Rating this 5 stars because I could not put it down!!! I actually stayed up until 5am reading it because I was so invested.
“You Shouldn’t Have Come Here,” is about a woman named Grace from NYC who rents an AirBnb in rural Wyoming. Upon arriving she immediately has a terrible feeling in her gut, but decides to stay. Her Airbnb host, Calvin, is handsome, but is he actually who he says he is?
The books goes back and forth between Grace and Calvin’s POV, and keeps you on your toes the entire time. I was obsessed with both characters, and then truly shocked at the end. Spine tingling shocked! I loved this book and think it’s the perfect thriller.
Thank you NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was definitely a thriller with an ending I did not see coming. The book read like a horror film, told from two different viewpoints - Grace and Calvin. The book was dark, twisted, creepy, atmospheric, with excellent pacing and mounting pressure from chapter to chapter. I kept wanting to turn the page, and was on my toes until the very end. Highly recommend this book to anyone looking for their next amazing thriller. Would make for an excellent horror film as well! Thank you Net Galley for the early copy.

This is hands down the best book I have read this year! Incredible story that played like a movie in my head, kept me on the edge of my seat and had an ending I don’t think anyone would see coming. The execution of it all was just perfection, I love to read thrillers and guess and make theories and this book just took me on the most fun ride! Now I want this made into a movie so I can watch it;) it’s a 5 star read for me for sure.

Ok, as someone who lives in Wyoming there were a couple things I was annoyed with that I wish Jeneva would have done just a tiny bit more with. Like Dubois is probably one of the most welcoming places in Wyoming but I get not everyone does that. Not to mention the different stereotypes. I wish there would have been more research on that especially with the sheriffs dept. As they only occasionally patrol Dubois and do not have a police station there.
Ok, rant over about Wyoming. This book was a tangled web of lies and deceit. At first I kept screaming at Grace MAJOR RED FLAGS.... not once, twice, or even a third time with all the things happening on the ranch I could not even deal with how she chooses to stay. Not to mention how I felt it was so dumb that she stayed. Any single woman in the middle of nowhere with all those red flags would have left..... I didnt realize why she stayed until the end of the story. Now the ending..... holy hell.... I was NOT expecting that. Once you read the ending you understand completely the whole book and it comes all together. Bravo to Miss Rose for that. Because I swear I was screaming GET THE FUCK OUT over ten times. I only give it 4 stars because I was mad about Wyoming lol.
This is a must read. MUST READ :) Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC for an honest opinion and review of the book! Wheeeewww! Happy Reading!

I would love to have something nice to say about this book, but it was just a big dud for me. I believe this book is supposed to be a romantic thriller, but it misses the mark on both points. Basically nothing happens until the last 10% of the book., and then the story takes a completely out of nowhere turn. I think the author had a good premise for this novel, but the execution just didn’t work out.
Thank you NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the advance copy in return for my honest review.

Available April 25!
Grace Evans, an overworked New Yorker looking for a total escape from her busy life, books an Airbnb on a ranch in the middle of Wyoming. When she arrives, she's pleasantly surprised to find that the owner is a handsome man by the name of Calvin Wells. But there are things Grace discovers that she's not too pleased about: A lack of cell phone service. A missing woman. And a feeling that something isn't right with the town.
The beginning of this story threw me off. I kept thinking, is this a romance?! Couldn’t be! WOW. As I kept reading so many things just felt so strange and creepy. The dual POV really helps you to get to know both Grace and Calvin.
I love the way this author tells a story. I LOVED One Of Us Is Dead and I have The Perfect Marriage on my TBR. Suspenseful, hilarious, and shocking!
Every twist and turn builds more suspense and leaves you wonder what in the world is going on! The big twists in the end just keep coming and will leave you surprised!

This is a difficult review for me to write because up until this point, I have loved everything Jeneva Rose has put out. However, You Shouldn’t Have Come Here didn’t work for me.
Ignoring the multiple red flags that would have sent anyone else screaming, the plot twist didn’t make any sense. Had the POV been strictly Calvin, then the double personality Grace/Avery could have made since. But Avery was always Grace and the reader had to read Grace’s fear, gaslighting and internal monologue.
Was the overall plot good? I’d say yes; but it failed in its execution.
I appreciate the ARC.

Not all books can be a five star read. I was very much looking forward to this one as Jeneva Rose is very popular. I was very surprised in the beginning going in thinking it was a thriller. It quickly turned into a slow burn romance. Let me tell you I am here for that. I love having romance mixed in with my thrillers or mysteries. But near the end a bombshell is dropped so suddenly and abrubtly with no warning. Like no warning at all, it left me feeling very let down and I can say I did not enjoy the ending of this book at all. I also seemed to have an aversion to the name Calvin. Sorry to any Calvin's out there... it just didn't seem to flow. There was so much going on but then not much at all. This is a hard one to review. More depth and character development into Grace would have been appreciated and I think would have helped the ending instead of just exploding your world and then ending very suddenly.
I would like to give a big thanks to Netgalley and Blackstone Publishing for the opportunity to read You Shouldn't Have Come Here.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance reader copy of this book. Jeneva Rose writes great storylines. I loved the twists and turns and it was a quick read. No cell service and a missing person is a common theme in psychological thrillers. If the story was a little more original it definitely would have gotten 5 stars.

If you enjoy Hallmark movies and thrillers which SPOILER, I do! You Shouldn't Have Come Here by Jeneva Rose is the book for you. Another great twisty thriller read.

As a big fan of Jeneva Rose's previous books, I was so excited to read her newest release. Unfortunately this one did not work for me.
I liked the premise- the title tells us there is something sinister happening at the vacation spot. I loved that we went back and forth between Grace and Calvin's perspective. My problem with the book was that nothing really happened for about 70% of the book. It was a super slow build up and if felt like a weird romance was the main plot of this story but I knew there was more to it.
The most action came in the last 10% of the book, when everything finally came out. Who both Calvin and Grace really were and what brought them to the farm in the first place...but that wasn't enough to save it. The twist was very strange and unrealistic and I was left scratching my head in confusion.
I will read more by this author, because i've loved all her other books- this one was just a dud for me.

I wasn't really drawn into this book at first. Seemed a little vapid and almost cheesy. But my oh my, the twist at the end hooked me! I would LOVE to read more books centered around the main character Avery and her "scratching her itches".

City girl Grace Evans has found herself vacationing in Dubois, Wyoming completely by chance. Literally throwing a dart at a map of the United States to select her destination, she arrives at her Airbnb pleased to meet her handsome rancher host, Calvin Wells. But almost immediately, things start to feel “off.” There’s no cell service, the promised Wi-Fi is non-existent, her car breaks down, and that’s just the beginning of the weirdness. Romance starts to blossom between Grace and Calvin, but she’s sure he (and everyone else she meets) is hiding something from her. But Calvin isn’t the only one with something to hide….
I enjoyed this quick, albeit unevenly paced, thriller. It starts off strong and it finishes with a completely unexpected twist, but the middle part felt a bit draggy. A lot of repetitive scenes of wondering when Grace’s car will be repaired, Grace and Calvin getting closer, Grace and Calvin cooling off. More than once I wondered where this story was going and when it would get there. But when it did get there, it was a doozy in the best way and worth the wait!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for providing me an advance copy of this book.

“You shouldn’t have come here, Grace”. But as a thriller lover, I’m so glad she did. Something is “off” the entire time, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Is it the ranch? Something off with the town? Is it someone from the past? Is it seemingly sweet Calvin himself? Or, is it Grace? My mind went all over the place throughout the whole story and I felt like I was on a wild ride meant just for me.
So many times throughout the book I thought I had it figured out, but I did not. Every time I would, something new would pop up that threw me in an entirely new direction. There are some parts a bit slower or irrelevant to the story that, in looking back, I’m not sure were entirely necessary. However, they did distract from me figuring out the ending which I did NOT see coming!
Thank you so much to Blackstone Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review! will be posting to my IG @manis.and.manuscripts this week and again during pub week.

All Grace Evans wanted was a getaway from her busy life in New York. When she books a Airbnb on a ranch in Wyoming, she thinks is the perfect spot to relax. She soon finds out that between the handsome owner and the missing woman in town there’s something not quite right about this getaway.
I am a huge fan of Jeneva Rose and have read and loved all her other books. I really wanted to love this one but sadly it was not for me. I thought the ending was a little too far-fetched for my taste and left some holes in the story. Even though this one wasn’t for me, I’m sure other readers would enjoy it.
I’m already looking forward to her next book! Overall, if you’re interested in reading You Shouldn’t Have Come Here, make sure to grab a copy on release date April 25th.

Jeneva had me questioning everything I was thinking after ever page I read. I thought I had it figured out but nope! She always sucks me right in. I couldn’t read this fast enough.

This sexy shocker pairs a sinister vibe with tongue-in-cheek humor, all set in a rustic Airbnb in Wyoming. With perfectly placed twists and a jaw-dropping ending, You Shouldn't Have Come Here is deliciously dark and completely addictive. Fans of Samantha Downing will devour this!

This is the second books by Jeneva Rose that I have read and it is certain to say I’m a fan. The suspense and mystery were just the right amount . The setting and characters were perfect!
