Review to come, I accidentally got this one and didn’t download before archive. Will read and update
i am very late to post my review but here it is :)
it was a fun and cute read, and i'm glad that i read it. the story was very easy to read, which i loved! the way i got really fast into the story made it easier to read, and made it so enjoyable. the characters were so fun and their dynamic was also pleasant to read.
the thing i loved most about this book is the found family - it's one of my favorite tropes and it was so well written in this book. i also liked how it was very light, it help me to read it in one sitting! the simple story, yet entertaining :)
one thing i'd say though is that i thought that the Perry would be a little more grumpy. it didn't feel like he was THAT MUCH a grumpy person bc he was always thoughtful to her! but overall i loved this book, and i definitely recommend it :)
this is my first book from this author, but certainly most not my last!
also a thank you to the Publisher and NetGalley for giving me this arc in exchange of an honest review!
THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD ROMANCE!!!
I've never heard of this author before but the title and synopsis had me intrigued,I am so glad I decided to pick this up and read it.
The writing was phenomenal and I adored absolutely adored the characters. I didn't know if I'd like the single mom trope but I really did because of how amazing and realistic it was.
This book was 100% swoon worthy and I ended up reading it in one sitting!!!
Honestly read it!
I’m thrilled to read another book in the Hawthorne series by Jenny Proctor. Jenny writes sweet romance and this is exactly that, How to Kiss Your Grumpy Boss gives major Hallmark movie vibes and I loved every second. The Hawthorne family is absolutely adorable, I love how close-knit they are, everyone is in everyone's business but the love they have for each other is palpable.
In this book we are introduced to Perry and Lila, both have been hurt deeply by the people who should love them the most. Lila is trying her hardest to put her life back together after the death of her husband and father to her son. She struggles with some of her feelings towards her late husband and is choosing to focus on her son and building their life together. What she didn’t expect were the feelings she developed for her new boss Perry Hawthorne. Perry is all business, having gone through a nasty divorce finding love is the last thing on his mind but he can’t help but feel drawn to Lila but a relationship with her means he has to decide if he is ready to be a father.
This book is exactly what I would expect from Jenny Proctor, lots of sweet and heartwarming moments. Her characters are lovable and their surroundings sound straight out of Stars Hollow. Perry is a loyal, hard-working family-first man who has had his heart broken. Lila is a sweet, lovable single mom and together they just make sense. My favourite moments in the book were those with Lila’s son Jack and especially those where he interacted with Perry. Perry might not be ready for parenthood but he was great with Jack. I think my favourite character in this series is Mrs. Hawthorne, she loves her kids with all her heart and seems to always know what is best for them.
This book is perfect for fans of Melanie Jacobson and Sarah Addams.

unfortunately, this book was a major miss for me, and I found it utterly boring. I am upset because I have heard great things about Jenny Proctor! Don't let me discourage you from reading this book though! 2 stars.

This book was adorable! I have a soft spot for men who are great with kids and Perry definitely was amazing with little Jack! But, let’s start with how entertaining and beautiful this book was! Jenny Proctor has a way of getting us readers interested in her characters and their stories and struggles right from the start, without giving too much away for later. So, as the plot progresses, even though we know it’s all gonna end in happy ending, we follow the couple and their developing relationship in awe how cute and heartwarming the chemistry between them is. Once again, Jenny Proctor immersed me fully in that small town, which made reading this book even more enjoyable!
Both Perry and Lila start as people who were hurt by those who were supposed to love them unconditionally and for life. Both of them learn how to trust again, not only with their hearts and feelings but also, like in Lila’s case, with a little kiddo she’s taking care of. I loved watching the question Jack asked Perry:’ Will you be my stairdaddy?’ manifest, even if the main characters were unsure if they can allow themselves to fall in love again.
Honestly, ‘How to kiss your grumpy boss’ filled me with so much warmth and happiness, I couldn’t put this book down even for a second! Coming back to Hawthorne family was as delightful as when I met them for the first time in ‘How to kiss your best friend’. It made me smile and hope I will get to be a part of a wonderful family like this one in the future.
I could really relate to Perry and Lila’s fears and doubts about not being lovable. Unfortunately, once the thought of not being ‘enough’ gets stuck in your head, it’s very hard to suddenly start believing the opposite. Fortunately, just like Perry found Lila, I also found someone who makes me feel special and helps me unlearn this toxic way of thinking.
The only reason I decided to give this book half a star less than 5 is because I wish we got a bit more background info about Lila’s ex in-laws and their relationship with her after she started dating Perry. I think that would add an interesting dynamic into the story. Still, this book has been nothing but apple-asure to read and I recommend it to everyone who loves small town romances!
This book is exactly what you expect from a Jenny Proctor novel. I’ve been reading the Hawthorne brother series completely out of order, but you don’t have to read them in order to know what the family is like. I enjoy seeing all the different aspects of the Hawthorne family and seeing the new addition of Lila and Jack is really cute. Single parent romances can really be hit or miss, depending on how the author writes the child, and I think Jack was written perfectly. He seemed to be exactly the age was written and added to the story without being obnoxious. There were so many small funny parts that had me smiling as I listened. I personally could’ve used a little less internal monologue, and a little bit more depth to the ending of the novel, but it was still very enjoyable overall. 4⭐️, 1🌶

I really enjoyed Perry & Lila's story, even though the employee/boss trope is not one of my favorites, but the two of them together seemed cute to me and I loved Perry's character arc, because I feel that Lila had her ideas pretty clear from the beginning, but not him and I really liked the way in which step by step he has been getting rid of that pressure he had on himself.
If I had to find a drawback, it would be that I feel their relationship advanced very quickly and, on the other hand, I would have liked to see a little more of that grumpy side that Perry has, but otherwise it seems to me a very good and light reading for those who like to read romcoms.
I absolutely loved this novel.
Such a great story with defined characters and a great plot.
What drew me in the most was how fleshed out the characters were
The writing style was fluid and relateable.
The cover was fascinating as well.
A reviting read overall
Definitely recommend adding this to your TBR!
I enjoyed this story with all the characters within. The main characters were Perry and Lila.
Perry Hawthorne has big family's that owns an apple farm. He work on his family's apple farm. Perry needs a virtual assistant to help with organizing things and ordering things for the apple farm. They are planning a autumn festival on the apple farm. His sister was helping before she had her baby.
Lila is a single mother that work for a virtual assistant program. Her boss assign her to a Perry that need help. She been working from home until he needs something from her.
This was a fun story to read. It had action and drama throughout. It had a few giggles within.
I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is my honest unbiased opinions.
My first book of Jenny Proctor and unfortunately maybe my last... I struggled a lot with this book. Especially to connect with Lila. She was so immature and embarrasing. I just couldn't relate to her at all. Their love felt only like insta-love, not the real thing. No, sorry, this book was just not for me...
Jenny Proctor is at it again. Her sweet writing style. A continuation of a super fun series. I always enjoy reading her works :)
Due to personal issues I wasn't able to read and review this book. Thank you for providing it to me and sorry I couldn't give you a proper review
This was a great book and wonderful addition to the series! I can't wait to read more from Jenny Proctor.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Lila and Perry. Lila is a widow with a son named Jack. Perry works for his family ranch. There is an instant attraction. Lila is Perry’s virtual assistant. They each have issues but together they work them out to fall in love.
This was such a fun read! I loved the characters and the grumpy/sunshine trope. Loved that they both had insecurities they had to work through. Loved the end and how it all played out.
Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to read this one. After starting this book I realized it was part of a series but I decided to give it a try. I was a little lost but then found myself enjoying it enough to keep reading. I found it found it fun and quirky and will now go back and read the first one and watch out for the next one. Thanks Net Galley for introducing me to another Rom Com author.
I definitely need to see what else I can find by this author -super cute book. Everything was precious, and I loved our two main characters.
Thanks to Netgalley and Four Petals Press for the opportunity to review Jenny Proctor’s How to Kiss Your Grumpy Boss.
This is the second in a series and can be read as a standalone, Jenny Proctor delivers pure rom-com gold! Grumpy/Sunshine for the win!
A light heart warming read that will keep you laughing throughout. Loved this book and it’s a perfect summer read! Can’t wait for more of her work!
