This is an exciting and topical thriller, with hardly a dull moment. Amongst other things, the sensational, dark plot explores how trauma may possibly be inherited, the nature of close family relationships (especially mother/ daughter), and what life can be like for only children. I think that the reader has to make up their own mind which way the ending goes! I have never been disappointed by fiction published by Serpent's Tail.

This was a well written book with a fantastic narrative, a gripping storyline and well developed characters who were all in someway flawed and unreliable and I didn't know what to think or who to believe. I enjoyed it.
