This was aptly named - The Sweet Spot is a confection. I enjoyed this sweet rom-com involving a baker and a lawyer. Erin is a baker who specializes in erotic treats, like breast-shaped cupcakes for a woman celebrating her reconstruction, or a cake with an, ahem, unusual theme for a bridal shower. When she bakes a cake for a stripper to jump out of, she meets Nolan, the lawyer. He’s been put in charge of an office bachelor party and his stripper is nowhere to be seen. When Erin shows up to repair a problem, well, it’s the beginning of lots of fun. The set-ups are sure to tickle your funny bone, and the heat is just right. There’s drama on both sides when exes get involved. This was a fun, light-hearted read. The dialogue and situations will have you chuckling. The plot is somewhat predictable (including the dual POV that seems to be everywhere these days), but it works here and is enjoyable. I’m hoping the author follows up with another book with Alana, Nolan’s witty, interesting PA - she was hilarious!

Quote I liked:

Everything always looks worse before your first cup of coffee.

Ok, I know I’ve said that I hate the miscommunication trope. There is a pretty good amount of miscommunication in this book (assuming and running) but I still liked it. Maybe I was just rooting for the two main characters because of their gaslighting, stalker exes that were determined to ruin everything. Maybe I really just liked Erin’s job (I mean, I do) maybe I loved Granny V, a spicy granny bride to be with visions of an X rated wedding cake. There were just so many elements that liked, that it ended up overruling my general distaste for the trope.

Erin owns Sticky Cakes, an erotic bakery. She goes to fix a potential issue with a giant cake (completely edible, made for a lady to jump out of) and Noah mistakes her for the stripper that was running late. Noah and Erin keep having terrible luck every time they run into each other. And when their exes come into the picture to try and keep them apart? Vindictive is an understatement. Will they be able to explore the connection they seem to have with all the signs saying they shouldn’t?

This is my first Monica Myers book, I really liked the plot and the original idea of the meet cute. With one of the main characters owning an erotic pastry shop I was more than ready to enjoy the book
.
Erin owns Sticky Treats where cakes and cupcakes come in suggestive shapes. As a small businesswoman, almost everything happens through her hands, so when one of the deliveries of a cake for a bachelorette party goes wrong, she runs out to fix it, only to be mistaken for the stripper in charge of the show
.
Nolan has a long list of complicated exes who have a hard time letting him go and are in charge of putting him in the most ridiculous situations. That's why his office colleagues decided to put him in charge of the bachelor party, and with the pressure of being taken seriously, he ends up putting the baker inside the cake.
.
That is some weird and fun meet cute. Erin and Nolan have complicated relationship histories and the last thing they want is to try again but with the chemistry and deep connection they have it's only a matter of time to end together
.
Trying to put the past behind you and bet on a new relationship can be very difficult when exes keep showing up at your door and doesn't want to leave quiet
.
I really enjoyed reading it, but throughout the book I was losing interest and I had a hard time assimilating the ending.
.
They both needed to work on their confidence and self worth, the resolution was very quick and I got a bit confused at how fast Erin jump to Nolan. But it was a really fun and entertaining reading
.
Thanks to Monica Myers and Inkubator books for give me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion

Thank you to Netgalley for this ARC.

Erin is an erotic baker and Nolan is a lawyer and they both have manipulative and crazy ex's. After an embarrassing meeting cute, the two have sizzling chemistry but are apprehensive to become more. Will they find the sweet spot or will they're ex's drive them apart? Read to find out...

The Sweet Spot was a fun, easy read, although a little slow between 30-60%. I really liked the storyline, characters and the dialogue. I look forward to reading more books in this series.

What's better than romance and cupcakes? Especially erotics cupcakes? This was really funny. I love sarcasm and funny reply in a love interest. But there was passion and respect. I'm all for it! Great story, nice writing, good characters and amazing atmosphere! Loved it!

Erin is an ‘erotic baker’ and has a skeezy ex. Nolan is a lawyer with a crazy ex. They meet when Nolan accidentally mistakes Erin for the stripper who’s supposed to pop out of the cake at a bachelor party. Turns out she’s actually the baker!

This was a really fun read, that starts off with a bit of a silly meet cute. In terms of the romantic relationship I did like Nolan and Erin. Two interesting characters with some reasonable hesitance about getting into a relationship again. It was an easy read and very funny. Some of the funniest dialogue. However, I would have liked to see the couple get out of their own way a bit sooner. It was a bit annoying to be past 50% of the way into the book and the couple haven’t even attempted to make a go of it, they were still sort of just friends. And it felt like it dragged a bit there. Then once they were together we had a time jump ahead ‘a few months’ which felt a bit fast.

This could also be because the side characters and stories did detract a bit from the romance between Nolan and Erin. Which is a shame because all the side characters were funny and well written! I love a cast of wacky grandmas, landlords, neices and evil exes. They just overshadowed the couple more than I thought necessary and took up a lot of page/story space.

Overall I think this was a fun read and I’d recommend it to someone looking for a ‘sweet’ and silly rom-com.
