This book was sweet and funny. Nolan and Erin both had a lot of baggage and crazy exes and had quite a doozy of a miscommunication, but they were sweet together. I loved Granny V and the rest of their meddling family and friends. The ending seemed a bit rushed but I still enjoyed it.
This was a sweet book with some very steamy scenes! It was humorous and I enjoyed the characters. I felt they were really well written. Enjoyed it!
I enjoyed reading this story, and would easily keep reading through the rest of the series. I was hoping for more surprises in the plot, but I just didn't quite get there. That being said, I liked the banter and the characters, and didn't have to push myself to finish - I enjoyed the read throughout.
A nice quick romantic read. It had some giggle-worthy moments which I loved and I really liked the two main characters! Hell, I liked all the characters (except for her ex he was well-written to be someone you hate). I defiantly will read more by this author, especially if it has Noah and Erin in it! Brilliant start to a series and I will be on the lookout for the rest.
ARC review
I loved the meet-cute at the beginning. It was pretty unique. The slow burn between Nolan and Erin was quite nice. The supporting characters were hilarious and I loved the banter between all of them. Overall, a cute story!
Dessert tray & charcuterie board.
This was both sugary sweet like Erin's naughty treats and also had enough cheese to load up a charcuterie board.
This book was an easy read when I was in it. There were plenty of funny lines ("It’s hard to feign nonchalance when your ass is clenching like a nutcracker, but I managed it." Or "I needed him to chew with his mouth open, pick his nose, fart at the table, anything. If he continued being perfect, there was no way I was getting out of this alive.") but with each funny line there were even more lame ones and situations that were just incongruent to the story or character. I came close to stopping a few times but I had hopes for better times - it always helps when there's a funny old meddling granny involved - and I didn't want to be a quitter. It was hard to stay in it at times.
I made it through but overall I was kinda disappointed. I guess I'd hoped for something different based on the blurb.
(I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley)
While this one was for sure entertaining for a while, the characters were just not for me personally and the ending felt so rushed to give justice to its lead characters. I did love and enjoy reading about the supporting characters which really made me wish that this book had been handled differently 🤷🏻♀️
Overall this was a fun easy read. The main characters had a great meet cute and had good chemistry from the start. I loved the banter and the silly situations these two ended up in. As things continued through the book I found the plot to get more and more unbelievable which was disappointing. It was pretty easy to predict the ending unfortunately. Despite my feelings on some of the plot points it was still an enjoyable book!
Some real nasty exes make this a sometimes uncomfortable read. A lovely couple in Erin and Nolan, with great family members, friends and a most fabulous colleague for both! Some great sarcasm and funny lines running alongside the meanness and alongside the romance.

This book was pretty good, I’m not upset at all that I read it!
My favorites about this book were the characters - each had a specific set of traits and it was easy to remember who was who! I also really enjoyed all of the witty banter between all the characters - my favorite has to be Alana! I really would love to see her get her own book!
Things I didn’t love really just boiled down to two things:
1. I felt like there was too much misfortune. So much so, that Nolan & Erin start dating and out of 47 chapters, maybe 2 or 3 of them are dedicated to their relationship before they break up again and you get their independent POVs. I wanted more romance!
2. The ending felt highly rushed. I mean she didn’t trust him, yet at the end she now believes him about everything & he boards the train with her? I just wish there was an additional chapter that bridged that conversation to the ending.
All in all, cute read & very funny!
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me a digital copy of this to read!
The story of Erin and Nolan. They meet through her work, but will she give him a chance. Both of them have an ex who is trying to split Erin and Nolan up - will the succeed?
A great read, looking forward to more from this author.
The Sweet Spot takes the concept of the “dreaded ex” to a whole new level! New to Monica Myers, I wasn’t sure what to expect and while the laughter was front and center, the story was deep and borderline dark. Imagine if the Hallmark Channel and Lifetime had a baby, that is the best way to describe this book. She didn’t stick to the typical light and fluffiness of a romantic comedy, she brought true life stories into the mix. With triggers of cyberbullying, emotional abuse, and stalking, Monica weaves a cautionary tale about finding love in the modern day.
Three years since opening, Erin couldn’t be prouder of Sticky Treats, her less than conventional cake and confections bakery. Having come back strong from the brink after a devastating cyberbullying attack by her ex Stirling, Erin is cautious yet focused on keeping Sticky Treats successful, meaning her life is all work, no play, and with as little exposure to risk-taking as possible. To the opposite effect, Nolan works hard and plays even harder. A corporate lawyer with an incredible record, his law firm has learned to simple turn a blind eye to his post-relationship retributions. As far as he is concerned, if he is destined to be like his father, why ruin the life of a decent person. He can’t break something (or in his case someone) that is already broken. Dedicated to his iron-clad rationale, Nolan is the envy of most of his coworkers and the perfect candidate to organize an upcoming bachelor party. With a suggestion from his PA and a delivery mishap by her assistant, Nolan and Erin find themselves in a very unfortunate yet highly comical “meet-cute”. Being a lightening rod of disaster, Erin is determined to keep her distance from Nolan but fate (with the help of Nolan’s family and Erin’s friends) has an agenda of its own.
What I liked about this book: While there were moments in this book that made me a little unsettled, the story itself was captivating, witty, steamy, and at times laugh out loud hilarious. The banter between Erin and Nolan was priceless. Throw in Alana, Madison, Olivia, and Granny V and composure was just a lost cause (I think I laughed so hard I snorted at one point!) Monica’s approach of mixing the wonderful fantasy world of romantic comedies with the realistic underbelly of dating was an angle I had not read before. The truth is, not every relationship ends with a mutual understanding and well wishes. Stirling was the primary example of a man who fed off the emotional fear and insecurities of Erin. Even if he couldn’t have her or be with her, being able to still control her was all he needed. For Heather, if she couldn’t be in Nolan’s life by choice, she would do it by force. The thought of two people being that capable of things so terrifying was deeply disturbing and the fact that the real world can back these types of incidents is even more jarring.
What I love about this book: Monica did an epilogue! There is nothing more frustrating when a book ends and you still have questions about a storyline that was deeply nestles into the book but is not concluded. When I got the last chapter, the question “well what happened to…” came to mind and frustration settled in. When I swiped and say “Epilogue”, I nearly jumped for joy and Monica wrapped up everything beautifully.
While this book may be triggering for anyone who has been in an abusive and/or toxic relationship, the outcome is inspiring and heartwarming. The Sweet Spot really does hit you right where you need it, bringing you moments of joy, binges of laughter, and a true reminder that we are not defined by how others see us and fear doesn’t make us powerless. Monica shows us that while we are capable of drawing strength from within ourselves, there is absolutely nothing wrong with finding the courage we need through others.
A comedy of errors lead these two main characters Erin and Nolan on the path to romance and this one followed the predictable algorithm for this trope. It was an enjoyable read with some exasperation thrown in , but all in all is a pretty good way to spend your downtime.Would recommend to friends and family.

Thank you to Netgalley for an advance copy. Thoughts & opinions entirely my own.
This had major potential. Original meet cute and different job the FMC. An 🍆 baker
Main theme is lack of communication/miscommunication. My least favorite trope other than surprise baby/pregnancy.
Granny V was the best! Lots of good supporting characters. Hard to root for the FMC & MMC.
May try to finish later, not grabbing my attention at the moment.
such a great and fun romance read! The meet cute in this book was so unique and fun! This book was also hilarious! The side characters in this story added so much and really brought the story together! I wish Nolan had more confidence in himself because there are so many things that could’ve gone differently had he had a bigger sense of self worth. While the end was kind of hard to understand that was my only issue with this book! Such a fun read and I’d recommend this book to soo many people!
I thought this book was very cute and it held up to its adorable name. If you’re looking for fun and adorable this is a good book for you it’s wholesome. If you’re looking for steam it’s very PG.
The Sweet Spot was hilarious! One crazy mishap or misunderstanding after another. Erin is an amazing, talented baker of erotic tasty treats and when she gets an order for "kitties" for a "baby girls" party she assumes its not talking about the animal... WHOOPS! Nolan is a lovable character with a good redemption arc. This was my first book with the author and I absolutely look forward to more!
Whew! Erin and Nolan were meant to be. Two goofy romantics who had bad luck in prior relationships. Those experiences impacted a lot of their unfortunate decisions, but thanks to their friends/family they were able to think more clearly. Absolutely loved Granny, Alana and even Jayden lol. We all need a good sounding board to keep us together and they did it in very unique ways. So happy that they got justice and happiness in the end.
Overall a wonderful read. Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to review
This is the first book in the Tasty Temptations series and I honestly cannot wait to read more!
Erin and Nolan enter each other’s lives by such a wonderful meet-cute and their chemistry is off the charts.
I loved both Erin and Nolan and thought that they were perfect for each other.
I also loved the will-they-won’t-they and the constant meddling from both their exes.
This was a fun read with lots of funny moments that kept me giggling along……
•“Look beneath the surface of something and wonderful things can happen.”•
I REALLY loved this book, from the characters to the plot it was adorable and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
Nolan is such a goofy character that when he looses his usual suaveness around Erin it just cracked me up. The two of them and the hijinks that ensue just make for such great chaos but also the build up that you get from it all is perfect. Loved Erin’s job, it’s unique and fun and the way she is dedicated to the art of it makes it more entertaining and great to read about.
Great book, can’t recommend enough.
