Really enjoyed this one! I should have read it so much sooner! But I don’t regret it. This maybe a new obsession! I love the characters, plot, etc.

WOW! I didn't realize that I NEEDED this book of poetry as much as I did. As soon as I listened to the first 20 minutes of the audiobook, I knew I definitely needed more of this kind of mindset in my life. Beauty, love, pain, heartache, learning, growing, becoming. This book of poetry is worth its weight in gold to me. Such wisdom is revealed in such simple -- yet beautifully flawless -- words. Billy Chapata is an artist! The medium that he uses is blank pages to be filled with words... in the language that breathes new life into your soul. An incredible reading experience!

The topics include: personal growth, emotional healing, loving yourself (even with ALL your flaws), letting go of things AND people that are holding your back in life, and much more. This book is brimming with positivity about who you are and who you are becoming. Billy Chapata gets it. He gets... life. And through this volume of his poetry, we see how the world could be if we dare to make subtle changes for the better. His words are so simple, yet told in such wise ways. It really hits home with me! If you need encouragement in a dark world... If you need some self-love to help you see brighter days... explore the world of Chapata's poetry! I am so impressed with it overall! I can see myself reading this book again.

He also does a superb job of narrating the audiobook version. I definitely recommend that experience if you're into audio.

Content: In my listening experience, I don't remember any vulgar language or mature topics.

Accents of Growth is a 3-in-1 collection, collecting Chameleon Aura, Flowers on the Moon, and Velvet Dragonflies. Honestly, this collection-of-collections makes a lot of sense. All three collections have a very similar vibe; they fit well together.

Ultimately, these weren't for me. All three are very self-help, positive-self-imagery poetry. All three honestly blended together for me.

While the three collections being bundled does make sense from a thematic standpoint, it might be too much, all things considered, to read in a sitting or three. If one were to space these out, I could see them being more impactful.

Then again, I might just not be in the proper mood for something like this. I can imagine them being incredibly stress-relieving on a Friday night after a long week, for example.

This is a lovely collection of three of Billy Chapata’s previous works, and it’s beautifully read and scored. I really love the quality of Billy’s voice and always appreciate hearing poetry read by the poet.

The poetry itself was just okay for me. There were several that I really liked, and the poems as a whole are very uplifting and empowering, with a focus on self love and healing. I just felt like the three collections were all too similar; even within each individual book the poems all started to run together pretty quickly. I couldn’t tell you what distinguished one from the other.

They also started to feel a bit cliché and preachy. I felt like I was blatantly being told what the message of the poem was, rather than there being any sort of subtlety or need for reflection. I think this style can definitely work for some people, but it wasn’t as impactful for me personally.

Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Billy Chapata’s Accents of Growth is all his three poetry books: Chameleon Aura, Flowers on the Moon and Velvet Dragonflies, all in one collection. This audiobook read by the author is great to hear his own voice and inflections. All three books have the same themes of self love and acceptance. After reading all his three books already and now this collection I found all three books to be too similar. I don’t think I’ll read this again.

This is such beautiful poetry that speaks to me. Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Audio for the audio arc in exchange for my honest review.

This compilation of three of Billy Chapata's reflective poetry anthologies is a true gem. Powerful, insightful, and moving. Mr Chapata speaks to my soul through his art. Filled with messages of self-empowerment and self-actualization. Accompanied with upbeat rhythms and melodies that serve as a melodic metronome that harmonizes with the poet's messages of self-affirmation. I found listening to this album on my morning and evening walks therapeutic and enlightening as so many quotes resonated with my core and the subtle symbolism is the delicate brushstroke this poet practices. Thank you to the poet for sharing his messages and spreading love and positive energy. I look forward to hearing more of your art.

ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this collection of poetry, I read the three shorter books separately, but it was nice to hear them all put together in a longer anthology. All of Billy Chapata’s poetry is very inspirational and focuses on doing what makes you happy and living your best life. It’s entirely narrated by him and I hope that they release this in paperback form because I would love to purchase it for my daughter for Christmas!

I’m a fan of poetry, including micro-poetry and the type that starts out (and sometimes stays as) a slew of social media posts. This one just didn’t work for me, though. It felt like a lot of clichés piled on top of each other, and while there were a couple of unique and definitely beautiful lines, they seemed to be overshadowed. I don’t know if reading it versus listening to the collection would make any difference, and I’ll update my review if I’m able to give that a try. Ultimately, this anthology wasn’t for me, but I’m sure there are many others who will greatly appreciate the writer’s words and sentiments.
