This was an amazing read that I struggled to put down! When multi millionaire Jacki Turner tells her 4 adult daughters she is dying, they have mixed emotions. When she tells them the terms of inheritance if they hope for a share of her empire, they are shocked and dismayed. Isla is the eldest and has always been driven and wants to be just like her mother, Rose has cut her mother off for 3 years and has never gotten along with her so doesn't really care to be a part of the terms, Mel is still traumatised by major events from her childhood and Jess is the baby of the family who wary of relationships. The sisters have all led different lives and the terms mean they have to work together. Will this bring them closer together or drive them further apart? Such a great read, at times funny and at times incredibly sad. Cannot wait for more from this author.

This was the loveliest story, all about mother/daughter relationships, and sister relationships. It's poignant, funny and relaxing. A great first novel!

When Jacki tells her daughters that she is dying, they are stunned, and have difficulties coming to terms with it. Jacki is a larger-than-life character, and still young. She's been a neglectful mother, putting most of her energies into her business on the Gold Coast in Qld, which has made her tremendously wealthy. The four women all have different relationships with her, and Rose, one of the daughters hardly speaks to her, for various reasons.

They are even more shocked to find that they each have a task to do before they can claim their inheritance, and they all have to complete their tasks in three months! Otherwise, the money will go to charity. Of course, none of them want to fulfil their tasks, but Jacki knows that, and she has given each of them something that suits their personalities, but which they will find a difficult challenge. Jess, for example, has to stay in a relationship for three months. Isla has to find herself, and there is a hilarious scene which concerns her going to a meditation retreat. Mel has to run a marathon, and Rose has to write a children's book. I was with them every step of the way as they all experienced different trials and tribulations, discovering more about themselves, and their relationships along the way. I was sorry to finish this book!

I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

4 sisters and a mother challenging each of her daughters. For sisters Isla, Jess, Mel and Rose they must each complete a task set by their mother the formable Jackie Turner to inherit her vast fortune. Fail and it will all be donated to a charity.

This is a story about family and their relationships. A book about love but also about past hurts. As each daughter starts their challenge they must also look at themselves and their lives.

I really enjoyed reading about each of the sisters and how they connected to each other and their relationship. Set in my own hometown @michelleuptontheauthor brings together a beautiful debut novel.

Terms of Inheritance is now available. Thank you to @harpercollinsau for my eARC.
