She used to work for the mob?! And she recognizes the bully from those days?
The murder victim is no surprise (the kind of character you love to hate). But even if you (or me) have not read the earlier books in series you just know that the apparent killer certainly is not guilty, and the group of friends will work hard to prove it.
There is a lot of family issues as the ongoing fun that snakes in and out of the sleuthing. The whole book is just too much fun!
I requested and received an EARC from Kensington Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

Jake and Ellie have a battle on their hands when another chocolate shop opens up, trying to put them out of business. When the owner is murdered and Ellie the prime suspect, they face their toughest investigation yet. Loved this title.

Another wonderful addition to her Death by Chocolate Mystery series! Book six doesn't disappoint! Great read!

Another great cosy which I was drawn to by the title (food, anything with food I love!) and I can say I enjoyed this book for many reasons.

Set in Maine in the USA and revolving around Jake and Ellie and the Chocolate Moose this is in some ways typical as it involves a murder and of course an investigation. And it is everything you want from a good cosy murder mystery and more as it has some food that sounds marvelous and some recipes to try yourself. I love that!

This is a very entertaining read especially when you have a treat and a cuppa with you while reading it. It keeps you reading and keeps you entertained throughout and in amongst the murder there are some light-hearted moments that will make you laugh and smile.

A delicious read to say the least.

Sarah Graves Death By Chocolate Marshmallow Pie brings us back to Maine and the delicious bake shop, Chocolate Moose. Jake and Ellie are up to their necks in danger when a bakery competitor move s in on them--using unscrupulous means to steal Chocolate Moose customers. Mixing in a murder and a kidnapping, the mystery deepens and becomes very twisty.

Sarah Graves has a knack for mystery and murder that makes her mysteries fast paced and tense , yet there are humorous moments that lighten the mood. I love long running series that allow me to really connect with the characters! This one ticks all my boxes.
Thank you to NetGalley, Kensington, and Sarah Graves for giving me the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book. All opinions are my own. I enjoy sharing great reads with my friends and followers.

Jake Tiptree is back in Sarah Graves’ fast paced and entertaining Death By Chocolate Marshmallow Pie. Jake and her best friend are back in trouble again when Ellie is found at the scene of a competing business owner’s murder with incriminating evidence. The clock is running for Jake and Ellie to ferret out the real murderer before Ellie is charged with his murder. There are several suspects and the most likely is missing. The investigation is further muddied when more assaults follow. Jake is also concerned that fallout from her own checkered past might be the root cause as she recognized the murdered man from years ago.
This is a very enjoyable cozy mystery with a couple of subplots to add further layers to the book. All the storylines are satisfactorily tied up by the story’s ending. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery. Though this is part of a long running series, the book stands alone.  Four stars.
I was given a free ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions stated are solely my own.

Death by Chocolate Marshmallow Pie was an interesting read. The story takes place in the town of Eastport, Maine. Jacobia (Jake) Tiptree is the main character. She is the owner of the Chocolate Moose themed baking store. Ellie White is her friend and baker who works at the store. Bob Arnold is the policeman and friend. A new store called Choco's owned by Brad Fairway sells the same things as the Moose but at a lower prices. Jake had a run-in with Brad telling one of her customers that their flour had bugs in it. Because of the bad things Brad is saying the local shelter went with Brad instead of them. They called to tell them so. While at his store she recognizes him but he did not recognized her. In her past Jake had been a manager guys whose large illegal incomes would arrive in manila folders. They needed someone trustworthy to handle all their money and invest it and move it around and make it grow.

Later that day Ellie calls Jake and tells her to come to the Moose. She knows why Brad is trying to destroy their business. Ellie's husband, George Valentine heard that Brad has bought the two buildings on either side of the Moose and wants her building so he can build condos. They go over to Choco's and discover Brad is dead with a bullet in his head in his office. Ellie checks on him and gets blood over her hands. Bob comes in and asks them why they were there and Ellie tells him everything. While there Babs Littrell comes into the store to find out what is going on. When she comes out of the store she looks terrified.

The next day Jake comes down and finds her son, Sam there. Bella, Jake's step-mom is upset as her father has decided to move into a retirement home but Bella does not want to go. A man comes and takes him to the home.

Dory Sloan, Bab's personal assistant tells Jake that Bab's is so upset about Brad's death. They live in his guesthouse on his property. Jake comes into the store. He is angry. They have found the weapon and it has Ellie;s name engraved in the handle. She goes and checks the glove compartment in her car but the gun is not there. Bob tells her that it does not look good for her as Brad was shot with her gun and she was the person who found him. Tells her to find a lawyer.

Bella calls Jake and tells her that her father is missing from the retirement home. Jake finds him in their backyard and tells him about Ellie. Things start to happen with all the characters that it is too much for me to put on paper so I will let the reader find out all that is happening.

The story builds up with Ellie's kidnapping. Realizing who killed Brad and others, Jake, Bob and Sam go to find the killer. The climax builds up. The reader will follow along to the exciting ending,

Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Publishing Corp for this ARC.

Not as good as other cozi novels because it lacked the character development I enjoy most. Seemed pretty basic and not very exciting. Also I th out it off that the receipt at the end is not of the title item
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this arc

Jake Tiptree is one of the first cozy mystery characters I came across when I discovered this wonderful genre.
This book is just as exciting as any others and when Ellie finds herself the main suspect in a murder investigation, Jake refuses to give up, determined to uncover the real murderer.
Ellie and Jake make a great team and their investigation techniques always make me giggle.
I highly recommend this book and both series by Sarah Graves.

Summer in Eastport means lobsters and blueberries, though tourists and locals alike always leave a little room for baked goods from The Chocolate Moose. This year’s arts festival, featuring food, games, and rollicking local musicians, means even more sweet-toothed customers. But it’s also bringing competition from a new rival, Choco’s, that’s trying to slice into the action.
Choco’s owner, Brad Fairway, is pulling sneaky stunts to divert Moose patrons to his own shop, and Ellie finally confronts him about his tactics. But when Brad is found dead next day—and the weapon is a gun that belongs to Ellie—it’s only a matter of time before she is charged with the crime.
This cover is adorable and the picture of what a cozy mystery should be. I loved this one and was hungry for sweets throughout the book.

Jake and Ellie have some competition in town with Choco’s, and the owner isn’t shy about trying to take business away from The Chocolate Moose. Not being a shrinking candied violet, Ellie confronts Brad about his low handed tactics.

When Brad is found murdered with Ellie’s gun, she’s the prime suspect. Jake and Ellie need to get cooking if they’re going to solve the mystery and find the real murdered if they don’t want Ellie to go down like a bad soufflé’s for the murder.

What’s better than a really good whodunit? A whodunits that includes drool worthy goodies and recipes to make them! That’s what this series delivers each. and. every. time!

Sarah Graves is one of my favorite authors. She has written several series and this "Death By Chocolate" series is not only mysterious but is hunger inducing. Recipes are included in the book.

Jake and her friend Ellie have been together throughout the carpentry series and now have opened the Chocolate Moose, a waterfront bakery.

Soon, Brad opens a competing bakery and resorts to dirty tricks to try to become the main store.
Then he is found dead. And the gun belongs to Ellie.

Of course they must find the killer before Ellie goes to jail and another murder is committed.

The characters have such a repoire and it is fun to follow these likeable characters through this, and the other mysteries,

I hope that you enjoy this books as much as I did.
