One More Time for Joy is a wonderful story about second chances in life and in love. Joy's husband has passed away, and she is left to raise her four children who are all grieving the loss of their father in very different ways. Even though Joy is also still grieving, she has to keep her bakery going while caring for her children, especially her oldest son who is now in a wheelchair after a disastrous accident. Joy's brother-in-law, Uriah, steps in to help even though he and his girls are still missing his wife who died several years ago. As Joy and Uriah work to help each other, they begin to see that second chances may be possible after all.

This story was very entertaining as well as meaningful. The author does an absolutely wonderful job with character development. We get a glimpse into the mindsets and motivations of not only the main characters, Joy and Uriah, but also each of their children. We get to understand and sympathize with each character's struggles and triumphs. It amazes me how well the author brings to life so many different characters and personalities, and how she does it so well. And I love the humorous parts with the children trying to figure out, first, how to keep their parents apart, then how to get them together.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, as I have every Amy Lillard book that I've read. This was my first book in the Paradise Valley series, and I will definitely be going back to read the previous two stories. I would definitely recommend this book.

This book was provided to me courtesy of Kensington through NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

The main character in this book, Joy Lehman, is not a young adult, but the mother of several children. After the tragic loss of her husband, Joy started her own business and found success with her bakery. But another serious complication enters Joy’s family life, and she finds herself being pushed to new limits. As her brother-in-law, Uriah, steps up to help her, Joy’s view of the future takes on a completely new view. Uriah himself has been a widower for several years and truly wishes to help Joy’s family. As the two find themselves drawn to each other, Joy’s desire to keep her hard-won independence is also the thing that keeps them apart. But neither Joy nor Uriah understand that the children on both sides of the family have their own plans for them, and their scheming makes this book a delight to read.

I loved reading all the ways that the children in this book came up with to bring Joy and Uriah together. Joy’s own story is heart-touching, but the kids’ plans adds some humor to the book. We not only come to know Joy and Uriah in this story, but we get to know the children, too.
There’s a faith theme of allowing God to work in our lives in His own timing that’s a good reminder to trust Him with each and every day. I love this book and am hoping that we’ll see these characters again in future additions to this series.

I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

This is a sweet visit back to Paradise Valley as two lonely hearts connect to have family time together with their children. Amish widow Joy Lehman is working hard to be able to support her family after the loss of her husband several years ago and now the fall that crippled her oldest son that has caused some family dissension. She has a successful bakery in her basement. Her brother-in-law, Uriah, and his daughters are living without his wife, who died a few years ago, and are a closeknit family. It was nice to see them enjoy their time together and watch their children become close to their cousins. Sweet romance of second chances with faith intertwined.
I received a copy for the purpose of an honest review. These are my thoughts.

I absolutely adore this book! Lillard writes her characters with such sensitivity as they grapple through life's ups and downs, navigating heartbreak and healing. I love Joy and Uriah, but also all the kids are so well written as the narrative shifts between the adults and the children. The blending of the families is a joy to read, especially the infamous Friday family dinners! Many authors write in this Amish genre, but Lillard's style and sensitive adds a fresh take to this genre. One of my favorite Amish fiction reads so far! 5 gushing stars...
Thanks #NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC.

One More Time for Joy by Amy Lillard is a sweet story. One More Time for Joy is the third book in the Paradise Valley series. It can be read as a standalone if you are new to the series. I have enjoyed each book in this charming series. We get to catch up with the characters from the first two stories. I like the characters in this story. They are kind, hardworking individuals. Joy is doing her best to raise her children on her own since the death of her husband. Joy’s oldest son, Johnny was injured in an accident. He is confined to a wheelchair. Unfortunately, Joy’s house is not setup for someone in a wheelchair. Joy’s brother-in-law, Uriah wishes to help. It will make life easier for Johnny and Joy. Uriah just needs to convince Joy. The story centers on family and faith. Joy and Uriah are both hardworking individuals who love their kids. Uriah is a widower with four daughters. There is some repetition of key details especially Joy’s hope that her son will walk again. I like that the author addresses the challenges handicapped individuals face in a home. Uriah is a kind and patient individual. He is going to need that patience when dealing with Joy. The romance is sweet, and it progressed at the right pace. I enjoyed the humor sprinkled throughout the story. Joy learns the importance of trusting God and following His path. One More Time for Joy is an uplifting tale with constricted doorways, delectable bread, an obliging brother-in-law, troubled daughters, an optimistic mother, and a giving God.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this book.
It was such a powerful and uplifting that I felt so good while I was reading it and even afterwards.
In this third book in the Paradise Valley series the “Whoopie Pie Widow’s Club,” a group of widowed women whom Joy is a part of help each other and others in need in the community in their time of need. In Joy's case she has a wheelchair bound son who is bitterly disappointed when doctors tell him he'll never walk again.
I just loved Joy's character, after her husband's death she has to support her children and she works long, exhausting hours in her home bakery, with very little help.
Widower Uriah, who happens to be her brother-in-law is contacted by the Widowers club to help with some home improvements at Joy's home to accommodate her son's wheelchair.
Joy and Uriah both being widowed with children have challenges in their daily lives but do have a positive outlook on life. I loved seeing the children from each family become more involved with the other family in trying to bring their parents together. I very much enjoyed meeting Johnny, Joy's wheelchair bound son and hope we'll see an update on him in a future book.
There is support from each family member as the relationship between Joy and Uriah progresses and I think they know how the relationship will turn out before the couple does.
Such a positive and uplifting book that I was happy to have read.

This is the third book in the series but even though it was my first, I had no trouble following along. I really enjoyed Joy and Uriah's story. Joy wanted to stand on her own after losing her husband, and she has. Uriah lost his wife but he wanted to help Joy who was his brothers widow, after her son was injured. I loved this book. I was provided a copy of this book by Netgalley but the opinions are mine.

I loved this story of family, romance and second chances. I love reading Amish fiction and this is a wonderful. example of a great one. I love Joy and Uriah and all of their children. I enjoyed reading about the different ways to decorate cookies and I could smell them baking while reading this story. I loved seeing how these two families came back from disasters in different ways. I received a copy of this book from the publisher for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

One More Time for Joy is an engaging Amish romance novel by Amy Lillard. I enjoyed watching Joy, a young widow with a disabled son, and her widower, brother-in-law, Uriah's journey to second chance love. Joy's reluctance to keep her independence and not remarry brings considerable romantic tension to the story. Even though the book is a part of the Paradise Valley series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone story. It is interesting to see characters from the first two books but the author does a good job filling in back stories so the reader is not left with a lot of questions or confusion. The reaction of Joy's and Uriah's children regarding their parent's relationship is great!! The community of friends and the Widow's Club, humor, and a thread of faith all kept my interest high. I read a complimentary copy of the book and was not required to write a positive review. The opinions are my own.

One More Time for Joy by Amy Lillard is the latest Paradise Valley book. Joy and Uriah are in laws by marriage. Joy was married to Uriah's brother. Both are widows. When Joy’s son has an accident and is wheelchair bound, Uriah decides to help build him a room so he can have more freedoms. As the two families spend more time together, it is obvious to everyone that there is something brewing between Uriah and Joy. To everyone but the two of them at least. With Lillard’s familiar humor and sweet heart, the story examines how one moves on after loss. And how one finds hope in the future. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

One More Time for Joy is Lillard's third book in the Paradise Valley series. Joy Lehman's husband has died, and her oldest son, Johnny, has suffered a spinal injury from a fall from the hayloft and is unable to walk. Now wheelchair-bound, their house is not equipped for him to easily move about. Enter Uriah, Joy's brother-in-law, who is a widower. He owns the local lumberyard and is more than willing to provide the materials and labor to widen doorways and add on a dawdi haus for Johnny. Will joy allow Uriah to help her? And what kind of relationship might develop between the two of them?

I enjoyed this Amish fiction read. It did seem that there was some repetition in the story to me, but overall, it was an enjoyable read with an emphasis on forgiveness. .

One More Time for Joy is the third book in the Paradise Valley trilogy. Joy Lehman is mourning the loss of her husband. She is successfully running her bakery but, as a single parent, she is woefully feeling like she is neglecting her children and home. Meanwhile, her brother in law, Uriah Lehman, is mourning the loss of his wife. Running his business, he has allowed his four daughters to take over the home and work involved. When they start to help one another, will they find a love that grows? Or will others not be so accepting?
Even though each of these characters were written as strong and independent, they come to the conclusion that one can be stronger with the help of others. This is reminiscent of the movie Yours, Mine and Ours, one of my favorite movies. I really enjoyed this story. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.

This is an Amish Fiction book, and this is the third book in the Paradise Valley series. I have read and reviewed the first two books in this series. I have to say I really did not like any of the characters in this book, and I could not connect to any of them. I ended up DNFing this book because I just found the characters just said the same things over and over. I was just really done with this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Oh how I loved this read! We are back in Paradise Valley, and yes, this can be read alone, there are some mentions of past books!

This is Joy and Uriah Lehman's story, they are related to one another by Joy's deceased husband, Uriah's brother. Joy is now supporting her family by running a successful bakery, but she sure has a lot of life's challenges.

This is a story of families, both dealing with the loss of a mother/father, and the blooming relationship of the survivors, but, there are those who are against this and we journey to see if there can be a uniting of these families.

Joy is such a strong parent, she found a way to survive and she is still hoping her son will overcome what the Doctors say is not possible. This is a hard story to leave, I wanted to continue in the lives of these people I had come to care about.

I received this book through the Publisher Kensington, and was not required to give a positive review.

This story was endearing and full of hope for both Joy and Uriah. When love after loss is not what was expected and just trying to keep their families going. Will a second chase come for both or will go their separate ways. A story of helping, faith and second chance.

Great Read

Widow Joy Lehman and widower Uriah Lehman have much in common. Each has four children, has experienced the loss of a spouse, faces the demands of running a business and deals with the challenges of being a single parent. Add to that the fact that they are in-laws related through their spouses, and you have quite an interesting mix.

Joy's son, Johnny B, suffered an accident that resulted in severely limiting his mobility. As Uriah comes to the realization of the difficulties that this is causing Joy and the family, he quickly steps up to help. It's a rocky start but results in their families spending more time together. Their family time in turn sparks some very interesting reactions from the characters. It even resulted in some of them resorting to planning and plotting, which caused me to smile and laugh on more than one occasion. Watching Joy and Uriah journeying through their trials and seeking God's will more deeply in their lives and in their relationship was beautiful and inspiring. It deeply touched my heart and kept me glued to the story wondering how it would all come together.

One More Time for Joy is a beautiful story of faith, hope, family, second chances, and overcoming wrapped up in an Amish romance. It is also a truly great read that I highly recommend.
