When you binge a series it almost feels impossible to continue to review them without sounded repetitive. Book 5 was great, but did feel a little like a lower point in the series than the other 4. The character development was ok but fortunately that's as far as it went. The book as a whole felt a little flat, which is to be expected this far in a series. But will definitely continue the series as hoping it's just a blip

This was my first book by this author, and I was hooked. Both storylines really captured me, and I was very interested in seeing how things would play out for both cases. Kay is a strong character who was determined to find out what had happened to her friend, and then eventually to Holly. Elliott was a great character too and I loved the way he handled the case he was investigating.
I'd definitely read the books prior to this one as I've jumped into this series in the wrong spot, and I really hope to see more of this series in the future. Highly recommend.
Another great read from this author
The fifth in this series and still as good as the first
Can’t wait for the next
Thanks NetGalley
Great book with lots of twists and turns to hold your attention. I couldnt stop turning the pages to find out what was going on. This book has it all.
I LOVE this series. Kay Sharp is a Brilliant author and this is another book which has delivered on every level.
Wolfe writes in a way that transports the reader, it is a book that really pulls you in. I have been unwilling to put this book down, I ended up devouring this in just one sitting.
This is perfectly paced, well plotted and contains some BRILLIANT characters. It’s difficult to predict where this was going , another aspect that kept me hooked.
There are so many twists and turns in the pages of this one. I have gasped numerous times and been completely hooked by this one.
I’ve read most of this series and this is definitely a favourite. I absolutely recommend this book.
Thank you to Netgalley, publisher and author for an advanced copy.
I love Leslie Wolfe and Kay Sharp is a wonderful series of books!
5/5
I love this series so much!
This is book 5 of the Detective Kay Sharp of the Mount Chester, North California Sheriff’s Office series.
I simply love the team Kay and Elliot makes and would gladly start a fan club for Elliot, he is such an adorable character!
In this book Kay and Elliot are separated and need to conduct separate murder investigation since Kay's horrible ex-husband is accused of murder and asks for her help even after having cheated on her with a good friend of Kay who is now the murder victim,,,, Wicked plot right?????
This fast paced murder mystery is as ever well written and pulls you in. The warning is that you should allow plenty of time to read the story as it is difficult to put down.
I can't wait for Leslie Wolfe next installment! She is such a talented author who brings me so much pleasure with her books, I can't wait for Kay and Elliot's adventure and will miss the duo until then.... ;)
FABULOUS book, well written with an abundance of suspense, great characterization & wrapped up by a dramatic climax. RECOMMEND the entire series for a terrific read by a great author.
After loving The Girl on Wildfire Ridge by Leslie Wolfe, I was so excited for the fifth installment in the Detective Kay Sharp series, Missing Girl at Frozen Falls.
I've already headed back and read the first three Kay Sharpe novels, having loved the fourth when I got it on a book tour. Obviously, this one (the fifth) was a must read too.
This novel delves even more into Kay's past, featuring her ex-husband and her ex-best friend, with Kay's being involved in the investigation of the former murdering the latter and their daughter together missing. In the meantime, Elliott is investigating a different local crime that somehow leads back to Kay's case. The dual crime theme really adds a lot to the books and keeps the reader guessing along the way.
I'm already excited for book 6 to continue Kay's story.
Wonderful book.Amazing series. I was transported. I did not want it to end and once I finished I couldn't get into another book because I was still thinking about this one. Just brilliant.
Missing Girl at Frozen Falls by Leslie Wolfe is the fifth book in the brilliant Detective Kay Sharp series and this has been a series that has had me gripped from the very first book. This latest book was full of great twists and turns that just had you sitting on the edge of your seat. Leslie did not disappoint with her latest book its a roller coaster ride and I highly recommend this book. I loved it!
Detective Kay Sharp has to confront her past when her ex turns up accused of murdering her former best friend. Meanwhile her partner Elliot is investigating the seemingly random shooting of a teenager...
Missing Girl at Frozen Falls is the 5th book to feature Kay and her colleagues. There are personal threads of plot which continue from earlier books but no spoilers about the previous crimes.
Kay's ex husband Brian is accused of murdering his fiance. He insists on spending time with Kay and reveals that he was cheating on her before and during their marriage with her best friend Rachel who then had his baby. Now Rachel has witnessed a crime and been shot dead at home but Brian is targeted by the police. Then Kay discovers that Rachel's daughter Holly has disappeared...
Kay struggles with her emotions as she grieves for her former friend. Brian is so awful that I wonder why she fell for him in the first place let alone wants to help him now! She even puts her relationship with Elliot at risk as well as her career by pursuing an investigation out of her jurisdiction. Rachel's missing daughter provides a tension and fear to the plot as we see her mistreated by those who abducted her.
Elliot's case is also emotional. The victim has been through a lot in the last year with the death of her mother and the illness of her father. Her dad's desperation really tugged at my heartstrings and I felt Elliot's urgency to find justice and peace for the family.
Missing Girl at Frozen Falls is an engaging novel and I enjoyed the two cases being juggled by the lead detectives.
I love a good villain twist, and this has a good one. I was sucked in from the beginning with the movie like feel of the story. As usual the plot and the characters are interesting. This one also tugs at your heart strings, which makes the story feel deeper. I am looking forward to the next one.
Thank you to Bookouture for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via Netgalley. This is the 5th book in the Detective Sharp series but all could be read as a standalone
This book is very personal to Kay. You get to learn a lot about Kays's life at college just before she joined the FBI where she used to work before she moved back to her home town of Mount Chester. This case brings up a lot of painful memories for Kay and I wanted to shake the naivety out of her and stop her from making all the mistakes she'd already made.
Leslie really had me hooked and surprised with this one. The book is action-packed and full of tension from start to finish
This is an excellent police procedural that will have you gripped from start to finish. Thank you Leslie for this story and I can't wait for the next instalment in this series.
Part of a series featuring Detective Kay Sharp. A double murder both to be solved, an ex husband and plenty of action. Lots of twists,a good read.

A really great read and great characters in this book. Kay didn't give up until she got to the bottom of what happened. Some interesting events in the book that surprised me. I thought the ending was really good. Would recommend.
What an absolute corker of a read!! This book can easily be read as a standalone but I always think it helps to get a better idea of the main characters and how they fit with each other, when you read a series from the beginning.
Kay has had a request from her ex-husband, Brian. He has been accused of murder and he is desperate to clear his name. Even though the murder he has been accused of is outside of Kay's jurisdiction, she tries to help him, much to the chagrin of Elliot, who didn't even know that Kay had been married in the first place and doesn't see why she wants to help, considering their history.
It is a heck of a story and it involves a small girl who goes missing, murder, lots of lies, and help from an unexpected source.
5 stars from me.
I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture.
Missing Girl at Frozen Falls by Leslie Wolfe.
Detective Kay Sharp Book 5.
She lay in the frosted grass behind Frozen Falls. Her eyes were wide open, and the wind blew her hair, ash-blond locks reflecting the blue sky. Her face, beautiful even in death, was pale, as if the bitter cold from the mountain had drained the color from her cheeks.
On a crisp autumn day in the small town of Mount Chester, Detective Kay Sharp comes face-to-face with the past she has spent the last decade running from. Her ex-husband, Brian, has been accused of murder.
Seeing Brian brings a flood of painful memories—he betrayed her in the worst possible way. Yet despite her heartbreak, Kay is willing to put her career on the line to prove his innocence.
Brian is accused of killing Kay’s former best friend, Rachel—the woman he cheated on Kay with, getting her pregnant. The blood drains from Kay’s face; she received a voicemail from Rachel two days ago. “I hope you’ll forgive me,” she’d said, her voice fraught with tears. “I know I have no right, but I need you.” Kay’s stomach plummets. By the time she called back, Rachel was already dead. Could Brian really be the murderer?
Really good read. I love this series. 4*.
Leslie just keeps me on the edge of my seat! I did guess - but this plot had me obsessed.
Kay's ex-husband shows up - someone no one has heard of. Brian, a detective at the San Francisco PD, shows up in Kay's town. Begging for help. Accused of killing his fiancée. Kay's best friend from college. Rachel was pregnant with Brian's baby. At their wedding.
So many twists. I loved every single one.
Detective Kay Sharp is not very happy that her ex husband Brian has come to her for help. He has been accused of murder and he knows that he has to turn himself in, but he wants her help first. This proves very difficult for Kay because it brings back difficult memories from the past and yet she finds that she cannot say no to him. Not only is Kay a cop, but Brian is as well.
If things were not already bad enough, when Kay discovers who it was that Brian is said to have killed, she is completely floored. The murder victim is her former best friend Rachel, Years ago, once Kay became aware that Rachel was sleeping with Brian, their relationship completely fizzled. In fact, a voicemail that was sent to her by Rachel just two days before her death is something that Kay ignored at first. Now she knows that she has to help Brian while working hard to discover who it was that killed Rachel. Kay’s involvement in this case just might endanger her career. She also has to determine how much she can trust Brian.
To say that this case is close to home is an understatement, and her team is not happy that she is working on it nor are the people that Brian works with are happy that Kay is desperately searching for answers. And Kay’s desperation for answers increases greatly when she discovers that Rachel’s daughter Holly ding for Kay as she works to find the killer and what happened to Holly.
What a remarkable addition to an excellent series by Leslie Wolfe. Thanks to intense drama, incredible tension and several twists and turns, this intriguing book had me reading late into the night. Book six in this cannot come too soon.
Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
