Santa's Lost Sleigh has a nice rhyming verse and my nearly-4 year old very much enjoyed the story and illustrations. A delightfully festive way to talk about asking permission before taking or using something that doesn't belong to us.
Thank you to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for this ARC!
This is a cute Christmas book written in the same meter as The Night Before Christmas. The story centers around Santa's lost sleigh and the shenanigans of several reindeer. Fun story with a good moral at the end.
I read this book with my five-year-old daughter and she loved it – she is reading at a higher level for her age so she was very keen to read this one to me herself!
We loved the illustrations, they were lovely and really brought the story to life, it was a delightful story and it was really well written with the story having a lovely flow to it.
We have been having a bit of a binge on Christmas books and this has been one of our favourites!
It is 5 stars from me for this one - a fab Christmas read - very highly recommended!
A very cute, silly, holiday read that all young children who believe in the magic of Santa will love. Santa's sleigh goes missing and lots of silly things happen to get the sleigh back. I like the rhyming throughout the story as great exposure for young readers. I also really like the bright pictures throughout the book.
Wasn’t my favorite book, and I don’t think I would read this to my classroom. The illustrations of the rain deer threw me off, something is just not quite right about them. The moral of the story felt a bit rushed also at the end.
This book is cute! I liked that it was told in verse, and the illustrations were colorful and interesting. I think it would make a great addition to holiday bedtime books, and I imagine that children would delight in the story. Santa is looking all over for his sleigh. Where did it go? I really loved the Mrs. Claus character, as well! This would make a great holiday gift for a kiddo on your Christmas list.
Such a cute book, my toddler loves reading this! Lots of jingles and rhymes were included to make it enjoyable for both adults and children. The illustrations were adorable and added to the storyline. This will be a holiday book we read multiple times each year!
Very hilarious and recommended. The story is quiet simple but entertaining. Made me laugh all the way from the beginning till the end
This was a cute short Christmas picture book.
I really liked the illustrations and the lesson to always ask first.
Santa's Lost Sleigh is a fantastic book that all parents will love to read to their children. The illustrations were colorful and eye catching.
Santa is all set to deliver all the presents, but his sleigh is missing. He searches everywhere he can think of when Mrs. Claus sees the sleigh on TV.
The colored illustrations along with the rhyming words will be enjoyed by everyone.
This is a great holiday gift for any child!
Thank you NetGalley, Rachel Hilz and BooksGoSocial for the ARC of Santa's Lost Sleigh. This is my personal review.
Entertaining. Colorfully illustrated picture book with Santa searching for his lost sled. The rhyming lines tell the easily followed story and there even is a lesson to be learned. I can easily see reading it to younger children and lower school grades. Thank you NetGalley, BooksGoSocial and the author for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was a delightful little story. My toddler loved the pictures and the rhyming story was great. We would definitely add this to our bookshelf.
This book reminds me of the Santa from the Family Vacation Christmas Movie. This book is cute and rhymed well, it will bring holiday spirit to children while also teaching them not to take what is not theirs.
Spoiler alert... I truly enjoyed this little story about a reindeer who stole the sley to surprise Mrs. Claus with a gift. I liked the ryhming pattern and think it's a very cute story for under 5 year old kids who love Santa. Would buy it for my family too.
I received a complimentary copy of this book but the reviews are strictly my own opinion.
I got this book to read to my granddaughter. The story was cute and rhymed well and she loved the illustrations . She thought the reindeer were very cute and was interested the whole time I read the story
Many thanks to BooksGoSocial, Rachel Hilz and NetGalley for the Advance Copy of Santa's Lost Sleigh in return for my honest opinion. I read this book with my six-year-old daughter and have asked her for her opinions, as she is the target demographic for this book, after all.
She enjoyed the story of Santa losing his sleigh and followed the storyline well. She was fully able to recount the story afterwards, which is always a sign that a story is written well enough to be successful with children.
Her complaint with the story was with one of the characters: Bucky. This is a reindeer with a golden, lit-up nose, made up by the author and introduced in this book and which unfortunately my daughter has taken offense to, as she believes quite fervently in the original cannon of Santa's reindeer...and Bucky definitely isn't one of them.
We both thought the illustrations were quite nice and obviously suitably festive.,
My daughter asked me to give this 3.5 stars. As I can only give this round numbers, I've rounded it up to four!
This is a brilliant lovely story for little ones, to get us all in the mood for Christmas.
The story was funny and light hearted and beautifully illustrated. My 6 year old loved it.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.
This is a mischievous but delightful Christmas read about Santa, his missing sleigh, and a well-meaning do good reindeer on a mission, This book made me laugh and I particularly enjoyed that Mrs. Claus had a sports car , television and Santa used words like 'my ride'. This is a short read that will have you in the festive season and is perfect for the young ones and young at heart.
What a cute story this is. Santa's Lost Sleigh is a great story for this time of year.
Perfect to read to your little ones. Great moral in the story.
Thanks Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book. Rachel's books are so cute.
How fun! This story was fun, silly and very entertaining. The rhyming makes it an entertaining read. The illustrations were funny and held my grandkids attention. We loved this book!
