This was a page turner, for sure. But came away not quite sure how I felt about it. I've heard this book compared to THE NEST so many times, and I didn't love love that one either, so perhaps this genre is just not for me.

Jenny Jackson is a new author for me, and I'm so glad to have found her. Her cleverly crafted story about the lives of three women living in New York is laugh-out-loud funny! Looking forward to reading her next book!

I went into this one with mixed expectations. And I left it with mixed feelings. Pineapple Street centres around the very wealthy Stockton family, mainly Darley, the eldest daughter, Georgiana, the youngest daughter, and Sasha, daughter-in-law.

On one hand, this was a juicy and easy read, rich people behaving (mostly) badly. I read it in two sittings, and flew through it. It was well-written and a good summer read. I didn’t particularly like the characters, but they had enough charm to keep me reading. During the last portion of the book, I feel like too much happened too quickly on the pages. It would have been nice to dive deeper in some of the events happening, but it felt like the end was rushed to get us to the point/conclusion. The ending was not as satisfying as it could be.

On the other hand, some of the commentary about socioeconomic status, including race and racism fell a little flat. It seemed to be speckled into the novel to just say *something* about it. It felt empty and very surface level. When I got to the end and found out the author is actually VP/exec editor of a Publishing Group who also happened to live on this street.. I had to LOL because come on… makes a whole lot of sense now. I’ll leave it at that.

PINEAPPLE STREET is a story about a wealthy New York family.
The story is told by three different characters. First we meet Sasha Stockton. Sasha married Cord Stockton who works in the family business. Cord’s parents offer the newly married couple their old apartment since they are moving to a newer property. Sasha is in awe of the Stockton’s wealth and the apartment. However, Sasha soon discovers there are many strings attached to her in-laws generosity.
Darley Stockton is Cord’s sister. Darley’s husband, Malcolm, is a well paid financial executive and they have two children. Darley gave up her inheritance and career to become a full time mother.
Georgiana is the youngest Stockton. She works for a non-profit organization and more than anything is hoping to find love.
I liked PINEAPPLE STREET. At first I felt most empathetic towards Sasha but as the story progressed I did feel empathy towards Darley and Georgiana as well.
I found the novel engaging and easy to read. While, I really don’t know what it is like to be as rich as the Stockton family, it was an entertaining peek behind closed doors.
Thank you to Penguin Random House and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced digital edition of PINEAPPLE STREET.

loved the commentary, humour and character development in this book. I absolutely loved the uniqueness, the fact that it’s centred around wealth and family bc I love to read about family dynamics. The Stocktons are one of the richest families in Brooklyn Heights but the story remains grounded with life lessons and takeaways.

I highly recommend this one to those who love character driven plots, and rich vibes with some romance on the side.

This was a 4 star read for me.This took me a while to get around to reading as life got in the way. I really enjoy the fast paced quality of this book and the interesting looks into each of the main characters lives. I was frustrated with reading on my Kindle as it seemed to not save my place but that is a technology issue vs a readability issue. I would definatly recommend this to my friends.

It took me awhile to finish this book but I’m glad I did. The family dynamics were of a rich family who are spoiled and don’t know how to change. You see them grow but not until closer to the end. Sasha comes from a middle class family but even she was spoiled and not always nice. It takes a tragedy to change them. What I found interesting is that at the beginning you meet Curtis and he is there at the end. He is a catalyst in this story. I received a free book and the views and opinions are my own.

This was an enjoyable book. I did, however, find the plot was a little slow. I did enjoy some of the family drama.. The humour in the book was good and kept it light when it needed to be.

While there was nothing intrinsically "wrong" with the novel, I found it didn't catch my interest. There was little new to a story of monied people facing their issues and guilt and one unmonied person who married into the family and didn't feel she fit. It didn't engage me, the characters seemed more self-absorbed than self-aware, the storyline dragged, even as it switched between the characters. Not a novel I'd recommend.

While I normally enjoy slice-of-life stories it truly felt like not much happened in Pineapple Street. The three women the story focuses on did have some character development, but it didn't feel very satisfying I was left wanting for more.

I was immediately sucked in to this story of a wealthy New York family. The idea of old money, outsiders marrying into the family and all of the drama that happens made for an amazing story that I could not put down. I loved how each chapter was told from a different sisters point of view. I enjoyed this more than I expected.

Enjoyable family drama as each sibling realizes what truly matters in life. Well written, interesting characters. I'd read a book from this author again

I always love a family drama story and this was an interesting one. The characters were interesting with more than a few flaws. I loved the setting and overall enjoyed this book. Looking forward to seeing what this author does next.

Well written characters and well written book. How the other half (probably) lives. Sort of a previously used plotline but with some good twists.

Family. Brooklyn Heights. Marrying outside your class. A street named Pineapple. Private club. Pregnancy. Trust fund. Affair with a married man.

This is a story about wealthy people and their issues.

This is also a. recommendation from Indigo Books CEO. Was not my cup of tea.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me a complimentary e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

Laugh-out-loud funny. I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did, but it was fantastic. Can't wait to see what Jenny Jackson does next.

When I was reading the book, I felt more like reading a non-fiction for some reason. I learned about the part of the world that I didn’t know. I believe one’s life experiences somehow limits one’s understanding of the world, one’s imagination, and empathy. The book definitely touches several social issues and the story itself sounds more realistic to me compared to the more dramatic ones that I read.

It seems that fictional family drama novels are my favourite at the moment and this one did not disappoint. Thank you to Penguin Random House Canada and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy.

This book was really entertaining and easy to read! I particularly enjoyed the three points of view (2 Stockton sisters and the sister-in-law) because they gave such different perspectives into each other's lives (the differences between social classes, opinions, inheritances, and age cohorts). While at times it seemed that the story wasn't really moving forward, the ending tied up nicely and left me satisfied. It's a quick read that gives you a view into the New York elite.
