting the lay of the land and as she often does – the author turned the story a full 180 degrees - pilling me all the way into the story and living within the pages.
Reading Nora Roberts is such a balm to the soul. Her character development, especially within families, is unmatched. Every character adds to and moves forward the plot. I was in Morgan’s house, I felt Vermont, saw the waterfalls, felt the fear, love, resilience. I loved every second of these strong characters, strong women! I hope to read more of the Jameson family.

I had the opportunity to read Identity by Nora Roberts and absolutely loved it. Morgan Albright is finally living the life she wanted. Her plans are coming together with hard work and sacrifice, but it was worth it for her. When Morgan meets Luke, he intrigues her and they have some fun together. Morgan and her roommate, Nina, decide to plan a dinner date and enjoy themselves. Everything seems perfect for now, until Morgan finds Nina dead and everything changes.
Now Nina is rebuilding her life and finds herself in the last place she ever imagined. She is now in Vermont and finding support she never thought she needed or wanted and a new job she is loving. Enter a new man she never expected but is everything she could want. Meanwhile, Gavin, the man Morgan met as Luke is spiraling and is obsessed with the woman that got away. Time is running out, but she has everything to live for.
This was a classic Nora Roberts’ story full of suspense, lies, murder and intrigue, but also, hope, love, family, friends and so much more. I devoured this story and loved it from start to finish and is why I continue to read her books.
Happy reading!

I've enjoyed many of Ms Robert's novels and series but just couldn't get into this one. I found it slow enough to only get through the first few chapters before I lost the desire to continue.

When a young woman comes home to find her roommate dead and her home ransacked, she soon learns her boyfriend is actually an identity-stealing serial killer. She sells everything and moves closer to family in order to heal and try to salvage what little she has left. She slowly builds a new life but her ex isn't done with her yet. She is the only woman to get away from him and he won't stop until he steals her what's left of her identity and her life.
I love Nora Roberts though I haven't been as impressed with her recent stories over the last 5 years or so. Identity reads like one of her older novels. Charismatic characters, a well-developed storyline, multiple subplots, and
that prevailing all-encompassing notion that no matter what, we can always go home.
A fast read that is sure to keep fans engrossed till the end.

Morgan Albright has a good life in a Baltimore neighborhood. Her best friend Nina lives with her and helps to make the mortgage payment on her house. At her bartending job she meets Luke and they share a mutual attraction. She invites him to a dinner party that she and Nina are having. Her world is shattered when her home is robbed and Nina is murdered. The truth emerges as she discovers that Luke’s name is Gavin who is a con artist who targets certain women, steals their identity, assets and murders them. Nina was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. With nothing left she has no choice but to move in with her mother and grandmother in Vermont. She is rebuilding her life when the FBI informs her that Gavin is finding new victims and leaving clues behind to let Morgan know he is going to take care of the one who got away.
Thanks to Nora Roberts and St Martin’s Press

Morgan Albright has a ten year plan and the drive and motivation to complete it. With two jobs she enjoys, a reliable car, and a cute little house she shares with her best friend Nina, Morgan is only a few years from realizing her dream of owning a bar. So when traveling IT specialist Luke asks her out, Morgan decides she can take time for romance and says yes. But Luke is actually cold-hearted, sociopath Gavin Rozwell, a con artist who steals women’s money, their identities, and ultimately their lives. After Rozwell steals Morgan’s identity and murders Nina in a case of wrong place, wrong time, Morgan’s life is left in shambles. She has only one option, move to Vermont to live with her mother and grandmother. Morgan takes a job as the manager of Apres, a bar located in the popular Resort at Westridge and she makes a romantic connection with Miles Jameson, one of the resort’s owners. Morgan is beginning to get her life back on track, but Gavin Rozwell has become obsessed with the woman who got away and this time he’s going to make sure he accomplishes his goals.
I have never read a Nora Robert book I haven’t loved and this is no exception. With her trademark lyrical writing style, Roberts weaves a captivating story of resilience and romance. The plot is strong and well thought out. I really enjoyed the pacing, not break neck where there’s no opportunity to settle in to the story and not to slow where you’re bored. The characters are fleshed out and realistic. Morgan has been molded by constantly moving as a child. She’s focused, driven, and craves the roots and community she never had growing up. Miles is steady, dependable, and family oriented. The kind of man who’s built for the long haul. Morgan and Miles just fit together. Rozwell is pure evil, but Roberts has given him a backstory that shows where he comes from and how he as escalated to become the man Morgan meets. The secondary characters are fun and support. A pure, perfect Nora Roberts novel!

This book is SO good! Once I got started with it, I couldn't put it down. I had to know what happened next, then next, and so on. You get the idea.
Morgan Albright was an army brat. As an adult, all she wanted was roots somewhere, anywhere. So, she settled in Maryland, saved, worked two jobs, bought a small house, and put down those roots. Then Luke Hudson happened—handsome, charming, a great conversationalist, and charismatic until he wasn't. What he leaves behind in his wake all but destroys Morgan. When FBI agents pay her a visit, she finally understands who and what Luke Hudson is and how lucky she is to be alive. Her best friend and housemate, Nina, is dead, and Morgan's identity is stolen along with her car, house, and everything else she values. With her confidence destroyed, she knows only one place to go—home to the only stable place she ever knew, her grandmother's house in Vermont.
As this story unfolds and Morgan gathers the strength to try and move forward, I found myself being proud of each tiny step she takes. Rekindling a beautiful relationship with her mother and grandmother, then landing a job at a classy resort, finally letting go of Nina's rattletrap car, and rebuilding a life from the rubble takes guts and determination. Then, she goes a step further and lets handsome Miles Jameson into her life.
She's been Hudson's only surviving victim. His real name is Gavin Rozwell, and he is a psychopathic serial killer leaving a string of victims behind him. To deepen his depravity, his first kill was his mother. Now, Morgan's survived and eluded him. He has to fix that.
This book is a fast-paced page-turner. Morgan is smart, she is beautiful, and she's gifted, not only in mixology but in people skills. Her job at the resort leads to life-changing events. But Rozwell isn't giving up. He blames her for his failures, and that must be fixed. From the beginning page to the climactic ending, I was hooked! I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good story with tons of suspense, tension, and a dash of romance. This might be Roberts' best-to-date!

I've been reading Nora longer than any other author - since I first read one of her books my mom left laying around when I was in high school - so I'm so excited to get a chance to read one of get books early! I loved this suspenseful love story, and wish I could go stay at that resort and visit the Nash ladies' shop.

4.5 Stars!
Nora Roberts’ writing really takes me into the story. Morgan has worked so hard to establish a life for herself only to have it all taken away from her. I could feel her devastation.
The story kept me on the edge of my seat. With Gavin still out there, would she ever feel safe again? Would he be caught before he could cause her more harm?
The story also gave me hope. While Morgan had everything taken away from her, she actually gained so much more back than she had taken away.
