This is a great companion to the Little Prince, to help teach children the real important things, and to think for themselves.
Very sweet little book for younger readers based on the little prince that I imagine would be a hit with many young children.
It's a timeless classic, isn't it? This book holds a special place in my heart. It's not just a story; it's a profound exploration of life, love, and human nature. And the character of the Little Prince himself... he's so innocent yet wise beyond his years. A book that speaks to readers of all ages, reminding us to cherish the simple joys of life and to never lose sight of what truly matters.
Pros: I have read and loved The Little Prince and was thrilled to see this version that can be read with young readers. The illustrations are, of course, fantastic. I can see this book being shown to a group of kids while being read aloud. I also liked that questions were added throughout that could be asked to a child while reading the book together.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Thank you to NetGalley and Chouette Publishing | CrackBoom! Books for the opportunity to read this book.
In a magical retelling, this children’s book portrays The Little Prince as he builds up relationships with people and places along his adventure. This was a fun retelling perfect for young readers ages 5 and up!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with access to read this book!
I grew up with the classic story of the Little Prince and I was so excited to find this ARC celebrating the 80th anniversary of the original story. In this addition the author gives us a deeper look into the story. We look closer at the connections between the places and the people the Little Prince finds along the way. On his journey he discovers so much more like understanding knowledge and experience and wealth. The author then gives us questions we can answer together to better understand each thought. This book is a great way to help children better understand the story and concept. It is created especially for children ages 5 and up. This is an absolutely magical way of looking at the classic story. Your family will love this book and it will soon become a family treasure.
1000 stars
This was a very cute book, straight to the point, as it took the major events in the original story. I enjoyed and appreciated the questions that went along with each part of the story to have the reader relate and think about themselves in comparison to the characters in the story. I can imagine how lovely the glow in the dark stars add to the story!
This was an educational read meant to teach children pocket sized lessons that are important for them to learn. Each scenario is depicted in detail and then there is a reflection page. It’s an interesting read for sure.
Saw The Little Prince everywhere on my trip to Paris. This was a cute, short read perfect for young children. A fun way to learn.
The Little prince is such a delightful story and teaches so many good lessons so I was excited to see this version of a classic story. The illustrations are the highlight of the book. I found the intended audience difficult to understand with a mix of simple language for children, and then more elaborate questions which young children would have trouble understanding. The original tale is lost in the abbreviated version which makes it disappointing. Thanks for letting me read this copy
'The Journey of The Little Prince' is a classical retelling of Antonine De Saint-Exupery's first publication 'The Little Prince', translated by Katherine Woods. To celebrate the 80th anniversary of 'The Little Prince,' a magical retelling of the story was published. It depicts the Little Prince embarking on a journey across many planets to discover what is truly meaningful in life.
Getting bored on his planet, the Little Prince embarks on a journey. He steps into his red plane and takes off. The first planet he visits is ruled by a king. It was strange because there were no subjects in the kingdom. In an attempt to control the Little Prince, the king tried to order him around. He decides to leave.
The Little Prince reflects on his experiences after visiting each planet. In contemplation of the king, he observes,
"Power and its usefulness."
"The Little Prince has just met a king who wants to give
orders and rule his kingdom only to please himself.
The Little Prince is surprised, because this kind of power
is useless.
Sometimes, you may want to make decisions, or even
lead others. This requires you to be responsible and useful."
"Do you like to make decisions?"
"Do you enjoy being the boss in some situations?"
He visits several other planets, where he meets a man in a very big hat who thinks everyone should admire him, and on another planet, a strange businessman who counts stars he believes belong to HIM! Another planet he visits is inhabited by a geographer who loves to learn all there is to know about oceans, deserts, mountains, and cities. The strangest thing is, he has never left his planet. A trip to Earth would be interesting, he suggests. The Little Prince follows his advice.
This book is so much more than just a book. It is about life. I am sharing only a very small portion of the book. I believe 'The Journey of The Little Prince' is a true treasure that should be purchased to stand alongside the original 'The Little Prince'.
This is a book that I highly recommend purchasing.
I love the book The little prince. This is a shortened version for a younger audience. It is a great book to read together with a parent, and discuss the “points” after each different person the little Prince meets.
Over all a cute little book.
I am always on the lookout for books to add to my daughter’s library, and I think this will be a great addition to her collection when she’s a little older! I’ve had a fondness for The Little Prince since reading it in high school French class, so I was thrilled when I saw a new retelling was coming aimed at younger children. This retelling keeps the charming feel of the illustrations but makes the story much more understandable for a younger audience. I love that there are questions that will eventually lead to deeper conversations with my daughter! While this doesn’t feel quite as wonderful as the original, I do think it’ll be a great starting point to instill a love of the story in children.
Thank you to NetGalley and Chouette Publishing for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review!
The Little Prince was read to me in 5th grade and I read it again in my French class. I also watched the film for this one. This illustrated story is like a re-telling of the original book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
I always loved this story so much, even more so as an adult, because I'm reminded of my childhood and the lost of innocence that comes with adulthood. With each person he meets, he also learns something new. The book may seem like it is for children but the lessons it teaches is for kids and adults alike.
What a beautiful book! Following on from the original Little Prince book, this one showcases different things such as wealth, knowledge, appearance, inner beauty and power.
Some are good, some not so. Seen from the Little Prince's perspective, it gets you thinking about what is important in life and what makes you happy.
All well and good being rich but does it make you appreciate what you have? Do compliments help you or them feel better? Do you want to learn about something and experience it too - try it out for yourself?
Enjoyable read! Cute illustrations too.
A short version of the classic The Little Prince geared to younger children. I enjoyed how reflective questions were included to guide parents and children in discussion about different character traits. Ideal for younger readers.
Really enjoyed the Journey of The Little Prince by Corinne Delporte with Antoine de Saint-Exupery's illustrations. The Little Prince is one of my all time favorite books, and this is a great way to introduce Children to it! I of course love the classic illustrations. My only complaint is that I think it could have been a bit longer!
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and everyone that contributed to the existence of this book for providing a free copy in exchange for an honest review!
3.75⭐
I personally haven't read "The Little Prince" as a kid, but this cute little book encouraged me to get to the original novel soon. Despite being a book for little kids, this retelling is packed with lessons to learn and things to consider.
😍 The good:
The book is adorable and summarises well the key ideas of "The Little Prince", encouraging discussions on it. The addition of the original illustrations is also a great thing.
😅 The not-so-good:
Not much to say, as I feel that it's rather hard to go wrong with such cute books. The story itself lacked depth though, as the summary was really simplified and the emphasis was on the lessons. I believe that the original book should be read before this.
Very cute book. I love the classic, “The Little Prince.” This book explains some adventures as the prince travels, but also shows how some traits in people are not good. While the information on traits takes a little from the story, they are a great way to spark conversations with children.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the Advance Reader's Copy in exchange for my honest review.
This book is a follow-up of the original "The Little Prince". It contains reflections for each of the men that The Little Prince had visited during his journay, what they symbolize, and it came with a reflection/journaling prompt.
This is a good book for children and adult to start journaling with The Little Prince as its reference.
