The prequel (which was a separate book but I hate that I have it separate from the main book) was very fast-paced but this one isn't.
My main problem with this book is that I got bored. I honestly looked at the end to see who Kennedy's stalker was. I just couldn't connect. The pacing was okay at first but then I felt like it slowed and the pages just weren't moving anywhere.
The whole town was very hostile towards Kennedy after she came back to the point I'd call bullying. It's one thing to feel protective of Liam but it's quite another to hate someone, not to mention no one knew why Kennedy had to leave him in the first place (well explained in the prequel).
I enjoyed reading this book. It has a surprising plot that will keep you turning the pages!
I should have known when I sold my mansion in Bel Air and flew to the bottom of the world with a suitcase and a dream that nothing would go according to plan.
Returning to the small town where I’d spent the happiest year of my life had seemed like a great idea once the last of my younger siblings had left the nest. I’d put aside my own happiness for long enough. It was time to do something for me.
But Destiny Falls isn’t the same welcoming place I remember. The tight-knit community has rallied around Liam Braddock. They seem to think the broody firefighter needs protection… from me.
As for the man himself? He’s convinced I abandoned him for fame and fortune. He doesn’t know about the impossible decision I had to make, or the nights I cried myself to sleep wishing he was there.
I lost him once, but this time, I’m not giving up on us. I’ll do whatever it takes to prove we belong together.
The problem is, I’m not the only interloper in town. Someone seems to have it out for me, and if I’m not careful, the sparks firing between Liam and I will be short-lived…and so will we.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Kennedy and Liam. They have known each other all their lives. They were in love with each other. One day Kennedy left for Los Angeles. She called Liam and broke up with him. Several years later She returned to her hometown. Liam did not want anything to do with her. They both had trust issues but together they work them out and fall in love.
Wow what a book thank you ever so much for the opportunity to review. I could not put it down. Would definitely recommend to others!
From the very first page of this book, I was stunned, mesmerised. Written with a ferocious passion that'll knock the wind out of you!
Saying I devoured this book would be an understatement. I cannot believe how fast I read this and how immediately invested I was in the characters. Kennedy and Liam are just magic together and I love the texts or emails unsent to each other at the beginning of each chapter. Their love story was beautiful but then adding in the stalker suspense to it all took it to another level. I cannot wait to read the next book.
Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley and Victory Editing for my honest review and opinion. The beginning was enthralling and relatable but quickly became unrealistic with healing and side loyalties. The stalker was a nice touch.
Kennedy heads back to Destiny Falls and the man she never stopped loving, he needs to forgive her ands once he knows why she left him that isn’t hard to do. Yet her stalker doesn’t want her to have a HEA. Well written story.
This was so cute. A quick, enjoyable read!
For once the author doesn't make the communication non-existent - thank you!
Kennedy and Liam fell in love with each other when they were barely old enough to understand it. When she went back home to tie loose ends so she could move to New Zealand to be with him something tragic happens. This has her changing what she wanted to do to what she needed to do. Eleven years later she finally makes it back to New Zealand and not to a warm welcome. Liam was born and raised in the small town that centered around the tourist season and the ski resort. He met Kennedy, fell in love, and then lost her. He was heart broken and never understood why. Kennedy Carter, now a movie star is back in Destiny Falls hoping to rekindle her romance with Liam Braddock whom she abandoned eleven years prior. Liam wants nothing to do with Kennedy, nor do any of the residents of Destiny Falls except for Grace whom runs the cottage she’s renting. As Kennedy slowly settles back into Destiny Falls every attempt she makes to explain herself to Liam is met with resistance. Until tragedy strikes and then a stalker situation puts Kennedy’s life in jeopardy.
Thank you Victory Editing Netgalley Co-op for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
3.5 stars! I would've given this a 4 if it weren't kinda surface-level. To be honest, it started off very promising, the angst was nicely written and all. However, it seemed the main characters were too quick to start everything and to make things worse their healing period wasn't that long. I would've expected more grovelling from both sides (Liam because he'd treated her badly in the beginning) AND from the whole town who seemed to antagonise Kennedy just because they were loyal to Liam.
The plot was kinda okay, and it was a nice plot twist with the stalker revelation. Although it felt like that one character was unnecessary, just to throw readers off (by making it very predictable that I immediately it wasn't him who was the stalker).
I liked this book and enjoyed it, but I think it was short and inadequate. I'm interested to read more books in the Destiny Falls series, though! Nate and Grace? SIGN ME UP!
Quick Summary: A second chance romance
My Review: Come Back to You by Alexa Rivers is a true second chance romance. At its core, this book is about two people who had forever in their hands, only to have it torn from them due to tragic circumstances.
The beauty of this romance is revealed when readers are invited to witness one person's bravery and decision to chase their dream of happily ever after.
Right before the dream of real reconciliation can become a reality, a new tragedy occurs. A betrayal of the worst kind threatens everything.
My Final Say: Readers will be immediately drawn into this story of romantic intrigue. They may even be charmed by Destiny Falls and its residents.
Rating: 3.75/5

Happy release day to Come Back to You by @alexariversauthor
I was lucky to receive a copy from NetGalley for this book and I have to say I will be continuing this series and diving in to the authors backlist!
With this book, there is a prequel free to download on Amazon to see the reason why Kennedy and Liam are apart! I highly recommend reading this first and then diving straight in to Come Back To You! I inhaled this one in one sitting, I just didn’t want to put it down!
A book filled with love. It is really ideal to start reading (STAY WITH YOU) a beautiful prequel to this book before reading this.
KENNEDY - The female lead is forced to be the gaurdian for four kids after her mom and step dad's death. At a young age she's forced to be parent and she excels in raising up the kids. In this time she breaks up with her boyfriend (Liam) MALE LEAD in order to not force him in her life.
LIAM - The male lead is completely broken after their break up. When they meet after eleven years in book he avoids her to maximum. But the care and affection he has on her is shown most of the time.
I really loved the unsent texts they had for each other. The main characters did have a happy ending after eleven years spent apart.
Blair (Heroine's brother) was also protective about her and I'm sure most of them would love to read more about him. ❤️
Tropes:-
Star heroine
Small Town
Charming hero
LA - New Zealand
Firefighter
Let's find the stalker
A comfortable read 💖 with various emotion, mystery and love.
This small town, second chance romance between a celebrity and a firefighter was the perfect way for me to spend a Saturday. This is a first book in a new series by Alexa Rivers (Destiny Falls), and it is also the first book I have every read by Alexa Rivers, and it had definitely sparked my interest in exploring her back works! I found Rivers' writing style to be extremely engaging and accessible. I was quickly and swiftly drawn into this romance and devoured the story through to the end. Rivers mixes together the rebuilding of a relationship with the mystery of a stalker. The balance between intrigue and the romance was done really well in my opinion, the intrigue really helps to motivate the feelings between the hero and heroine in a lovely way. If you love your romance with a bit of intrigue and two people relearning each other then you should definitely check out this romance.
Kennedy and Liam fell in love when they were young and still teens, while Kennedy was visiting the small town in New Zealand that Liam calls home. The start of their romance can be read in a prequel novella (that is currently free on Amazon), I did not start with the novella and still was fully invested into their love story. Kennedy has spent the past 12 years raising her siblings and falling into a career as an actor, which she never expected. But now she is back in Destiny Fall's ready to rediscover the happiness she left behind, but will the town and her stalker prevent her and Liam from learning about the past and rebuilding a future?
I really enjoyed Kennedy as a heroine, she is down to earth, her heart is so big and always in the right place, and she is self-less (sometimes to a fault). I love that she finally feels bold enough and in a place in her life that she can take back control of her future. Kennedy does not regret her sacrifices but she also knows that now is the time to fight for what she wants and needs. Liam is a strong and kind hero, he is a family man, he is a protector and he wants to keep his heart safe from the potential heartbreak that he might feel from Kennedy. Watching these two circle each other as Kennedy tries to open herself up to Liam creates the perfect tension and angst that helps to ramp up the chemistry between these two. I love that Liam slowly starts to see Kennedy for the new woman she is, as well as the woman he has always loved. I love that his jealousy and protective side are always instinctual when it comes to Kennedy and that he finds it hard to fight his feelings for Kennedy. I also love that once these two are able to move into a place of discovery and openness they embrace the feelings they have always had for each other. Rivers does a really beautiful job starting each chapter with a glimpse into the mindset of both Kennedy and Liam throughout the years of separation. I really enjoy these small insights which really gave a gravity to the depth of their feelings. This novel was really beautifully sweet and the chemistry between Liam and Kennedy was sensual. When these two move back into a physical relationship it really helps to solidify the strength of their feelings and trust and shows how beautiful and bright their future can be.
This small town, second chance romance was such a lovely read that I would highly recommend it to anyone. I really loved the small town New Zealand setting, I love the familial support that we see and I am left delighted and excited for future novels in this series!
This was quick and cute read. I would have liked a little more focus on the romance and a little less on the stalker, but I'll definitely check out the next books in the series.
Wow, I just finished Come Back to You by Alexa Rivers and I really liked this book. This is a second chance romance for Liam and Kennedy. 10 years have passed since they fell in love and Kennedy is finally in a place where she can go back and see if she and Liam have a chance at a HEA. This book was so very different than most of the second chance romances that I have read. I worked because they lived 10,000 (or more) miles apart, so keeping up with what the other was doing was difficult. Another reason I thought this book was different was the extended epilogue feel. We get four chapters after the suspenseful part of the book is over. Each chapter jumps further into the future (not a lot, but a little). And I loved the way I really felt like I had traveled that time with them to their HEA. It was just wonderful. Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy!
This checked off everything I look for in a book. Was not disappointed. Really enjoyed this book. I will read more from this author. Must read.
I am so greatful I got the opportunity to have an ARC of this book! It turned out to be my favorite that I have read in awhile.
This book deserves a full 5 stars!
At first I didn't think that Liam was going to hear Kennedy out on what happened 11 years ago when She left him.
As time went on, you could tell he still cared about her.
Especially when her stalker started getting more serious. Liam wanted to keep Kennedy safe.
I was shocked that the stalker ended up being Tyler, Blairs bestfriend whom grew up around Kennedy. That caught me by surprise.
I honestly thought her stalker was Aidan.
However Aidan ended up just being a guy who wanted to spend time with Kennedy.
I love that Kennedy and Liam got married and FINALLY get to have their happy ever after together. They deserve it.
