It's Nora Roberts. It was exactly what I expected of Nora Roberts and I read it and love it just for this reason.

Why have I never read a Nora Roberts book before? I see her books everywhere but don’t see them reviewed very often.

When NetGalley had Identity as read now book, I grabbed it. It still took me way too long to actually read it and when I finally picked it up yesterday, I could not put it down! I read/listened to the entire book in one day. I tandem read the ebook and also listened to the audiobook.

I loved everything about Identity. The suspense, the romance, and the family relationships were all perfection.

⚠️There are definitely TW. Please DM me if you have any questions. ⚠️

Thank you #netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Identity written by Nora Roberts was THE BEST ROMANTIC SUSPENSE NOVEL I HAVE EVER READ. Nora, you have done it once again, you made me fall in love with your story. I have LOVED Nora Roberts since the very first time I picked up one of her books, the way she writes is just so captivating. This book never failed to disappoint me, it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Identity truly grabbed me by the heart strings and just pulled them apart until I just couldn't keep my emotions bottled up anymore. I was so excited to get my hands on this book, it was so gripping and suspenseful. I was so invested in the characters lives, I just couldn't put this book down until the very end. While reading this story, you can't help but cheer on the characters while you have tears streaming down your face. The cover is one of the many reasons why I decided to pick this book up, it's just so beautiful and aesthetic. I can't recommend this Nora Roberts book enough, if you are looking for a mysterious, suspenseful, and romantic book, please look no further than Identity written by Nora Roberts. This definitely won't be my last book I ever read by Nora Roberts, absolutely amazing, i'm still speechless.

Morgan Albright is a former Army brat, and has finally decided to plant roots in a friendly neighborhood near Baltimore. Morgan lives with her best friend and roommate, Nina, who helps Morgan make her mortgage payments, but Morgan also works as a bartender which also helps pay bills. Despite Morgan and Nina being roommates, they also call themselves sisters. Morgan is literally everyone's light in life, she talks to everyone who comes into the bar, but she also makes them feel welcome. After Morgan and Nina host their first ever dinner party, attended by "Luke", the flirtatious IT guy who has been warming up to Morgan at the bar, Morgan's carefully built world is shattered. Morgan comes home from her second job with a construction company, Morgan finds her windows broken, Nina is dead on the floor, Morgan's car is gone, and money is missing. Morgan has to upend her roots, and moves back home to Vermont with her mom and grandmother. Morgan is simply "the one who got away". In Vermont, Morgan gets a new job as a bartender but at a family resort, where she meets Miles Jameson. Miles isn't the flashy or flirty type of person, he simply falls in love with Morgan and he wants to watch her succeed.

Soon, a bone chilling truth emerges: It was Morgan who let the monster in. "Luke" is actually a cold hearted con artist with the name of Gavin. Gavin targets a particular kind of women, steals her assets and identity, and then he commits his ultimate goal:murder. Gavin steals so much from the women he targets and then later kills them, due to a specific reason that happened in his life. When the FBI gets involved, what they tell Morgan is absolutely disgusting, Nina wasn't Gavin's type, Morgan is. Nina was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. With Morgan in Vermont and spending time with Miles, Gavin is still out there hunting his victims, but he still wants a piece of Morgan. Miles is such a sweetheart, once he learns of what happened to Morgan back in Baltimore, he's always there to protect Morgan, he's always watching out for her. Gavin is absolutely a cold hearted bitch, he takes advantage of women just because of something that happened to his parents. I didn't expect this book to destroy my heart, but it definitely did just that. My heart goes out to Morgan for losing her best friend, but i'm so proud of her for moving forward and trying to plant new roots in Vermont with her grandma, mom, and now Miles.

As always, Nora Roberts sure can keep a reader entertained with the stories she weaves and the ebook, Identity, is no exception. This time she tells the story of Morgan Albright, an amazing bartender who can make some outstanding out of the norm drinks ( the recipes are in the ebook)! Her roommate is killed in a vicious attack. After this, Morgan goes back home to Vermont to live with her mother and grandmother. What amazing, loveable characters they are! Nora Roberts constructs a very suspenseful, can't put down, on the edge of my seat story of a killer on the loose, who is targeting Morgan, how Morgan copes and builds a new life, and also shows the villains journey, his thoughts, and his reasons as he sees them for his killings. Nora Roberts at her best!

Let me just start off by saying I absolutely LOVE Nora Robert's suspense stories! I haven't read one that I didn't love, and I feel like there won't be one that I don't love!

This was no different! I was hooked from page one, and as the story went I felt 100% engaged. I NEEDED to know what was going to happen!

Morgan was just great! I loved how she was so strong even after everything she went through. She was not going to let it take her down, and she fought each and every day. And Miles was exactly what she needed, even when she didn't know it. He was patient, calm, and always in her corner. I loved the family dynamic from both of them, and I would love to get a book that followed Jake and Nell!!

Overall, this book was fabulous, and I cannot wait to read more of Nora's work. I am a fan, and definitely recommend this one to readers who have read, and enjoyed, her other works!

Another solid story from Ms Roberts. In a tale that absolutely makes you see how easy it is for someone to steal your identity, we see Morgan's whole world turned upside down and everything she's worked for gone! With her best friend dead and herself in financial ruin, Morgan moves to Vermont with her mother and grandmother to see if she can start over. Besides looking for justice and putting a murderer away this story is about Morgan deciding to fight, discover her true self, start a new career and find and make relationships that are solid and roots she can count on.

✨my first nora roberts novel and i don’t think it will be my last!!! i know she doesn’t need influencing, everyone has read or heard of a nora roberts book but more of you need to read THIS one!!!

✨60% romance/creating a new life, 40% thriller, this book was sweet and sad and anxiety inducing and it was GREAT. i think the mystery in this, the thriller aspect, was one of the best concepts I’ve consumed in a long time.

✨our main character builds such genuine and loving connections around her and I loved that her mom and grandma (OLIVIA) were LOVELY and I loved being in the Vermont town with the Nash’s

✨I don’t want to say much more but if you’re looking for a romance thriller mixed with a little bit of grumpy x sunshine and (he never says it but it’s the vibes) “who did this to you,” then read this book!!!!!

✨thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for allowing me to read an eARC in exchange for my honest opinion!!!

Nora Roberts never disappoints and this stand-alone title did not either. It could have easily been taken from today's headlines making it even more relatable. I most enjoyed the evolution of the Morgan. How she came into herself, decided not to be a victim, healed family rifts, and moved forward with her life in spite of a shadow looming. It was a great read.

I look forward to Nora Roberts contemporary books every year, and I was not disappointed this time. There was a Spencer in Romance, which is what I’m looking for when I read a book by Nora Roberts. The whole premise of someone stealing your identity to steal your money, is terrifying, and quite realistic in these times. I really enjoy the heroines journey to feeling strong again, and the romance helped her with her confidence. All the characters were intriguing and I did find it. Scary of how the villain was obsessed with the heroin. Idea but if she’s acting so scary in the way this book was written you saw the damaging affects, but you could also see how someone could recover from something like this if it happened to them.

Holy crap! This book was absolutely amazing! I've never read a Nora Roberts book and that was such a huge oversight on my part.

The writing and pace were so damn good. Nothing felt rushed plot-wise. The relationship between Morgan and Miles was so sweet and seemed organic, kind of unusual for most romances today. The only exception was the end when he told her he loved her and proposed at the same time. It was a little jarring, but also sort of made sense for them.

The random chapters from the serial killer point of view were interesting. I wasn't sure what to think because he was such a piece of crap, but as the book went on they gave so much insight into his mental health and why the ending happened the way it did.

I will now be recommending Nora Roberts to anyone and everyone. Plus I'll be reading more of her books sooner rather than later.

This was my first Nora Roberts book. I can see why so many people love her!

I really enjoyed Morgan's story. I love that this was a thriller/romance.

My only complaint is how slow the beginning of the book was and the length of the chapters.

Other than that it was a great read!

There is a reason she is yet again an auto buy author for me. I always love her suspense with a dash of romance . She knocked this one out of the park . Almost five stars I just wish there was a more prelude before they got together .
I liked the take this one took. She really did her research on how identity theft can really affect people and destroy their lives .
People are not always as they seem. I always like her strong women and how the men support and not bulldoze them..

Typical Nora Roberts. She keeps you on your toes and wants you to keep turning the pages. Nora does not disappoint with this book.

Having your identity stolen would be a nightmare in itself. Having everything of value ripped away is something beyond nightmarish. In IDENTITY, Nora Roberts introduces us to Morgan, who, after a fairly chaotic younger life, put a plan in place for the calm life she wanted, complete with financial spreadsheets. She has her house and a roommate she adores who is helping fix it up, but there is no time or plans for a boyfriend. When Luke starts visiting her bar regularly, she lets down her guard and starts to date him, only to come home one day to find her roommate dead and her car gone, and Luke no longer available. It isn’t long before she finds that she didn’t lose just her roommate, but her entire identity. Soon the FBI is at her door, and she realizes that she was Luke’s target and she’s the only one that can identify him, and it’s likely he isn’t finished with her. Feeling beaten, she heads to her Grandmother’s home, and reconnects with both her Grandmother and Mother, finding both women are stronger than she remembers, and being with them helps her start to heal. When she finds the perfect job at a family run resort, she starts to become stronger, learns how to fight back, and finds the man perfect for her.
Roberts has created another novel that will leave you on the edge of your seat, turning pages to watch Morgan as she fights to reclaim her life and her identity. I love watching her rediscover her family and find a new path, all the while knowing that her new life wasn’t secure until the man who took so much from her is caught. Roberts knows just how to write novels with a strong female protagonist that keep the reader in suspense until the very end. This one belongs in everyone’s beach bag!
Thanks to the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the novel. All opinions are my own and freely given.

I enjoyed this book. It was a little longer page number wise, but it really went by so quickly - I found myself not wanting to stop reading. This is listed as mystery/thriller/romance which first initially intrigued me and I loved it. This book was completely captivating with the story building - the twists and turns, the overall well rounded characters and how relatable they became, overall had me rooting for Morgan throughout the story. Loved it!

I’ve been reading Nora Roberts books for many years and I always enjoy them. After reading the description for Identity, I was really looking forward to reading it.

Nora Roberts books have a bit of everything and it all seems to come together perfectly. Romance, sex, family, love, loss, redemption, thrills and more!
And Identity was no exception.

When Morgan Albright was a child her father was in the army. This meant frequent moves to different countries and continents. As an adult all Morgan wanted was to put down roots. She wanted her own home and her own business. So she worked her way through college and saved every penny. Now Morgan is twenty-five years old living her best life in her pretty little house with it’s pretty little blue door just outside of Baltimore, Maryland. Her best friend, Nina Ramos moves in to help share costs and this has also worked out extremely well.

“She’d planted those roots and felt herself blooming.”

Then Morgan meets a man who will change her life forever.

I really enjoyed this book!

At 437 pages it’s not a quick read. However, I was enjoying the story and really didn’t focus on the length.

Timely and relevant, Identity was an engrossing read. I grew to care for many of the characters, especially Morgan and “her ladies”. Even the animals in Nora Robert’s books are well developed. (I loved Howl the dog).

Another great novel from Nora Roberts!

I'd like to thank the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this novel. All opinions are my own.

Seriously, I loved this book. I'm not surprised as I'm a huge fan of Nora Roberts, but this was once again a favorite of mine. It reminds me of the Angels Fall book she wrote. Psycho hurts and messes with the girl. Girl rebuilds her life and tries to find her happy ending. I highly recommend this book.

This was good in a chilling way. Almost too creepy for me but I persisted til the happy ending. Thank you to both NetGalley and the publisher.
