I love being back with these now familiar characters, the author's description of the lodge and and the surrounding acres makes me want to live there. Such kind and loving folks, and most go out of their way to help others.

We are given Lester Lehman, a man I had my doubts about in the last book, but this time, my heart goes out to him. We are also given not one, or two, but three possible matches for him.

There is some drama here, and possible danger, but also some humor, and justice, and you will be page turning for answers, and yes, they do come. When the last page is turned I really wanted to continue in the lives of these people in Coldstream, Missouri!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Kensington, and was not required to give a positive review.

One star
I was so enjoying this until the completely inappropriate scene where the two men tey to get back at Marlene. I had to put it down and delete the book. I read christian fiction so I don't have to read that!

Charlotte Hubbard has written yet another sweet Amish story in her newest release, Family Gatherings at Promise Lodge. I loved it. Five stars.

This is first time reading a book by this author and I must say it won't be my last. What a great book, it was funny, heartwarming and surprising at times. It was like you were living vicariously through the charactors and you wanted to be there. Lester Lehman, a widower lost his wife and is now living at Promise Lodge in a tiny house that I can only imagine down the hill and no bigger than a shed. Marlene Fisher and her brother move to Promis after there parents passed and they are downsizing. She thinks her time has run out in finding a husband and quite content and accepting of her demise. When two weddings are scheduled to take place, family flocks to the lodge and with some thinking they will scoop up on the chance for a new husband. What a hilarious book you won't be able to put down. I received an advance copy through the publisher and my review is based solely on my opinion.

Family Gatherings at Promise Lodge by Charlotte Hubbard is another grate addition to Hubbard’s beloved, Promise Lodge series.

This time we get to share in Lester Lehman‘a and Marlene Fisher‘s story. You will laugh, cry, and spend every minute on the edge of your chair anticipating what will happen when you turn the page.

This whole unexpected journey is a learning experience for both Lester and Marlene. It seems very clearly this is an example of the Scripture from, 1 Corinthians 13:4–8a (ESV) Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

Join Lester and Marlene on their adventure.

Release day for this 5-star book is February 21, 2023.

Charlotte Hubbard did it again! She has created another delightful tale in continuation of the beloved Promise Lodge series. Marlene and her brother, Mose, have just moved to Promise Lodge from the restrictive Coldstream district. Marlene and Lester meet and a budding romance starts. Lester patiently woos Marlene as she deals with the baggage from her past. Meanwhile, Marlene comforts Lester as he deals with two women from his past vying for his affection! Can Lester get rid of these troublesome women as he seeks true love again? Will Marlene be able to overcome the trials of her past and fully embrace true love as she moves forward?

A very well written Amish romance. Good plot and character dynamics. I recommend this book to those who enjoy Amish fiction. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my advance book. This is my unbiased review.

Charlotte Hubbard has once again outdone herself with this book. I don’t ever recall reading an Amish book that had Amish women bickering with each other over a man throughout the story. It made the book, engaging, funny and brought a new twist into the storyline. I look forward to seeing what’s going to happen at Promise Lodge next.

All words and opinions are my own. I was given a copy of the book from NetGalley for my honest review.

Another in the beloved Promise Lodge series! Throughout this series we have met the members of this Amish community. This time it is Lester who finds someone for himself -- a friend of Mattie and her sisters from their former town. The story of two older ladies vying for Lester's hand while he has only interest in Marlene, is funny and endearing. The couple themselves are kind, humble and single-minded in their pursuit of a future together. I can scarcely wait to see who else matches up in the next installment. I feel like I know everyong there after reading all the books so far.

I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my own honest opinion.

Oh my! What a delightful and fun read!
Hubbard has brought Promise Lodge and it's residents back to us again! Yay!!
I honestly didn't think there'd be another one. I am so happy to return to Promise Lodge! I feel like it's my home.
Hubbard made me laugh outright on this one! I enjoyed this novel so much. I giggled most of the way through it because of Elverta and Agnus. Those two were something else and in my opinion they were what made the story a hit with me.
Yes, they got on my nerves but they tickled me pink at times!
I loved that Marlene brought a little charm to the story too. She's my true favorite character because of her spunk and gentle nature.
Yes, there are some subjects that might be a little tough to read about but Hubbard does a great job with it.
I just finished this book because I couldn't put it down!
And the cover is lovely.
5 stars for a job well done! I highly recommend!
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
