I am a huge fan of VIctoria Holt, and Philippa Carr is another pen name of hers. This book started out great - suspensful, romantic writing, atmospheric and well-researched into the times of Henry VIII (one of my favorite times!) - but then it took a turn for the worst, and I really didn't like it very much. There was a lot of action... that we were getting second hand because the narrator wasn't there - she was raising children out in the countryside. So it was really quite dull.
