My daughter and I really enjoyed this book. I love how colorful and youthful the illustrations were. The how to catch series is one of our favorites. This book was no different.

The Catch Kids are back this time trying to catch a Garden Fairy. This would be a really cute book to give kids in spring, and maybe even have things like Fairy Tea Time from the book!

Pretty pictures depict the fairy's fantastical garden with all kids of birds and butterflies who enjoy the traps the children make to try to catch the fairy. I personally love the 'How to Catch' books I think they are great for young kids who are learning to read or parents to read to the young ones who can't read yet.

I thought the illustrations were really pretty and bright. Very colorful and eye catching. And I enjoyed the story for the most part. I think kids, especially little girls, would really like it. But it wasn't really about catching the fairy. The children in the book were trying, but the story was actually about the fairy from her POV.

My one and three year olds love the "How to Catch a..." collection. Like other books in the series, I found the rhyming to be a bit off at times and the storyline a little all over the place. That being said, my kids absolutely love these books. My three year old particularly loves the illustrations. He is always picking up on little "Easter eggs" hidden throughout and the themes that carry from page to page.

My kids love the “How to Catch a….” Series and we’re excited to read this one with me. The illustrations were beautiful, engaging, and magical. There was so much to see and find with them. We really liked how the story ended, but the rest of the story felt a little disjointed. The flow was a bit off to me, but my kids still loved it!

My son absolutely loved this book!! We spent a long time reading it and giggling about the various aspects. We enjoy other books in this series and he was so excited to dive back into a different story. It was really great.

I have read many of the books in this series, and I did enjoy the different take on the POV in this one. The fact that you are reading from the POV of the fairy really made you pay attention to how the kids were trying to catch her.

I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.

This is a rhyming book that I wish didn't. The linguistic gymnastics required to make the rhymes work make the story flow feel very clunky. Some of the sentence structure was akin to Yoda speak, but that wasn't consistently applied throughout the story.

The story itself would have been quite fun if I hadn't been stumbling over the clunky sentence structure. Talk of lunch with a mermaid and turning zebra stripes fun colors and having a pet unicorn is delightful, but the fun got lost in the poor sentence structure.

The illustrations were great. They were so bright and colorful with a ton of little details to enhance the story. if it weren't for the syntax issues, I would not mind reading this book several times. As it stands now I wouldn't want to though.

Overall I give this book 3.1 out of 5 stars.

Sweet story with great illustrations. The story and rhyming felt just a titch off at times but I don’t think the kids noticed. Overall it was fun and produced a few giggles. My kids were a tiny bit worried about the kids trying to catch the fairy, but that was easily worked out by me saying they made friends and didn’t want to catch her anymore. Closure on that front would have been nice. Other than that, it was a cute little read!

As a preschool teacher, I really enjoy reading the “How to Catch…” series to my kids. They are interactive and colorful. The kids love guessing what the next “trap” will be. While this story had the same colorful art and whimsy as the rest of the series, it was told from the fairy’s perspective. That made the book seem a bit scattered though since it wasn’t really focused on catching the fairy, as the name suggests. I think kids will still enjoy the art and magical creatures featured though.

This is a super cute story! The illustrations are great to grab a child’s attention. I can’t wait to read with my child who loves fairies and will really enjoy the story and bright illustrations to look at while we read.

How to Catch a Fairy was such a fun and adorable read. All the kiddos loved the pictures and seeing which of the fairy friends was going to show up next. The unicorn and the mermaid were our favorites!
