I absolutely love Kevin Hart, so I was super excited when I got approved, but the book itself just fell kinda flat.

This was a nice and quick little read. This book does read like Kevin Hart is giving you a pep talk which is exactly what they want to achieve. I look forward to checking out the audio book because I believe it'll be quite entertaining!

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review!

I read this because it's by Kevin Hart. How can I not admire the spirit of this short, plucky guy who has made it so big, obviously through great attitude, hard work...and talent (which he developed!) I don't like his swearing, not at all. But I figured I could learn from him - and I have. His chapter on attitude is worth the book price. I have taken it on board. There's not much to surprise here if you are over 30. But the focus on good traits might be a revelation if you've grown up with the poison pot of social media hatred that is ...social media.
I'd read this simply because...he made it. And that inspires me.

This is a good "booster" book, helping you to get your life together and pursue excellence. It is a brief, exhilarating read, full of excellent advice. I believe this is precisely the advice that Mr. Hart has used to achieve his success. The book is excellent and is well worth your reading. I learned a lot and I learned that there is always more to do and achieve and accomplish and this book will absolutely help you. Highly recommended. Only downside is that today's comedians feel they have to use swear words. Mr. Hart is too classy of a guy to resort to this. The reason I bring this up is that this book should be available to the younger set also, and the swearing in it restricts the availability or, worse, gives the message that really undercuts the rest of this fine book which is that your personal behavior matters a great deal, no expletive necessary.

Not sure how anyone could get through this without hearing Kevin’s voice in their head, which is part of the fun of celebrity books. This is a super quick read with 15 life lessons. I think some will immediately resonate with most, whereas others will marinate over days of thinking back up what was read. Kevin writes in a way that is easy to consume to the average reader. I think this is a great pivot point for someone needing a kick in the rear to change some life habits.

Some cool advice overall, but the writing seemed a little bit off. Generally speaking, self-help books are not my cup of tea. But sometimes certain self-help books catch my attention when they have real advice, not just the basic "you can do it" "believe me your life is so good" affirmations. Unfortunately, this book did not bring anything new to the table, therefore it didn't grab my attention.

I love Kevin Hart and will read anything he writes. That being said this was still a short easy read! I like that it was concise and to the point but still had Kevin’s humour with it. I like that this was more of a short story because a lot of the time these kinds of books are long and winded. It was easy to read and I only wish I listened to this on audio (although I still read this book in Kevin’s voice 😂)

This is a super quick read yet it is filled with lots of relatable information and yet it’s very informative on how Kevin got to where he is despite where he came from. It’s also full of his classic wit and humor so that it doesn’t come off as being preachy and stiff. Each chapter has a title that gives you an idea of what is going to be covered therein and he talks about how he has used that particular trait in his own personal life and rise to the top and how you can use it in your life as well. It contains 15 “crispy golden chicken nuggets” like “Cowboying Up” and “NonReactivity”
Easy to read, easy to use and it would make a great gift.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.

This Is How We Do It is a quick, no-BS guide from Kevin Hart. It's like having a conversation with him the whole way through while he reveals to you his 15 "tools" in his metaphorical toolbox that will get anyone into a positive mindset and out of this negative hellhole we're in as a country. While I did find it inspirational, really none of the information was new and it was almost hard to read. It was like reading a high schooler's essay who was just ranting random information to get a word count, but with a lot more cursing.

If you want to a really quick read, enjoy Kevin Hart, and would like some no-nonsense positive inspiration: this book is for you.

This book is pretty timely in my life right now. I already have in mind who I'm going to recommend this to. :)

I found lots of highlightable passages & thoughts and great 'gems' or "Golden, crisp chicken nuggets" of information. There's lots of stuff you've probably already read/ heard but this is laid out well into 15 chapters or lessons. Some with hilariously awesome titles: "Teddy Bearing" "What-is-ness" and others. This book felt really relatable to me. And bonus, it is a super quick read.

Really how else can you read this but in Kevin's voice in your head, lol. That's certainly how it came across in my head while reading; And I'm pleased to see he is doing the audiobook! I can't wait to grab that.

I'm hovering around a 3.5-3.75 ish so I rounded up.
Thanks to Amazon & Kevin Hart via Netgalley for the early copy to read and review.

Enjoyable straight talk from Kevin Hart! The advice he imparts isn't new, but I did enjoy this pep talk and advice. Sometimes we all need reminding of our worth and ways to get unstuck to pursue our dreams or even just the day ahead of us. A motivating short read!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing this ARC. All thought are my own.
