This cookbook is amazing!! I love all the unique recipes and how they connect to specific moments of the movie.
The Princess Bride is my favorite movie of all time amd this fabulous book is now my favorite cookbook. I will be buying a physical copy for myself and another one for my dad who also loves the movie as much as I do.
Though I have not tried the recipes yet, they look fantastic. I cannot wait to try them. The format is easy to follow and entertaining.
Every fan of The Princess Bride needs this cookbook in their collection!
I am immediately buying a physical copy of this book. It has so many creative but easy recipes for your next Princess Bride viewing party. The names of the recipes are also so much in line with parts of the movie.
Hash you wish...
If you think Hash You Wish, Six-Fingered Sandwiches and ROUS's are charming enough to eat, then htis is the cookbook for you. A bit of nostalgia amongst recipes with names inspired by the movie, we get recipes, with famous lines from the script with screengrabs and stills from the Princess Bride. This would be a clever and fun thing to have on hand for a movie night.
Recommend.
Hash you wish....
So much more than a cookbook. This is a love letter to the movie of the century! Everyone loves Princess Bride and this book hits all the warm fuzzy feels. The recipes are wonderfully named, Hash You Wish, Brut Squad Bake, Chips of Insanity, Mostly Dead, Fezzik's Stew, Bread Pirate Robert's, Miracle Max's Pills, Inconceivable, Iocane Powder Punch and so many more. Everything is delicious and beautifully styled for the cookbook part but they also include party themes, movie stills, quotes, and tidbits of insider knowledge.
Revisit the wonder of Florin with a feast fit for a Princess and her Pirate.
Did you enjoy the movie, The Princess Bride? Then you will love these recipes that highlight the characters and events in the movie!
Enjoy eating the Buttercup Buttercup Scones, Hash You Wish with potatoes, bacon and Fire Swamp Boiled Beef, and Prince Humperdinck's Eggs and Soldiers.
You will appreciate the photos and dialogue that accompany the meals as they help to bring back the pleasure of watching the movie!
The Princess Crown Breakfast Tart is made with butter, flour, cinnamon, blueberries, mango, raspberries and kiwi and is a large pizza sized fruit tart, Most Likely Kill You In The Morning is a eggs in purgatory spicy dish, and the Six Fingered Sandwich is a cucumber sandwich with dill flavored butter.
The Giants Boulders are made with mac and cheese and fried in bread crumbs and egg with marinara dip and Bonetti's Defense is a mix of steak, garlic, salt, pepper and onions grilled with skewers.
Enjoy prepping and eating these scrumptious foods while watching "The Princess Bride!"

Recipes are easy to follow and delicious. I absolutely loved all the puns in the titles, they are hilarious and so inventive. Each one comes with a little description describing it and letting you know how she tied them to the story, it generally has a quote from the movie too. My only complaint is that there are no prep or cook times listed with the ingredients, which can be really helpful when choosing what's for dinner that night.

This was super easy to make and incredibly delicious. I couldn't find pop rocks, so I subbed sugar that I dyed pink, I imagine the pops would have been an even better touch. The presentation was really pretty and I imagine it'd be a perfect party drink.

These will be a family staple for years to come. Everyone absolutely loved them!! Aside from the terribly long prep time that didn't mesh well with our family schedule.... There was nothing we didn't love. They were easy, the mac n cheese recipe was top notch and the crunch was amazing. I also loved the tip for dipping them in marinara, I never would have done that on my own and it was the perfect sauce for them. We did substitute a couple things; 2 cups crushed cheez-its and 1 cup panko instead of 3 cups of bread crumbs (simply because I thought we had bread crumbs but we didn't so I used what we had) and then just eggs instead of actual eggs for a egg allergy sub.

These sandwich pockets were so easy to make and incredibly delicious! My 6yr old helped me from beginning to end while we watched The Princess Bride [his first time] and had such a great time. We did sub cheddar for swiss cheese and melted butter for an egg wash, but that was for personal reasons and I'm sure the original options would have been just as delicious. We also paired them with tomato bisque and they made great dippers.
Like most children of the (mumbles) I remember the first time I saw the Princess Bride. And like many of us over the last few years, I've got more into cooking than I was before. This book beautifully melds those two passions.
It covers the whole part of the day, from breakfast to supper and snacks for inbetween. Each recipe has a picture - not of the food, but from the movie - and a quote from the screenplay, along with a brief description of how the recipe fits into the story. The recipes themselves are clear and simple, with easy instructions - no complicated jargon or difficult to find ingredients here, just nice simple tasty food. I haven't cooked anything yet, but I'm planning a feast for the next time I watch the movie!
This is a fantastic cookbook for any fan of the movie - I'd say for anyone who'd not a fan as well, but does that person exist? As far as I'm concerned there are only fans and people who haven't seen it yet.
A brilliant book. I'm really looking forward to cooking from it.
This is a very clever cookbook! It is true to the spirit of The Princess Bride. If you know and love the movie (or book), then I think you will enjoy this cookbook. Each recipe is cleverly named after something important from the movie. There is a short introduction that references the movie and then segues into the recipe. The recipes are real and varied. Appetizers, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, deserts, and drinks. I started book marking recipes that I wanted to try and then found myself bookmarking more than half the recipes and gave up. I really enjoyed flipping through the pages for the little bits of dialogue and the images from the movie. I also really enjoyed what a great job the author did of connecting each recipe to the movie. Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy in return for my honest opinion.
Lots of photos and quotes from the princess bride, the recipes are basic but with fancy princess bride names, the names give you no idea what to recipe is for.
"As you wish"
I loved this so so much! The movie still makes my heart so happy, and I freaked out when I saw there was a cook book.
I haven't. Made any of the recipes yet, because I'm a slacker, but we have some bookmarked for the day after Christmas.
The layout on kindle was a little wonky, at least for the eARC that I received, so that bummed me out a little, and i really wish there was photos of what the food is supposed to look like. I'm very much a visual person, and I like to have a concept of what i am shooting for.
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was so excited to get an early copy of this cookbook and The Princess Bride is one of my favorite books/movies! I really enjoyed the layout with pictures and references to the movie and book. The recipes match the story perfectly and I really look forward to making the Chips of Insanity! I will definitely be purchasing this book when it releases and possibly even copies for a few friends who are super fans and enjoy cooking. Pick up a copy for yourself, you won’t be disappointed!
The Princess Bride: The Official Cookbook is basically a love letter to Princess Bride fans! Besides amazing and creative recipes, the book included tons of photos and lots of quotes from the movie! It’s always difficult to create a full and encompassing cookbook based on a movie or story that has limited foods and drinks involved, but creative recipe takes like, Hash You Wish and Bread Pirate Roberts make this a wicked fun book! The recipes were easy to follow and pretty well varied.
I laughed so hard when I was reading the names of the recipes. I loved the names so much! This is MUST for any fan of The Princess Bride.
There is a lot to appeal to everyone's tastes in this book. I can't wait to make some of the recipes and watch the movie as I eat them.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC for me to honestly review
I love this book it is so creative and it has some fantastic recipes. I am loving this new genre of tying in recipe books to shows or movies I think it just makes things a little more nostalgic and how often have you ever watched a movie or show and seen something that you wish you could try.
I love the Princess Bride so was so excited when I came across this cookbook. But once I saw the recipes names I knew I had to have it. The puns were hilarious!
I really enjoyed this cookbook. The commentary about the movie and the wide variety of recipes ensure it will be greatly enjoyed.
The one thing it was lacking that I wish it had was prep and cooking times listed with the ingredients. I went to make the Giant’s Boulders for dinner one day and read the recipe long enough to gather the ingredients ahead of time. What I didn’t do, and this is 100% on me, was read the recipe fully to resize that it required 2 hours of refrigeration and then 8 hours of freezing. So it became tomorrows dinner.
Nostalgia melds with flavour in this cute cookbook. Recipes have fun movie inspired names like Chips of Insanity and Kissing Book Brioche. The book has beautiful pictures of the food interspersed with lots of stills from the movie and chunks of dialogue that the recipe titles are inspired from.
The book has simple, generic recipes that are relatively easy to prepare for the most part. It would be a great gift for a die hard fan of the movie who was venturing out on their own and was faced with the prospect of cooking for themselves for the first time.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the ARC
I absolutely love the movie "The Princess Bride." When I saw this cookbook, I had to ask to review it. I am so glad that I did. The pictures from the movies are absolutely stunning, and the movie snippets are tied in with the recipes and make for a fun read. The recipes are interesting and something that I would make for parties or dinner. Fezzik's Stew, Inigo's Courage, Twoo Wove's Kiss Cookies, and Good Night, Westley are all recipes I want to try. The recipes aren't too fussy and add to the fun of the concept. I will recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the movie and also to people who like good food with an interesting concept.
"The Princess Bride: The Official Cookbook" is a definite must-have for any fan of the movie. I must admit, I have never seen The Princess Bride, although my husband raves about it. I am, however, a cookbook fan and have rarely met a cookbook I didn't love. "The Bride Cookbook" is no exception. Although many of the recipes have gimmicky names related to the movie, the recipes are solid and do-able for most minimally competent home cooks. As a lover of the movie, my husband found the recipe names laughable in many cases.
Overall, I think this is a cookbook for lovers of the film but non-Princess Bride fans will still find many recipes to cook and enjoy.

""As you dish!"
Few films have captured the hearts and imaginations like The Princess Bride. Based on the book by William Goldman, the 1987 film, directed by Rob Reiner and starring Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin, Billy Crystal, Andre the Giant, Carol Kane, Chris Sarandon, Wallace Shawn, Christopher Guest, Fred Savage, and Peter Falk is as universally beloved as it is quotable.
Now, for the first time, The Princess Bride Cookbook: The Official Cookbook features more than 50 recipes for dishes seen in, and inspired by, the film, including:
Buttercup Buttermilk Scones
Hash You Wish
Farm Boy Breakfast
Six-Fingered Sandwiches
Chips of Insanity
MLT
The Grandson's Soup and Sandwich
Vizzini's Sicilian Meatballs
Fezzik's Stew
The Spaniard's Paella
Bread Pirate Roberts
Twu Wove's Kiss Cookies
Iocane Powder Punch
Inigo Montoya's Taste of Revenge
Perfect for fans, families, and Brute Squads, The Princes Bride: The Official Cookbook is the ultimate way for home cooks to plate up the adventure, comedy, and romance of everyone’s favorite film."
Because why not? Also the MLT makes total sense.
I was so excited to get a copy of this!! The Princess Bride is one of the most iconic movies of all time, so that plus a cookbook is bound to be good.
I loved the inclusion of photos in this. It felt so nostalgic looking at the stills from the movies, and it made me want to watch the movie ASAP.
I think this book had A LOT missing when it comes to being an actual cookbook of any capacity. There were recipes, but they were mostly boring. And based off the titles of each one, you hardly know what they are. And if I'm being honest, you're hardly sure what it is after finishing reading the recipe. Recipes needed a lot more detail. I have no explanation for what "Mostly Dead" is. The book could have benefited from less movie photos, and more food photos as it is a cookbook.
I will say this was entertaining, definitely not useful. While confusing, the food titles made me laugh. Each recipe opened with a little paragraph that gave some? clues as to what you were making, but provided a fun way that the recipe is meant to be tied to the original story.
Overall, not a useful cookbook at all. But really cute collector to item to have if you're possibly a huge huge fan of the movie.
