I am a huge fan of Ana’s writing. And was excited to listen to list book in audiobook format. This is a bit of a departure from her other books but still great.

I can’t help feel like this book tells the story of fate. I was a great story start to finish.

From an audiobook perspective, I really enjoyed the dual POV being done by two separate narrators. Their voices were easy to listen to and understand. I prefer to listen to my audiobooks at 1.2 or even 1.4x faster than the standard recording however this wasn’t possible with this book as the voices got distorted. I’m not sure if it was simply the format/program I was using or not but it made for a slightly less enjoyable experience for me.

This is a story of a cocky ex-jock and a virgin who meet while studying abroad for a year in Shanghai. So first of all, I didn’t really care for Blake and his attitude in the beginning. Guys like that always turned me off with their cockiness. So it took me awhile to warm up to him. Ferrah tries to fight her attraction to him but ends up falling for him. Its your typical NA storyline. Boy changes because of girl but messes up and sabotages the relationship. The story was enjoyable enough but I wasn’t sucked into the story as much as I would have liked.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me a free ARC in exchange for an honest review! A great sounding audiobook and an amazing story. Ana can honestly do no wrong! I was a little skeptical at first because I though this book was YA and I am very picky about my audiobooks. However, this book is most definitely NA and the audio book is amazing. Absolutely recommending it to anyone and everyone!

If We Ever Meet Again by Ana Huang was a great audio! The narration was fantastic and the story was captivating. I loved it so much I can't wait to read/listen to the sequel! Blake and Farrah are swoony, sexy and a very easy read. While the plot was predictable, the banter, immersive location details and an ending that leaves you hanging more than make up for it. I found the ending a bit slow, but look forward to seeing how the story unfolds next.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tantor Audio for this ALC!

Slow burn college romance. First love, steam and heartbreak. Great characters and fun and steamy times.
Blake and Farrah meet studying abroad in Shanghai. They are among a small group of friends that grown close over the year. The grow close and start a sweet romance. We get their story from the first meeting. Everything was great until it wasn’t.
Blake is a ex football player. He was one of the best but his heart was not in the sport. He left football, his girlfriend and his home. It sent shock waves through the sport world and his family.
When he meets Farrah, his feelings surprise him. Neither saw it coming but embraced it. They are good together. Sexy, sweet, and fun. They share the secrets and fears.
Then Blake does the unthinkable and breaks Farrah’s heart. He lies instead of giving her the full truth. They part on those lies and secrets. In the end Farrah gets a bit a closure and a new start. Just as Nlake wanted. However their story is not over……,

If we Ever Meet Again tells the story of two college students in a study abroad program in Shanghai. Farrah is a shy quiet girl from Los Angeles, We are to believe, even from the book synopsis, that her main defining feature is that she is a virgin. Blake is an ex-football star playboy who wants to open a sports bar. They fall for each other but circumstances act against them. I believe this is supposed to be the first installment of a two part series, so we will see their second chance romance in the next book.

So my opinion of the book, hmm, I liked the book okay enough and will likely check out the second one, but I didn't really get fully invested in the love story. I just didn't understand why the Farrah and Blake liked one another. On a positive note, the book was very steamy in all the right ways!

I listened to the audiobook and the narrators did a good job and would highly recommend reading the book in that format.

Loved how the setting played a big part on Blake and Farrah’s love blossoming. Really like how their group of friends was present throughout the entire book and weren’t abandoned. Great writing flowed nicely. All characters seem to be developed well. Definitely felt like the story wasn’t finish, good thing there is a book #2.

Blake and Farrah are studying abroad in Shanghai. They have friends in common so meeting was inevitable. They start off by not liking each other but as they end up spending time together sparks start flying and before they know it the perfect love story begins. Blake is an ex football player who can’t fathom how romantic and cheesy he has become since he met Farrah. She has never been in love but can’t help falling in love with Blake and his blue eyes and perfect dimples. . The school year comes to an end and maybe so does their love story. I loved the story couldn’t stop listening to the audiobook. Ana Huang is romance queen.

I love a good audiobook, especially when it has dual narration, and Cindy Kay and Aiden Snow were the perfect voice actors for Farrah and Blake. I don’t think the story could have been told without dual POV and Cindy’s youthful voice fit perfectly with Farrah’s young age and naïveté, whereas Aiden’s deep voice captured the idea of Blake as the more worldly, masculine character. That being said, I struggled with this book. It was easy and enjoyable to listen to, the story was engaging, but the plot points felt lacking. I think the problem was that it felt like a YA book (probably because it takes place amongst 19-20 year olds in college), but the steam was definitely adult content. And don’t get me wrong, I enjoy some steam, I guess what I mean is that the maturity level of the characters perhaps did not meet the way they acted. I do not have a problem with a “surprise” or twist plot, and even kind of expected it more than halfway through (from the opening scene, you know things will go awry between Farrah and Blake). BUT the way the book ends, had me going, “Wait, what?” I literally went back and re-listened because I was sure the book didn’t end where it did. So perhaps that is my other problem: this book is mis-marketed as a romance because it does not have a Happy Ever After, at least not by the ending of the book (I am not sure if Farrah and Blake’s story continues in a second book, and this was not a cliffhanger). I kept expecting more resolution between Farrah and Blake, but never got it. So perhaps this is more like real life in that way, than a romance. Love is definitely involved, but the lacking communication and immaturity of one of the characters is a little more real life than I would have liked. That being said, I believe Ana Huang definitely has potential to write some amazing stories, I think this one was just not quite what I was expecting. This is the second series I have read from Ana Huang and I really love how she tells stories. Having this as an audiobook was perfect and the storytellers voice was amazing. I did think this was a standalone when going in so having that cliffhanger at the end had me ready to run and listen to the next one.

I was so excited to listen to this audiobook because I love Ana Huang. The audio for this book does not disappoint. I really enjoyed my experience. I wish I would have known that this was book 1 of 2 because I was not expecting the cliffhanger until I read several readers' reviews. I prefer stand alone books as opposed to series or duets due to my own lack of focus on a couple for an extended period of time, but I will be looking to get a copy of book two in this duet to finish their story. Definitely worth the listen / read, but only rating 3 stars because I love the other books I've read by Ana Huang so much more.

Initially I enjoyed this book. It was steamy and lots of it was cute. However I really don't like the cheating trope and that really ruined it for me. The Chloe plotline was so unfortunate and didn't seem believable. What happened seemed unrealistic. I don't think I'll read the next book even though I'd like to see their HEA, but I also don't like how Blake dealt with everything, and am not invested enough to read another book about them.

Oh wow… I am way more emotional after finishing this than I had expected lol

💖 new adult romance
💖 Set in Shanghai
💖 Dual POV
💖 Great chemistry and big feelings
💖 Book 1 in a Duet

I really enjoyed Blake and Farrah’s story! I believe this duet came out prior to Ana Huang’s Twisted series so when i saw the audiobook available on Netgalley, I knew I needed to request it. Overall, I thought this was a solid new adult, coming-of-age story that actually really hit me in the feels. Be warned though that since this is a duet, it does not end in a HEA (need to read book 2 soon!) and I wasn’t the biggest fan of the conflict, but I enjoyed the setting, the relationship development, and the secondary characters.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💫

This book is cute. It's a good base story with a lot of potential. I think the narration is a little off, the way the the story is told it's almost like it was written in a POV, then switched to a different POV & everything wasn't translated, making it sound like the character was speaking in third person. Like I said it was a good baseline but I think the formatting took away from me enjoying the book. Like I said I do think that this has potential it just needs re formatted

This is a sweet newly developed friendship that builds up to an unputdownable steamy romance. I liked both of the main characters and enjoyed their banter and how they cared for each other. I didn't realize this story was going to end in somewhat of a cliffhanger, and I can't wait till the second book comes out!

Tropes/Themes:
-MF contemporary romance
-New Adult (college backdrop)
-Second chance romance
-Former Football Player Hero x Virgin Heroine
-Set in Shanghai
-Dual POV
-Book 1 in a duet (HEA guaranteed in book 2)

I was super excited to dive into Ana Huang’s backlist via audiobook after reading and loving her Twisted series. To be honest, I probably went into this with unrealistic expectations because this ended up being a just fine read. Absolutely nothing against Ana Huang or the way this book was written though, I just think I’m starting to outgrow this type of new adult romance. I found it hard to get invested in the characters, their relationship, or the plot. I can’t fault anyone by myself for that though, because I’ve been skeptical about new adult for a while now. HOWEVER, if you’re someone that likes new adult and coming of age romances, you’ll probably love this! Even though this is some of her earlier work, Ana Huang’s writing style is beautiful and incredibly transportive. While I likely won’t continue on in this series, I imagine these books will really work for a lot of people.

When it comes to the audiobook though, Cindy Kay and Aiden Snow did an absolutely FANTASTIC job!! Aiden Snow is one of my all-time favorite narrators, so it’s no surprise that I loved this. If you’re looking to pick this book, I’d definitely recommend listening to the audiobook.

The plot's a cliché with certain tropes i don't really like. This is not a HEA, Infact you know what will happen as the book starts with Blake's & Farrah's relationship ending only.
Still their initial meetings were really fun.
They will have a second chance in the next book, which promises to be a HEA.

The Asian representation & cultural aspect in this book was beautiful. It would make you want to experience Shanghai & everything described in the book yourself.

Their friend circle was fun & dramatic at the same time, I like them despite not being able to remember some of their names, yk there’s a lot of them.

The reason of their breakup makes me really mad, like really really mad, & the fact that it might be my most disliked cliché😑

I LOVED this audiobook! I normally prefer books, but once I saw it was Ana Huang, I had to request it.
This was very well narrated and it definitely held my interest.
Blake & Farrah’s story was full of love, passion, and heartbreak. The story takes place at a college in Shanghai. He’s an ex football player trying to find his way and she’s a strong but sweet student into interior design. This was more emotional than I expected, but I really enjoyed it. The supporting characters were great too and can’t wait to read their stories. This book is in a series and I immediately purchased and read the next book! Which I also loved 🥰 Such a heartbreakingly beautiful story!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

If We Ever Meet Again was good. I expected it to be cute and sweet with a bit of steam and it was all of that plus funny but what I didn’t expect was my emotional response to it, to the characters. I cannot wait to read the rest of Blake and Farrah’s story as well as the secondary characters. I loved that this book was set in a place that I don’t think I’ve ever read about. This is my first book by this author but it most definitely won’t be my last.

I enjoyed the narration of this book. I think the narrators did a pretty decent job of bringing these characters and story to life.

3.5-4 stars!
Blake and Farrahs story starts at the end but then we get to see how the relationship started out as friends turning into romance to being in love then ending where the story started at the end.

This takes place in college in Shanghai. for an exchange program. Blake has decided football is not what he wants. His Ex girlfriend was better off as a friend not someone he wants to marry these wants are what his father and family wanted. There has been a riff since he left for school to get a fresh start and see what he wants to do with his life.

Farrah loves design she loves to travel and is happy with the life she has the friends as she works on her dreams and the beauty of the world. When she meets Blake he's just another jock and not someone she's interested in being friends with let alone dating. The more time they spend together the closer they get and the more they can't deny they are meant to be.

It was interesting to read there story knowing how it ends. I'm excited to get to read the 2nd story see if they can find there way back to each other or to see if they find there happy ever after somewhere else.

Thank you NetGalley for this Audio Arc in exchange for my honest review.
