Thank you to Netgalley for letting me read And review this book.
Betty white was a national treasure. I hate that I have to write about her in the past tense. She was 100% America's, grandma! I was devastated that 2022 took her from us at the Last second so close to her 100th birthday
This book is a great tribute to her. If you haven’t seen it, I recommend everyone watch Golden Girls!
Rip Betty!

This book looks at Betty’s life through the eyes of her lifelong friend. I loved the perspective of this and thought it made for a great book. This book focuses not on Betty’s work, but the impact she had on friends and others around her.
This was a beautiful tribute to the late Betty White. It was a honor to get to know her better through this book.
For those of us who grew up watching The Golden Girls, Betty White has always been very near and dear to our hearts. She was like everyone's surrogate grandmother and it was very heartbreaking when she passed away. She almost seemed too pure and good for this world and I am glad we were blessed with her presence for so many years and in so many forms. This is a beautiful tribute by a dear friend that gives us insight into who Betty was a a person and I am glad I was given the chance to read it.
How could you not love Betty White? What a treasure she was!
In Betty White's Pearls of Wisdom by Patty Sullivan, we get a more intimate look into Betty’s life as told through the eyes of her lifelong friend and adopted family member. I found this book to be really good and learned a lot about Betty that I didn't know.
Patty Sullivan has given us a glimpse into the life and values of the amazing Betty White in Betty White's Pearls of Wisdom. I voluntarily read and reviewed this complimentary copy of this well-written book. I highly recommend this treasure of a book!
I loved the snippets, the stories, the advice and the insight into the particulars of Betty White's life. However, I was often lost at the somewhat random inclusion of a new person without much of an introduction. Furthermore, I often thought that much of the writing wasn't really about, or coming from, tales of Betty White, which I had expected from the read. Nonetheless, I was interested enough to finish the book and keep it on my shelf to pass along to friends in the future!
Betty White from start to finish. Loved her humor for decades but never knew her story. Still watch Golden Girls reruns just to watch her. She was a star in every meaning of the word.
Thank you to Forefront Books and Netgalley for the copy of this book to review!
This book was truly full of great stories about the fantastic, loving, wonderful Betty White. Her love for family, her late husband, her friends, and animals radiates off the pages.
It's very clear that Patty Sullivan and her family were very important to Betty and they loved her dearly. The issue I have with this book is that a huge theme in this book, repeated constantly, are stories about how much Betty White loved the Sullivans. Almost as if this is what the book is about, how close the Sullivans were to Betty. Almost verging on bragging to the reader.
Overall, any book of Betty White stories is a good one, regardless of any criticism
Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest, personal review. Betty White was such a light and I really enjoyed reading books that were personally written by her. This book is a close friend's perspective and they write about her so lovingly, that you feel like you are getting to know her more as a person. She is missed by many but this is filled with additional stories that any Betty White fan will enjoy, such as her deep connection to animals and all she did for them.
I've been a longtime fan of Betty White, and recall with fondness watching her as Rose Nylin on Golden Girls when I was a teenager. Her character on the show always seemed so warm and funny, and that's how I envisioned Betty White to be in real life. This book definitely confirmed my thoughts.
Written by Patty Sullivan, a lifelong friend of the actress, the book captures the essence of Betty and provides her insights on topics like love, friendship, aging, and animals.
It was a lovely tribute to Betty Whit, and I found the book heartwarming.
Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was such a sweet and lovely book about Betty White.
I especially loved the little details about her everyday life: like how she loved her dogs and the beauty of nature.
If loved her movies and want to know more about her, this is definitely your book.
I was so lucky to receive an advance copy of Betty White's Pearls of Wisdom by Patty Sullivan from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. Anything with the name Betty White in it will always grab my attention as I absolutely loved her spunk! This book was told through the eyes of Betty's dear friend. This book is more about being Betty's friend and how special she was to everyone who knew and loved her. I really enjoyed this book and only wish I would have been lucky enough to be one of Betty's friends.
I received an electronic ARC of this exceptional memoir from Netgalley, author Patty Sullivan, and publisher Simon&Schuster - Forefront Books. Thank you all for sharing your hard work with me. I have read Pearls of Wisdom of my own volition, and this review reflects my honest opinion of this work. I am pleased to recommend Pearl's of Wisdom to friends and family. Patty Sullivan, wife of Tom with who Betty wrote several books, brings us back to the life and times of this woman who made such a strong impact in the lives of many of my contemporaries. She is why I became a tree-hugger, an animal advocate, and a recycling fool. Thank you, Ms. Sullivan, for reminding us of where we acquired our 'clean up our world' notions and the need for the love of critters of all kinds in our lives. Life would be pretty dull without the influence of Ms. Better White. It is good to see a little window into her life, to know that her whole 99 years were filled with kids and dogs and sand and sea. What a lady!
Betty White’s Pearls of Wisdom is essentially a love letter and celebration of her life. It is a heartfelt tribute to a very dear friend. The Sullivans (Patty and her blind husband Tom) first met Betty White and Alan Ludden in 1969 and became fast friends. Patty Sullivan, the author of Betty White’s Pearls of Wisdom, recounts many fascinating stories about Betty White as well as life lessons throughout the years via their close friendship. Above all else, Betty White’s Pearls of Wisdom is about family (the Sullivans became her adopted family), commitment, dedication, and compassion.
While I always greatly enjoyed watching Betty White perform, I did not really know that much about her. But after reading this book, some words I would use to describe her are extraordinary, kind, remarkable, fascinating, compassionate, amazing, wise, and exceptional. She loved animals and shared that love through philanthropy. There is no doubt that Betty White was a wonderful, caring soul that made the world a better place.
Fans of Betty White will get an intimate glimpse into her life along with her pearls of wisdom. The reader will feel like a part of this trio by hearing their meaningful conversations. The world lost an Angel in 2021 and this book provides a last look through loving memories that Patty Sullivan has graciously shared.
Thank you to Forefront Books distributed by Simon & Schuster and NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.
What a special blessing this book is, a generous sharing of the ‘inside’ Betty White – not just the public side we are familiar with. Reading it has been like she is still here, sharing her ‘Pearls of Wisdom’ as she did throughout her life. We all knew she was a wonderful, most special lady, but there was so much more to her than most of us were aware of. And she was genuine – it was not a public ‘face’, she was really like that in the way she lived. We are privileged to still have reminders of her on film, & now in book form as well : she will long live in our memories. Thankyou, Betty White, for a life well lived, & thankyou, Patty Sullivan, for sharing what you have done here.
Sorry I did not get to read this book. The Kindle file gave me some issues - this was a kindle issue. I didn't want to make a stink of it with amazon or to try to get this book elsewhere for review.
I will be purchasing it as a Betty White fan
Readers will find an intimate look into Betty’s life as told through the eyes of Patty Sullivan, her lifelong friend and adopted family member. The stories are easy to understand. There are six lessons in the book. She loved playing Scrabble, loved nature and animals. Betty was a great comedian. It was wonderful reading this book as I do remember watching on the tv show “The Mary Tyler show” and “The Golden Girls.“. I loved seeing Betty in a more personal way. She was a wonderful woman who enriched all our lives.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.
A beautiful sneak peak into the private life of a wonderful funny human being.
In a world that focuses on negativity and wonderful to read something full of positivity and love.
Betty White was loved by everyone and she spent her life and fortune helping animals and friends. Patty Sullivan and her husband were lifelong friends of Betty and her husband, Alan. This book has chapters that use a favorite saying or philosophy of Betty’s and explains how her life experiences taught her this lesson. An easy quick read that give insight to her life in Hollywood and her private life in Carmel. Enjoy.
