Missing Girl at Frozen Falls is Book 5 in the Detective Kay Sharp Series by Leslie Wolfe
I've been enjoying FBI profiler Detective Kay Sharp since book one.
And Kay is back with another case to solve. Only this time it's a little different.
Brian her ex-husband is accused of killing Kay’s former best friend, Rachel.
Adding more craziness to her case she discovers that Rachel’s eight-year-old daughter, Holly, is missing.
Is Holly still alive?
Investigating the most personal case ever Kay is up against time before its too late to save Holly.
And while doing so can she uncover the truth to bring justice to Brian?
So IMO I believe this is her best one yet!
Only because it feels so more personal.
I enjoyed the story, character development, and dialogue.
There were plenty of plot twists that I didn’t see coming and that added to the book’s mystery.
Leslie has got me hooked with these characters now. There is just something I absolutely love about Detective Kay Sharp. And her character is one of my favorites.
She keeps you in suspense and you feel how the characters feel.
As usual the writing is phenomenal. The reader is hooked from the first chapter.
A completely addictive detective thriller that will have you guessing right to the end.
If you are looking for a well-written crime thriller with amazing characters and a gripping plot then ‘Missing Girl at Frozen Falls’ will not disappoint you.

Bookouture,
Thank You for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this eARC!
I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Missing Girl at Frozen Falls, the fifth novel to feature Detective Kay Sharp of the Mount Chester, North California Sheriff’s Office.
Kay and her partner, Elliot, are called out to investigate the disappearance of local teenager Taylor Lorentz, but before she gets going her ex-husband Brian arrives at the station asking for help. Brian has been charged with the murder of his fiancée and mother of his daughter Holly, Rachel, who was once Kay’s best friend. He says he’s being framed and begs for Kay’s help, which she offers, if only to find Holly who nobody knew was missing.
I thoroughly enjoyed Missing Girl at Frozen Falls, which is an engrossing read with plenty of twists and turns. I like that it has two separate investigations with Kay helping Brian to find Holly and Elliot investigating the disappearance and murder of Taylor. They provide a good contrast with Elliot taking a methodical but thorough approach while Kay’s adventures are more action packed and high octane. Both have great twists that I didn’t see coming and culminate in a stunning denouement. It’s excellent plotting and disguise.
It’s a different Kay we see in this novel. Perhaps because Brian cheated on her with Rachel and she can still be hurt by the memories, she’s more unsure and questioning and without her usual decisiveness, but she can still investigate better than most. Elliot is worried about her, but he trusts her judgement and is there at the end of a phone to calm her. Meanwhile he just gets on with his unrelenting investigation.
Missing Girl at Frozen Falls is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.
Thanks to NetGalley, Book Outure and Leslie Wolfe for the opportunity to read an advance copy of MISSING GIRL AT FROZEN FALLS, a Detective Sharp Book 5. This author is new to me but because of this book, I will be watching for future titles by her. Excellent police procedural, extremely well written with believable characters. Detective Sharp is an outrageously quaint personality that leaves you wanting to hear more from her. This novel was very different as the plot was unforeseeable. I enjoyed this read as much as or more than all of the James Patterson books that I’ve read. Detective Sharp is a winner!
Excellent book with a lot of twists in a great plot. The storytelling is also great, with excellent characters and a very good pace. Very entertaining and easy to read.
This is the first book I have read in this series but it did not detract from the storyline. A definite four star read. Plenty of suspense to keep me guessing. Well rounded characters. Would definitely read the next novel . Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

Missing Girl at Frozen Falls is the 5th book in the Detective Kay Sharp series by Leslie Wolfe. This book can be read as a standalone mystery, but the series is totally binge-worthy that I say read them all!
This is such a fast paced read and I could not put it down. I was able to read this one in like 8 hours because I refused to do anything else! This book grabbed me on page one and would not let go!
I absolutely loved this book! Kay and Elliot make such a great team and I love what they each bring to the team. The mystery was intense! I loved the twists and turn and how many layers were involved in this! Once I thought I had things figured out, there would be another layer uncovered!
I really hope there will be more books in the Detective Kay Sharp series because I am hooked!!!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Detective Kay Sharp is focused on her job and her budding relationship with her partner, Elliot, when her past throws her off base. Her ex-husband shows up at the precinct asking for Kay. He has been accused of murdering his fiancé, who just happens to be Kay's former best friend who was sleeping with Kay's husband during their marriage. Despite his lying and philandering, Kay doesn't think he's a murderer. She takes a couple of days off to see if she can figure out who is responsible for the death. Meanwhile, Elliot is working a case of a young woman shot while jogging in the early hours of the morning and struggling to respect Kay's desires for him not to come help her. It's an exciting search for answers, and Kay won't stop until the truth is revealed!
Book 5 in this fantastic series! I liked the idea behind the novel and the execution of that idea was impressive. The writing style was simple and effective and the overall flow of the story felt very smooth. I read this book in one sitting. as I really wanted to get to the end to see if I guessed the mystery right. Can’t wait to read more!
Has everything I love in a hard to put down page turner , suspense, intrigue, action, murder, amazing characters that make you fell in love with them all over , and ones that bring to mind a sorting song by Carrie Underwood which is Cowboy Casanova ,if you've never heard it ,then you have to because that song fits this book to a tee.
They say once a cheater, always a cheater and I believe that. Does that mean that they are capable of doing worse things than that, like killing for instance? I believe that's possible too. After all killers do lie, cheat and deceive in order to try and stay out of jail. What happens though when your ex is turning himself in, hoping you will help him clear his name?
He has broken your heart, more than once, but you think you know him enough and you tell yourself that has been his worst crime. Even though you don't really want him in your life at all, you decide you help as much as you can.
Has he told you everything though? Can a cheater be trusted or does he play a game? The deeper Kay digs, the closer she comes to the truth. Was she right in believing her ex or has he, once again, played her for a fool?
Every day I am still surprised at what people are willing to do to protect themselves and how cruel some of them can be. Some try to buy someone's silence, but can you sleep on both ears than? Others pick a more 'secure' solution...
Sometimes the most charming people are the ones who always get what they want. People want to please them, are attracted to them, fall for them, but do they ever see the real person behind that dazzling smile, those piercing eyes and that glamorous exterior?
I really enjoy this series. Kay and Elliot are partners, but they are so different. Maybe that's why they are such a good match. In this book they are forced to work separately, but are they really? An excellent series by an excellent storyteller. 5 stars
Thank you
This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks also to the publisher and the author. Mystery and intrigue…a cannot put down novel. Characters who come alive on the pages. This would make a great movie. Red herrings…love and romance…family and friends..a little girl missing. Secrets and surprises…this book is written by a talented author who keeps us guessing. I did not want to stop reading until the ending. The protagonist is likable, caring, and invested in her job and the lives of her friends. Following her life is like reading about a character In a television crime show. Do t miss this book.
