Great thriller with a little romance thrown in for good measure. This book has me second guessing every using Air bnb! I loved the short chapters that alternative between the characters. Just when you think you know what is going on...the end will leave you wondering what just happened!
Grace is pleasantly surprised that the owner of the Airbnb she rented is very attractive and seems to be falling for her, but she still has the feeling that something is right. None of the characters are reliable and trying to figure out who to believe is impossible.

I finally finished 𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑆ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑𝑛'𝑡 𝐻𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝐻𝑒𝑟𝑒 by @jenevaroseauthor and I was not disappointed! I’ve heard nothing but great things about this author and although this was the first book I’ve read by her it won’t be the last.

𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑆ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑𝑛'𝑡 𝐻𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝐻𝑒𝑟𝑒 is 100% an atmospheric thriller, set in an AirBnB in beautiful Wyoming with a twisty plot. The first 60% is an extreme slow burn, however this worked for this story because it kept the tension thick and the questions flowing.

Several unreliable characters, creepy personalities, and lots of lies and secrets made this an unpredictable
& clever thriller!

✨✨✨✨

Special thanks to @netgalley and @blackstonepublishing for the early copy! PUB date is April 25th!

SYNOPSIS: “ Grace Evans, an overworked New Yorker looking for a total escape from her busy life, books an Airbnb on a ranch in the middle of Wyoming. When she arrives, she's pleasantly surprised to find that the owner is a handsome man by the name of Calvin Wells. But there are things Grace discovers that she's not too pleased about: A lack of cell phone service. A missing woman. And a feeling that something isn't right with the town.

Despite her uneasiness and misgivings from Calvin's friends and family, the two grow close and start to fall for one another. However, as her departure date nears, things between them start to change for the worse. Grace grows wary of Calvin as his infatuation for her seems to turn into obsession. Calvin fears that Grace is hiding something from him.

Told from dual points of view, You Shouldn't Have Come Here is a thrill ride and a cautionary tale of what can go wrong when you open up your house and your heart to a total stranger.”

Ok, listen. My review for this is going to be kind of short and to the point. I’ve seen so many rave reviews, so I know I’m the unpopular opinion here, but this was kind of a dud for me.

I expected this to be more of a thriller or at least get the wheels turning in my head a little bit. None of that happened for me until about the 70% mark. Every single character gave me major red flags, which I guess was the point, but I couldn’t get fully into it because of that. I found myself rolling my eyes at each situation more times than not. I was looking forward to this one, so I’m super bummed it was a dud for me. 2.5 ⭐️ (rounded to 3)

Thank you to Netgalley, Blackstone Publishing, and Jeneva Rose for this e-arc. Check out You Shouldn’t Have Come Here on its pub date 4/23!

Grace takes a break from her hectic life in NY where she works in finance. She decides on renting an air b and b on a ranch in the middle of W.yom,ing. She quickly determines that it was a mistake but cant leave the quite handsome owner Calvin. Grace is not welcomed by the townspeople and Calvins female friend Charlotte who wants more wants Grace gone- and fast. Grace needs to figure out who she can trust - Calvin, the townspeople, herself? These are the questions that develop in the book. I liked the book and it kept me entertained and told a good story. It was a bit slow at times but the ending was not predictable so thats a good thing.

Grace decides to take a mini vacation away from the city and lands in Wyoming at an Airbnb. When she arrives the owner of the place Calvin is smitten with her. A country boy and a city girl! What is they say about opposites attract?

I loved the layout of this novel which chronicles every day of her vacation. Between flirty exchanges, a cast of eclectic characters, and strange occurrences, this novel had all the CREEP factor.
🌲
As the days go by things get intense. No cell service, a missing girl, a vendetta and other things happen that kept me reading this book and I could not put it down! I love how she gave a shout out to Colleen Hoover! I was blown away with all the twists in this novel, especially the last one! Jeneva you nailed it!

Jeneva Rose is one to watch. Ever since I read her first novel The Perfect Marriage she continues to deliver amazing books. I just picked up her novels under her pen name J.D. Adler which is now under Jenva’s name. 🥰

It hurts me to write this review but I didn't love this one. While I loved The Perfect Marriage and One of Us is Dead, this one just missed the mark for me. It was suspenseful because going in you know something has to happen but it was a very slow burn until the end which, while there was a twist, was somewhat predictable and felt rushed. All the elements of a good thriller are there but they just didn't come together in the best way. It's a fast read and I did find some of the dialogue very witty but overall just not my favorite from Jeneva Rose.

What a great thriller! I thouroughly enjoyed reading this, There was a great thriller element to it, and left me guessing thoughout so much of the book! However, the last 50 pages or so, I felt like it took a major left turn into weird. While it was still really good, it felt more horror-eque to me than thriller-esque. That being said, I was hooked and flew through this book!

Wow….I was not expecting that ending at all!

This book totally went on a direction that I didn’t see coming and honestly, that’s exciting. I read “The Perfect Marriage” and absolutely loved it. Jeneva just has a way of writing that makes you gasp at the plot twists. Not gonna lie, I want another book cause this has the potential to be a series.

The only thing I didn’t care for was the author using CoHo books as a “get the girl” teaching tool. You should not promote authors that glorify domestic abuse.

I was so excited to get Jeneva's newest novel and it didn't disappoint! I believe she gets better with every book and this is no exception. This was intriguing, mysterious, and kept my attention the entire time. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Jeneva did it again. Thanks to Blackstone Publishing for the early access on this read. But WOW. I found this book searching through Jeneva’s TikTok after reading both The Perfect Marriage & One of Us is Dead.

We start out with Grace, a woman from the big city looking to get away. She books an AirBnB with Calvin, a ranch owner in Wyoming. A relationship blossomed but Grace sees things aren’t adding up. You see the dynamic change as Grace learns the truth about Calvin’s past.

Jeneva sets up the story perfectly, makes you fall in love with both Grace & Calvin. She makes you second guess yourself as things aren’t always as you see them. Another great twisty thriller read. Looking forward to the next one!

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Sweet romance; somewhat predictable.

I was so excited to finally read a Jeneva Rose novel but this fell flat to me. after hearing so much about the perfect marriage, i was ready. very much a "insta love" trope that i am not a fan of, pretty predictable, was hard to get through until around 60% then it only slightly picked up. i gave it a 2 star rating because it could not hold my attention

Better check those Airbnb reviews before you check in..:
Looking for an escape Grace Evans throws a dart at a map and where ever it lands is her next vacation, her next stop is a Wyoming ranch. When she pulls up she meets the handsome ranch owner Calvin. They immediately hit it off and there is some flirting. I mean he walks around shirtless and he has an amazing body. They can’t deny they have chemistry. It’s soon apparent the town people aren’t thrilled with Grace whose grabbing the attention of Calvin. Grace is just looking for some fun and maybe vacation romance. Immediately Calvin is a bit clingy, it doesn’t help the house doesn’t have wifi or cell service. When the police begin investigating the disappearance of a young woman who was supposed to be staying at the ranch before Grace arrived, Grace begins to feel a bit nervous, plus now her car isn’t working. As the day that Grace is supposed to be leaving gets closer she’s starting to feel that she may not be able to check out.. ! I loved this book I finished it in a day and the ending was amazing! A must read!!

Grace takes a little vaca in Wyoming to get away from the city. She rolls into an Airbnb in the country. Farm life is far from what she’s used to, but she takes to the owner, Calvin, as he teaches her a bit about farm life.

A weird relationship develops as Calvin and Grace interact with each other. Secrets come to light, strange things happen, and Grace wonders about Calvin’s trustworthiness.

The ending is quite a zinger!

I dislike the characters in this book, yet that is what made the book what it is! My mind was swirling around like a cow in a tornado as I kept guessing what was going on with each of them and finding out I was wrong every time. Calvin and Grace topped the cake, but the minor characters also had many flaws.

Grace learns to fish, helps around the farm, swims in the stream, cooks for Calvin, and even rides a horse while she is there. It sounds like she’s having the time of her life, but several odd things are also happening. I questioned Grace and Calvin’s actions more than once, but the ending makes me look at those actions in a different way.

As you continue reading, the plot turns into much more than you thought it would. What starts as a relaxing vacation turns into a lot more, bringing lies and danger to the forefront. Can Calvin be trusted? Will this be a vacation to remember? If so, will it be a good or a bad memory?

I love Jeneva her books. I think that she a very interesting and unique storytelling ability and I always look forward to her new works. You Shouldn’t Have Come Here was a very fast read for me, I liked the premise and I loved that there were multiple puzzle pieces handed to us. However, I did feel that too much of where the pieces needed to go was so obvious. I loved the idea of the ending, but it needed more of a why and how into that happened. For the long build up it kind of let me unsatisfied that it was done with little details. I would definitely pick up another Jeneva book in the future and this was an entertaining one, but nothing that blew me off me socks.

Though You Shouldn’t Have Come Here started a little slowly for me, the Queen of Twists delivered again!

Grace books a get-away for one in remote Wyoming on a whim, and stays at an Airbnb without Wi-Fi and cell service. Disconnecting can be nice, right?

Well, wrong. Things aren’t adding up. Grace’s host is a gorgeous man, who is falling hard for her… but Grace worries what he’s hiding.

This slow burn exploded (literally, lol) in the last “days”. I loved it. I recommend it to anyone who read The Perfect Marriage and loved the ending!!

This book had me HOOKED. Jeneva does it again. The way she writes just hooks me from the very beginning. This book kept me on my toes and had me up reading just “one more chapter”. I can’t wait till this comes out and I can recommend it to everyone.

This book is a repeat of what Jeneva Rose is capable of! I thought I had everything figured out and then BOOM.. a huge twist I never saw coming! This book had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning! Who doesn't love a good love story with a twist.

Jeneva Rose is one of my all time favorite authors. So I was dying to read this one! Overall I really enjoyed it and it was a great read. The only things I will say is the pacing was a little slower than her books normally are. Up until about the 65% mark this could have passed for a romance novel. It's hard to give comments on the ending without including any spoilers, so I will just say I was hoping for a little more of the "why." Like a little more of the reasoning behind they this person did what they did. BUT it was still a great little twist ending and it was easily bingeable!
