Rat is the story of Conrad who lives in 1980s Baltimore. He is the editor for a small publishing company and pretty much keeps to himself. That changes when he meets Calypso. Rat comes across as kind of out there at times but his internal monologue is super funny. I found him to be determined, lonely, dark, and very smart. The story really starts flying by as it goes and by the end, you are wanting more. That was my only complaint, it ended too abruptly. This author has a fantastic writing style and I look forward to reading more from them.
