"Inside King Tut's Tomb" is a nonfiction book about ancient Egypt and King Tut. Set up as a top secret case, the book has blacked out text and different case information. There are lots of pictures to help with comprehension and picturing what life was like in Ancient Egypt. The book encourages readers to help solve the case of what happened to King Tut in his tomb. Recommended for grades 5-7
Inside King Tut’s Tomb is pretty fascinating. Between the illustrations and the way it’s chock full of facts, this will be a winner for my Ancient Civilizations unit.
My 9-year-old son loved this! And I loved reading it to him. Lots of interesting facts about Tut. Thanks to Netgalley for providing an e-copy in return for this review.
Inside King Tut's Tomb is filled with great facts, mystery and wonderful photographs. This text is bound to not only start a conversation but be the starting point of further inquiry and reading.
This is a great book about King Tut for any level learner. Personally as a special education teacher, this would be a great accompanying book to the Up the Ladder Nonfiction curriculum that uses a mentor text on mummies. The book is easy to read, has wonderful photographs, and provides a wealth of knowledge in kid friendly language. I also appreciate that they are honest about the fact that there is still unknowns regarding King Tut.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book.
The book is well written and a great introduction to the discovery of King Tut's tomb. The utilization of real photos assists with bringing the book to life and my 7 year old truly enjoyed viewing them.
My only small piece of constructive feedback would be that it would be helpful for the author to add Tut's physical age of death, instead of just listing the year. My 7 year old made note that King Tut died at 19; however, my child does not yet understand the use of BCE. My child perfectly understood the rest of the book, though!
The book's "Solve It!" Sections were nice and added some thought provoking discussions.
Overall it was a very good book!
