Another hit from the master, Nora Roberts. It was equal parts crime novel mixed with the right amount of romance and strong females. I loved the relationship between the mom and the grandma. They were a lovely addition to the story.

Another great read by Nora Roberts!

Identity is packed with suspense, a sick-minded but crafty villain, hard working women, families working together, frustrated FBI agents, romance, mixed drinks, laughter, love, flowers, and an adorable dog named Howl.

The reason for a 4 out of 5 is the length.

Thank you NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Love, love, love her writing.

NR is such a gerat writer. I really paid attention this time to how often the author picked up a thought from pages/chapters earlier with such skill. The conversations flow so natural that way and the plot never stalls. She is someone new authors really should check out.

Anyway, to the book....

As always I'm a big fan of her standalone contemporary novels. I love that she always picks a topic and really researches the heck out of it. This time it's about identity theft and it just boggled my mind to think about the mess it can make out of one's life.

Also, I loved that our heroine worked as bartender/manager of a bar, another part of the book that was really well researched and put to paper.

Same with the three generation house (just loved The Ladies) and the big family meetings and of course the dog. I'm a sucker for all of it. Everything together makes for a feel-good novel, with a suspense element that doesn't take away from the romantic leads.

I'm also a big fan of how the author brings her main characters together. The couple enjoyed a slow burn over months, which was so well done, and gave the story and their relationship so much more depth and meaning. Loved them together.

So, another great book by one of my most favorite authors, and I'm already exited about the next one.

This isn't my favorite Nora Roberts' book, but it is still a very solid read. The first and last thirds of the book were excellent page turners, but the middle dragged. I thought the villain was the most interesting character and looked forward to his chapters. The romance was blunt and to the point. Nora Roberts fans won't be disappointed with Identity.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for access to this arc.

I’ve been a fan of Nora Roberts for at least 25 years. This book did not disappoint and kept me on the edge of my seat. Definitely a thriller!

What a fantastic story! Based on the book description, I knew exactly what was going to happen, but that only helped build the suspense. I can’t count the number of times I found myself thinking that Gavin was going to pop up unexpectedly! The characters and the plot were very relatable and made me think about how much information people share with strangers, either intentionally or unintentionally, which added to the suspense. The author did a great job developing the characters and made me care what happened to each of them. I am a big fan of Nora Roberts, and this book moved to the top of the list!

I’ve read nearly all of Nora Roberts books and haven’t been disappointed often. This book was so good. I really hated the villain and so much wanted him to be captured. It’s definitely worth the read❤️.

Morgan Albright is a former army brat who has moved around her entire life. Now, she wants nothing more than to set down roots, and one day has plans to open her own bar. To help with cost of living, Morgan decides to have a roommate. Nina moves in, and the pair quickly become best friends.

Working two jobs, Morgan doesn’t really have time for much else. She definitely doesn’t have the time to date. But when a cute guy named Luke starts coming into the bar and flirting with Morgan, she decides to give casual dating a try. Unfortunately, Luke is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He makes his living off of stealing peoples identities and then murdering his victim.

When Luke breaks into Morgan’s Baltimore home, he doesn’t expect to find Nina home sick. To cover his tracks, he ends up killing her instead of Morgan. Soon after, the FBI shows up and alerts Morgan to the fact that Luke is a serial killer and predator. They have been after him for a while.

Morgan has no choice but to head to her family’s Vermont home when Luke steals her identity and all of her finances are compromised. Determined to start over, she takes a job she loves. She meets a new guy, Miles Jameson. He’s got the greatest house and dog, not to mention he’s pretty great himself. Will Morgan be able to take the risk with him though? And will the FBI catch her would be killer before he comes to finish the job with her?

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Nora Roberts knows how to write a book. The book was amazing, I loved the mystery. I thought the characters were fabulous and this was another wonderful story from the Queen of Romance.

Great story by Nora Roberts. Morgan is portrayed as such a strong lady, as well as her mother and grandmother. The ending was pretty good - expected once you reach it. There is one typo - when Morgan does the rope course Nell is named instead which threw me off so I had to re-read several pages back. I highly recommend this book.

Identity, by Nora Roberts, may just be my favorite Nora Roberts book ever, but definitely my favorite of her most recent ones. She combines her go-to romantic storyline into a mystery that is also somewhat of a thriller. And, best of all, she ties it up into a good-feel ending which is why many read her novels. Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with an ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.

Another solid book by Nora Roberts! This one had me staying up late to finish because I couldn't put it down.

Morgan has a great life, tending bar and living in a house with her best friend, Nina. She has it all except for a good man and when she meets a handsome guy at work, she has no idea what she opens herself up to. He steals her identity, wipes her accounts clean and kills her best friend. With her life in ruins, she heads home to her mom and grandma in Vermont to start over. But this con man won't let her get away and even with the FBI on his trail, he manages to stay 4 steps ahead. Will they ever catch him? Can Morgan ever put down roots and find happiness?

Equal parts mystery and romance, this book had a strong female lead and wonderful supporting characters. Many thanks to Netgalley and St Martin's Press for the ARC.

Excellent mix of genres as the author creates a song protagonist, Morgan, who sets out to make it on her own, when suddenly she becomes a victim but escapes with her life. Running home to Mom and Grandma seems to be admitting defeat, but it turns out to be a great choice as all three generations benefit. As Morgan rebuilds her life, the symbiosis is amazing, She helps strengthen all around her, and they give her power as well. In the meantime her antagonist has some unfinished business as he seeks to kill Morgan. Well-paced, excellent plot and characters.

Identity is essentially about a woman getting her life back after a conman steals her identity, ruins her financially, and murders her roommate. It’s being marketed as a mystery/thriller but it’s really not. The pacing is too leisurely. It’s also not really a romance either. We barely know Miles before they hook up (which I felt was completely out of left field). There was absolutely no build up (or you know… foreplay) to their relationship. In my eyes, he was a walking red flag and not the knight in shining armor the author was trying to write him as.
I liked Morgan as a main character but every time she referred to her mom and gran as “her ladies,” I cringed. It was annoying and weird. Another big issue I had was in the dialogue. There was soooo much of it. And everyone talks like they’ve had years of therapy and watch nothing but after school specials about how to express their feelings. Talking like that is the exception, not the norm. It was hard to take any of the characters too seriously. No one got angry! It was all sunshine and rainbows… all of the time. Wait… no… one character did. But a few chapters later she told Morgan she was wrong about her, and then that was that.
It’s an okay book. I wish there was more Gavin chapters and less chapters about Morgan’s mundane shifts at work. And… spoiler alert the dog doesn’t die… so that made me happy.

Not having read an abundance of Nora Roberts romances but having read all of the JD Robb series, this book feels more like Robb than Roberts to me. Phrasing and cadence are familiar, and our shero, Morgan Albright, has a lot of Eve Dallas pluck in her, so I felt right at home with this one.

Morgan was raised in a military family, always moving from place to place. She wants nothing more than to settle somewhere, put down roots, and eventually open her own neighborhood bar. She works two jobs and has a roommate who's like a sister sharing expenses, but then everything falls apart. Her roommate is dead, her identity stolen, and her life destroyed. With no other choice, she goes to live with her mother and grandmother in Vermont.

For Gavin Rozwell, Morgan is the one who got away. She's the only woman he's targeted who didn’t end up dead by his hand. He'll bide his time, but he's keeping tabs on Morgan and he's determined to finish the job.

Despite the periodic updates from the FBI, Morgan is slowly rebuilding her life. She has a terrific job as the bar manager at the Jameson family's world-class resort, she's contributing to her family with home improvements and updates, and she finds herself in a romantic relationship she never expected with Miles Jameson. It looks like the perfect life, a Phoenix having risen from the ashes, except for the fact that a serial killer has her in his sites.

The perfect mix of romance and riveting suspense, I was held spellbound by this one and resented any interruptions that pulled me away from this compelling story. Any fan of romantic suspense will want to get her hands on this masterful, addictive, hypnotic read right away!

Another fantastic suspenseful romance from Nora Roberts. I read this in 2 days and loved every minute. Morgan-a young woman who loses everything including her best friend to a smoothly handsome serial killer--finds love and a place to belong after being forced to start over from nothing. This is a story of overcoming trauma, finding roots, finding family and finding love. Morgan discovers she is a strong woman and refuses to let a maniacal misogynistic psychopath ruin her life. I enjoyed every minute of this and couldn't help cheering Morgan along every step of the way.

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Once again Nora Roberts knocks a romantic mini-thriller out of the park. The characters were all amazing. The story kept you involved. There were enough details to make sure that you were right there with the characters including the murderer. I have read the majority of Nora's books and was so excited to be able to get this ARC and I am so glad I did. I enjoyed the whole thing.

I'm a fan Nora Roberts but admit I have never read her suspense books and I will correct that error. This book broke my heart, it scared me, it devastated me and then it gave me hope. The characters are wonderful. Even the antagonist is so well thought out and descriptive. Morgan has the kind of resilience that you don't see much anymore. She picks herself up and starts again. And again. I highly recommend this book and all of this author's work! I read this book on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

First off thank you for allowing me to read and review this. I’ve read a few other Nora Roberts books and truly do enjoy the writing style but this one was one of my favorites. Thrill and love all in one are my kind of books

*ARC review*

4.5 stars

This was my first Nora Roberts novel and I really enjoyed it! It was the perfect mixture of romance and thriller for me. I was engaged the whole time.

Identity starts in Baltimore where Morgan Albright is a master bartender. She meets a charming man named Luke and begins to date him. Before we know it, Morgan's roommate is found dead in their house and Luke has disappeared. Luke is determined to be a conman named Gavin who is out for women just like Morgan.

Morgan restarts her life with her mother and grandmother in Vermont. She lost everything after Gavin scammed her out of all of her money. She begins to start over when she starts working at a resort run by the Jameson family. The Jameson's take care of their own, and they protect her immediately. She and the oldest son Miles have chemistry from the beginning. We get to see the blossoming relationship all while we track Gavin's every move. It all worked very nicely together.

While I am a rom com girl through and through, I will say I wish the climax scene was a bit longer! I really enjoyed the tension and drama.

I would definitely read more thrillers and Nora Roberts books!!
