This book is a whirlwind of multiple storylines, villains, twists, and characters. It feels overly busy, like cramming three novels into one. The protagonist, Meribel, moves to Georgia to escape her stalker but fails to realize that her move won't keep him away. The introduction of suspicious neighbors and romantic interests adds to the complexity. With one-dimensional characters and a rushed ending, the book falls short.
Meribel knows that fame comes with a price-and in this case the price is the creepy letters from a fan. However, the letters pick up in both intensity and very detailed accounts of what the sender plans to do to Meribel. After spending years in front of the camera Meribel has developed a unique ability where she can tell when someone is watching her. When an incredible opportunity for her career pops up in Atlanta she and her daughter move across the country in hopes for a new start and the chance to get away from the stalker they nicknamed Marker Man. However, things in Atlanta do not go as planned. The letters start again, Meribel's past is catching up from all sides and her new neighbor seems to have a keen interest in both her and her daughter-and when everyone collides Meribel has never been in more danger. Joshilyn Jackson's latest release is told from multiple viewpoints and will keep readers guessing throughout. The unique twists Jackson is known for are in no shortage in With My Little Eye-great read!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this Arc in exchange for my honest feedback.
Thank you @netgalley and publisher @williammorrow for the advanced eARC!

With my Little Eye by Joshilyn
Jackson is my first book by this author. It was a quick read and I wanted to find out what happened, however there were a lot of loose ends and unfinished storylines.
I loved that it took place in Atlanta, my hometown, and that it had some good twists and turns. However, to me it divided into two story arcs and they never reconnected, leaving some unresolved questionsโฆand not in a โmakes you really think about the endingโ kind of way. More like a โwhy was that story line relevant?โ kind of way.
Read this if you want a quick thriller, donโt mind a cross country stalker, and do not need your thrillers to be totally wrapped up at the end.
I wanted to DNF 10% in, and shouldโve done that.
Thereโs literally nothing that builds towards the ending and then bang all of a sudden thereโs finally actions in the last 30 pages.
I rarely give ratings under 3 but unfortunately this book is just not for me.

Thank you NetGalley and HarpersCollins for the ARC.
Meribel Mills is an actress who is moves from LA to her hometown in Georgia. She is single with an adopted daughter with autism. She is leaving LA for an acting job but also because she has a stalker. Marker Man, as he is called from the sick and twisted notes he sends. To write them, he uses those scented markers that we all wanted when we were kids.
I very much enjoyed the plot line. While this wasnโt a book that kept me on my toes, it was a steady burn and I was engaged throughout. Right toward the beginning, I thought I knew who Marker Man was but then it was obvious that i was wrong. When Meribel and her daughter move into their new apartment, this introduces some new suspects; Cooper, his on-off again girlfriend, Xena the homeless teen, and Cam her boyfriend from LA she broke up with when she moved but now who has come to GA.
Marker Man ends up finding Meribel. How he did is a bit murky, but he starts to send notes to her new place.
Marker Man was pretty tame in the grand scheme of things. He wasnโt the scariest nemesis to have because he was just sending letters. He had never made himself known. However, maybe thatโs the scariest part that she was around him without knowing. There wasnโt any really any terrifying parts, but this one was a slow burn.
There is another story woven into this separate from Meribel and Marker Man. That story was eerie and a good addition. I wonโt ago into detail as it would be a spoiler for other readers.
I really liked Honor, Meribels daughter. I donโt personally know anyone with autism and it was fascinating getting to know her.
I did not like that there was not an epilogue. I wanted know what happened with the girls and Meribel.
All in all, a great read.
Right at the beginning of the book, I thought, "Finally! She's back!" I've loved Joshilyn Jackson's early novels, but the last couple of left me disappointed. This one starts out like the old Jackson! Jackson is so great at writing characters - real characters! They are deep and flawed and whole. I really liked Meribel, a B list actress best known for a TV series from years ago, and her young teen daughter, Honor. They move across the country to take advantage of a new acting opportunity that comes just in time to get away from a stalker in LA getting a little too close. But has the stalker found them? Who can she trust? A little long in the middle, but overall a great read!
A BIG thank you to William Morrow and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this one!
I tried to like this one, I really did, but I just couldn't get into it. The pacing was off. The characters didn't excite me, and ultimately I really just didn't care what happened. DNF at 50%
AHH! I am so thankful to Joshilyn Jackson, William Morrow, NetGalley, and so many more for sending me both a physical copy and digital access to this twisty thriller before publication day which is April 25, 2023.
I don't recommend reading this book at night, or alone in the dark. Maybe it's just my own fears, but this book definitely left me feeling like I was being watched.
This book is vivid, filled with creepy vibes, and leaves you suspicious of every character/man that Meribel has been in contact with. It's 100% thriller. It took me several days to read my way through because I couldn't read it at night - I'm a chicken, I admit it! But I also couldn't stop - I had to have a resolution.
And the scented markers... That took me back to my own childhood.
With My Little Eye is the latest thriller from Joshilyn Jackson. This is a suspenseful stalker story following an actress, best known for playing a part in a teen show many years ago, who moves across the country to distance herself from the man who is hounding and harassing her. He utilizes letters to victimize her with increasing nastiness and vulgarity, all dawn in marker, effectively giving him the moniker Marker Man. After moving across the country Meribel feels as if sheโs being watched. How could the Marker Man have found her? Could it possibly be her ex who still lives in the area? Every man she comes across is suspect, each one perceived as a threat.
There are multiple points of view in this thriller and quite a few plot lines to keep up with. There also seems to be an excessive amount of extraneous information shared that doesnโt really contribute to the plot. The characters can quite immature and even cringy at points, aside from the intriguing Honor, Meribelโs adopted teenage daughter who is on the spectrum.
This story has a slow build-up, before it really kicks into gear. It is rather unbelievable, but does raise some interesting, thought-provoking points and the latter half of the story is much more engaging than the beginning. It will keep you guessing and there are predictably some unseen twists at the end, which is always fun. Though Iโve enjoyed Ms. Jacksonโs previous books, and will continue to read her thrillers, this one wasnโt a favorite.
When I tell you I ATE up Joshilyn Jacksonโs 2019 Never Have I ever, I knew she would be another go-to thriller author for me just like Shari Lapena, Megan Miranda and Alice Feeney. So when I heard she had a new one coming out, I was so excited. Mother May I (one of her others) was creepy so I had high hopes.
I wish I could say this met those hopes, but this one was not great for me. I was really frustrated with the ending. It was so creepy for most of the storyline (itโs about a stalker!!) but the ending justโฆ.happened. And then it was over!? I was so confused. Iโm honestly still confused.
It switched POVs, but the chapters werenโt labeled which was a little confusing. So much of the book was likeโฆsetting something upโฆbut then there was no real follow through.
A big bummer for me but Iโll definitely try something by her in the future.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC. This one was way too slow for me! It wasnโt as suspenseful and thrilling as I had hoped.
This book was so slow to begin with. I had a hard time getting through it. It started to pick up and got my attention but then fell flat at the end.

This is the second book Iโve picked up by this author and once again, I am completely disappointedโฆ is this author just not for me?
I wanted to love this book so much more, it had such an interesting premise with a stalker who stalks an actressโฆ but she was a side character? Makes no sense.
Usually, when I pick up a thriller itโs because I want something tense and quick, but this book was so slow. It took a while for anything interesting to happen.
I did love Honorโs character, but everyone else was so unlikeable.
The autistic rep with Honor was great, but everything else wasnโt my kind of thing. The ending was so underwhelming and it was way too slowโฆ this may not be an author for me.
Thank you so much NetGalley and William Morrow for the review copy in exchange for my honest review!

Who moves across the country to elude a stalker? A woman, still working as a actress. That's who. Such is the start of this implausible book that I really regretted even reading. The main character is truly unlikable and frankly quite dumb. The men in this story were unrealistically portrayed as well. The main mystery revolves around finding out just who is stalking this actress. I didn't really care in the end. Not the worst book I have ever read but I cannot recommend it to anyone.
Meribel Mills and her daughter move from Los Angeles to Atlanta for a fresh start and to evade a stalker. Meribel is a famous actress and she starts getting creepy fan mail from a stalker she nicknames Marker Man. After their move, she begins to notice odd things around their new home, such as mens cologne on her sheets and missing items. Suddenly every man in her life becomes a suspect and she has no idea who her stalker could be.
I honestly didn't care much for this book. It wasn't completely terrible but it could have been improved in several ways. My main issue was how slow the first part of the book was, I prefer ones that are faster paced. The other part of the book kind of made up for it but I still wasn't overly impressed with this book. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.
I was really excited for this book and was eager to start it. As I got further into it I found myself bored and wanting to pick up something else. I ended up DNFing it. I wasnโt connecting with the characters and ended up not caring about the outcome.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for my honest review.
What a total page turner! I had to keep reading just to find out the next event. There were multip.e characters that fit the stalker but was I shocked at the end? Yes! This book was well written with great characters and I love the authors writing style. It was a great read.
This book was very good. It was twisty and hard to put down. I enjoyed these characters and their back stories. I also loved how it changed views from different people.
With My Little Eye is a super creepy read. Told from multiple perspectives, former actress Meribel moves to Georgia to escape a stalker, but soon comes to find out someone is still watching her. Though enjoyable and entertaining, this book did fall a little short for me. Nothing really felt believable, and there were several major subplots that just felt disconnected from the rest of the story. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves creepy thrillers.
