This is my first novel by the authors, but it won’t be the last! Hate, Rinse, Repeat is a humorous holiday romance between childhood rivals/lovers, Maisy and Chase.
Maisy is a single mom and hairstylist whose mom recently passed, and placed a stipulation in her will that Maisy needs to tell the father of her son that he has a child, or she won’t get to keep the house. Chase is a famous hockey player who took a career-ending hit, and has to move back home to heal from his injury. While back home, he realizes he has a few more surprises in store for him in his hometown of Gamble.
This novel had the secret baby trope, and told us about in the first chapter. I really enjoyed the transparency, and completely understand the reason why Maisy never told Chase. The family drama and banter between characters was extremely realistic, and definitely made me chuckle a few times since it reminded me of my family and similar situations.
The romance between Chase and Maisy rekindled extremely fast in my opinion, bordering on instalove. Then, once Chase knew about his son, the romance was completely dropped and Chase was very entitled and angry. Their relationship was too hot and then too cold for my personal liking. I also found Maisy and Chase infuriating at different points. Maisy was so sulky about the bullying in her childhood, but I can also understand that living in a really small town surrounded by your bullies would reignite your insecurities constantly. Chase was very entitled and rude to Maisy and other people around him, but I also think he was taking out his anger about his recent career-ending sports injury in addition to the anger of finding out he missed years of his son’s life.
Overall, I really enjoyed this fun, fast, holiday read. If you’re looking for a funny, yet heartwarming read, look no further!

Small towns where everyone knows everyone and insists on knowing every ounce of everyone else’s life? Great to read/watch, but oof, no thanks.
I did not realize this was book 3 of 3 until I was over halfway through this book. I now need to go back and read the first two, but it does seem like they could be standalone and read out of order.
The book started off great, gave me Moose Springs series by Sarah Morgenthaler vibes. Being set in Alaska and similar characters. Then… the ending just didn’t work for me. The authors seem like they really REALLY wanted them to get their “happily ever after” and rushed it. I did enjoy it, don’t know that I would recommend the book. Maybe after I’ve read the first two I’ll feel differently.
Thank you to Netgalley for sending me this e-arc. Unfortunately I dnfed it at 40% since everything about it was absolutely ridiculous. The characters were overall very childish and felt extremely superficial. There were also very questionable behaviours that the characters did and I can't read this as a an 19 year old girl. The plot had a lot of potential but everything was very rushed and like said before, the characters did not feel relatable or real at all.
I really enjoyed reading this book, all the characters were credible, I could relate to their motivations, actions and reactions, although I think Maisy´s mother went a bit over the top. Chase´s parents are real gems and Jack is such a wonderful little boy, you might wish he were your kid. After overcoming all the hurt and misunderstandings Chase, Maisy and Jack get their well deserved chance to be a loving family.
I received this book as a review copy.
Thanks to Netgalley and Xpresso Book Tours for this e-arc. I stayed up till like 1 am to finish this book because I needed to finish this series. I loveeedd the series and I loved the story of Maisy and Chase and all the drama. I found myself googling Gamble, Alaska so I can move there ASAP and be the 4th book in this Rom Mom Com lol.

I did not anticipate to start and finish this read today, but I found myself unable to put this one down - such a fun holiday read!
Maisy has spent her whole life in small-town Gamble, Alaska. A single mom to 6 year old Jack, and mourning the loss of her own mom, she’s basically given up on love.
Chase is a recently-injured NHL player, who finds himself back at his parents’ house in Gamble while he recuperates and figures out what’s next for his life. He runs into Maisy - who he had an (ahem) brief romance with the night of their high school reunion years ago, and quickly realizes there’s a whole lot more going on than he’s aware of.
A story about family and forgiveness with a quick pace, short chapters, and incredibly likable characters made this read perfect for an #inonesitting session on a rainy holiday season Sunday.
Recently released for this holiday season, a big thank you to 33 Partners & Indigo Group via @netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. #gifted
Cute and easy quick read! Great for a snowy night in with a nice glass of wine and the Christmas Tree next to you!
This was a cute, chaste (other than some kissing) read. I liked all the characters, especially Jack! I did appreciate the angst on both Chase and Maisey’s side (I had to wipe away a tear or two) but I did feel the “I love you’s” came about without resolution to the concerns for the angst.
The latest addition to the A Gamble on Love Mom-Com, this was a sweet and heartwarming, sort of enemies to lovers, second chance romance with a secret baby trope. Maisy is doing her best to raise her 7-year-old son as a single mom. She's always had it rough, having physical and emotional issues and challenges when she was younger. Chase, on the other hand, had no such issues and is in fact a hometown hero due to his popularity as an NHL star. Chase and Maisy had one night together back when they last had their high school reunion, which resulted in her son. Chase comes back to town to recover from an injury that ended his career. He doesn't know about his son, and he didn't expect to find Maisy still single and has thoughts of maybe rekindling their brief romance. But Maisy is anything but receptive. The last thing she needs is for Chase to come waltzing back after all those years thinking they can pick up where they left off. Both have so many misunderstandings regarding the other and need to stop and see things from the other's perspective. Only then will they have a chance.
The story was heartwarming and pulled me in from the very beginning. The author does a great job of creating the scenes so you see and feel everything from the character's perspective. The story definitely had my attention the whole way through, and though emotional at times, left me with a smile on my face at the end.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I don’t think I will ever read this book again. I understand that keeping the news about a child hidden from the parent is one of the worst things ever but I truly felt like Chase’s behavior was way over the top. I felt uncomfortable reading and honestly wanted to stop reading because of how mean he got. And his family not stepping in when he was out of line because she kind of deserved it? Why the heck didn’t Maisy get up and leave? I would NOT have stood for that kind of bullying no matter how awful it was. I wish the book was focused more on the love story and less on Chase dragging her through the mud.
This third in the Gamble on Love series. I was worried I wouldn’t love it as much as the other two because the characters are less related to the original that the ones in the second book. I was wrong. Maisy and Chase are as good as the rest of the population of Gamble.
I loved the use of letters in the story. It felt like It Ends With Us. Just like the rest of the series, this book was entertaining, I was immediately rooting for a happy ever after.
It’s always great to be back in Gamble. I hope there is more to come!
Absolutely loved it! It’s the perfect Christmas rom com I ever read! Loved the life long love chase and maisey had even though it took a while to know that the other loved them. It was said once chase found out he was a father but it was heart wrenching when it took jack to realize that even though maisey hurt him that he still loved her.

"Well, crap, huh? If you’re reading this, I’m dead. Just so you know, I gave it my best shot."
As someone with a dead mom, I just want to say that this is an incredibly cavalier and insensitive way to handle a very heavy topic and has turned me off of the entire book.
Thank you to netgalley for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Although I haven't read the first two books in this "series", I can say, if either are half as good as this one, I am in! Loved the small town hate turned love story. I enjoyed all the characters were and rooted for them. Cute to see the outcome, although it was a bumpy ride to get there. Quick and feel-good read!

I know this trope (secret baby) is overwhelmingly hated (even the book makes fun of itself), but I don’t mind it depending on how it’s done. This one worked for my. I loved Maisy, Chase and Jack. The pacing was sufficient and the story kept me engaged. No matter how many times the book reminded me it was set in Alaska, my brain decided it was set wherever the movie runaway bride was set, probably because of the hair salon.
I only had a couple of gripes, which I won’t share for a commitment to not give spoilers, but overall a I was rooting for Maisy & Chase.
When it comes to Whitney Dineen & Melanie Summers books, they are some real gems. Really like this book and will always read their books. Great collaboration from the both of them.
I just reviewed Hate, Rinse, Repeat by Whitney Dineen & Melanie Summers. #HateRinseRepeat #NetGalley
nah if my mother which she says they're like best friends force me to reveal my child's father or become homeless i'll murder that woman in after life ☝🏻
this book has all the things i love in romances: single mom, small town, hockey player and somehow worst combination ever
cons:he was her bully(kinda), she was celibate but he had girlfriends, secret baby trope, annoying and ungrateful child, there was little romance i don't even remember if they kissed 🤨
pros: jane and angel were kind of nice🤨
the way chase handled the situation after he learned the truth was gross 🤢 i really hate him
and the whole town treating her badly? i don't understand how grown up people can be so mean especially TO THEIR HAIRDRESSER because i'm like an angel toward my hairdresser he can ruin my hair if he wanted to😭✋🏼
I was provided an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
If you need a book to pull on your heart strings this one is for you!! The characters in this book have separate yet equally challenging and beautiful stories and it only becomes more beautiful as they find each other, again. I really loved every aspect of this story and hope to hear more of Chase and Maisy’s story.

Hate, Rinse, Repeat is the third book in the A Gamble on Love Mom Com Series by authors Whitney Dineen and Melanie Summers. Sadly I have not read the first two yet, however, after reading this gem, I plan to ASAP! Luckily, if you haven't read the first two yet, you don't need to enjoy this story.
This book has quite a lot going for it. Secret kid? Check. Enemies to lovers? Check. And second chance romance? Check. I loved the whole premise of this story, and parts of it had me in tears.
Maisy, now a hairstylist, business owner, and mom to 7-year-old Jack, didn't have the greatest time growing up. As someone who was bullied quite a bit growing up, I felt a sort of kinship with Maisy. I know a lot of people probably feel like Maisy was just horrible for keeping her son from his father, but I am not so quick to jump on the Maisy sucks train! Maisy has a lot of trauma that she needs to deal with. Starting with her own father bailing on them, being bullied through most of her childhood, and then the loss of her mother. Thankfully, by the end of the story, she is well on her way to healing.
I felt really bad for Chase at the beginning. Losing the career that you are so passionate about because of a cheap shot is terrible. I actually think he was too hard on Maisy when he learns the truth. I mean, he did leave town and never bother to come back. So why would Maisy ever think that he would want to stay and have a family? I understand how she could conclude that her son would be better off not knowing at all rather than knowing that his dad didn't want him.
No, I don't think it was the right thing to do, but I understand how Maisy really would have felt that way.
Anyway, I'm rambling. I loved Chase and Maisy and I adored Jack. He was just too cute. This story was a beautiful story that was filled with heartbreak, and loss but also with forgiveness, second chances, and most importantly forgiveness.
What I loved most
First and foremost, I really loved the relationship Maisy has with her son. As a mom (who happens to be a little over-emotional sometimes.) with a 7-year-old son, I found myself getting teary-eyed just from the connection these two have. Plus Jack is just the sweetest kid ever.
I also loved how quickly Chase fell in love with Jack. I mean how could you not? Chase found out he had a son and immediately made him the priority. I know in that situation a lot of people probably wouldn't know what to do, but he jumped right in and said I'm going to be a dad now. I thought it was pretty amazing.
Lastly, I actually liked that they went into detail regarding Maisy's past and her working through it. I think a lot of romances, especially Christmas romances, are so sweet but don't have a lot of depth. I still love those sweet romances but I like a story with some emotional depth as well.
What didn't I like?
Honestly, there wasn't a lot I didn't like. Other than the fact that I couldn't put it down... I sat in my work parking lot to finish it because I didn't even want to drive home without knowing how it ended!
The only thing I guess would be that I feel like it could have been just a little bit longer. I would have loved their relationship to have built a little more. It was almost like one day Chase doesn't even want to look at Maisy and the next day he wants more of a relationship with her. I feel like that was more trying to wrap the book up rather than making it a little longer.
Also, I typically read much more... I guess we could say spicy romance books. This book is completely PG, which I thought I would mind but the story is so sweet I think spiciness would have ruined it.
I'm so happy to have read Hate, Rinse, Repeat and I recommend it to anyone who loves a sweet holiday romance. If you do, I promise this one will not disappoint.
Another fun rom/com from the team of Whitney Dinesen/Melanie summers. Maisey and Chase butted heads a lot growing up. As adults they reconnect and learn to forgive. Lighthearted as the other books in the Gamble, Alaska series, this one was fun to read!
