Quick Summary: A full circle, friends to lovers romance
My Review: Mixed Signals by B.K. Borison was an unexpected treat.
About the Characters: Layla and Caleb were darling. I think they were each charming in their own way. They were so similar and yet so different. The whole premise of how they would help each other was cute. Catching feelings was inevitable. Their story was so real. Maybe that is what made it so endearing.
My Final Say: Readers who adore an underdog romance will love this story.

I voluntarily read this work via NetGalley. The words I have shared are my own. Appreciation is extended to the author and to the publisher, who provided access to this title in exchange for an honest review.

There are no mixed signals here on how much I love this book. BK Borinson, I am your biggest flan 🤣. Seriously, I have been waiting for this book since I met these characters in book 1. I cannot articulate the hold this book has on my heart. This author shines with every book she writes. What she can do with 26 letters and some punctuation marks is unlike any other author I have read before.
Never underestimate the power of a good looking Hawaiian shirt. Caleb is the kind of guy you dream about. He’s warm and kind and wears his heart on his sleeve, but he also has a spicy side to him that makes him more than “butter-croissant nice”. He’s unlike any other guy I have read. Layla is the girl that romance books are made of, but she’s nothing like the stereotypical “baker”. She is flawed and complex with more to her than how well she can bake a tart. She is relatable because of how authentic she is and how her internal struggles are things everyone has felt at one point or another.
This book is so good. It’s “like suddenly-buy-a-Christmas-tree-farm-and-demo-half-the-buildings invested. Binge-watch-all-of-Deadliest-Catch-after-reading-one-book-about-crab-fishermen invested.” You easily become attached to this world and these characters. And I’m beyond excited that I do not have to say goodbye to this world yet and that this author has more to come!
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this ALC

Gosh darnit, I LOVED THIS!
This may be my favorite of the series! I adored Layla and Caleb so so much - they agree to kind of like fake date, but its more like experiment date - which of course turns into more. The chemistry was amazing and honestly this book almost had me in tears at one point. I felt for these characters and just wanted them to be happy! This story was cute, funny (literally LOL'd at times), swoony, and sexy - a perfect combo if you ask me :)
Rating: 4.5 stars!
Also, the audiobook was great!!

Mixed Signals is perfection!
I loved everything about this. The hopeful, romantic heroine rating the hero's dating skills and the golden retriever hero trying to renew her faith in men. It's a recipe for a really fun romance.
Caleb and Layla were the best couple I've read in a long time. They were so cute and lovely with each other. I loved how considerate Caleb was and Layla was so sweet with him. I think the romance developed at the perfect pace. Nothing happened too quickly and I liked that they communicated.
The steamy scenes delivered too! I mean baked goods as foreplay...love it!
The narrator was wonderful. I really liked their voice and it drew me into the story even more.
A romantic story that helps fellow romantics believe in love.

Ok, I get the hype now. How can you not love Layla and Caleb in this sweet sweet story of these two characters who are so heartfelt and have the sweetest development of their relationship. I enjoyed this story and really felt my heart melt as these two drew closer and got to see the side of each other that they don’t share with anyone else. By the end I was swooning and sighing and maybe tearing up a bit. Truly a beautiful story and one I can definitely see myself rereading again soon!
Read this if you love:

Many thanks to NetGalley for an advanced audiobook copy of this story. The narrators did a fabulous job bringing this story to life. All thoughts are my own.

Mixed Signals is maybe my favorite book in the Lovelight series so far! How is that even possible?
I was so excited to start Mixed Signals because I have been eating up the tension B.K. Borison wrote between Caleb and Layla in the first two books. She definitely delivered and gave these two their time to shine! In Mixed Signals, Caleb and Layla agree to practice dating each other since they haven't had any luck in love lately. It is clear to literally everyone else though that they are perfect for each other and the practice dating eventually starts to feel a little too real...
This book is sweet and steamy and just amazing. I devoured it in one day and have been recommending it to all of my friends! If you like books by Chloe Liese you will love this series.

I adored this book! Layla and Caleb are so adorable and so open with each other. It was a nice twist on the fake dating trope. I loved getting to see more of the residents of Inglewild as always!

Oh man. What a sweet story.
I shouldn’t be surprised.
I love this series so much!
These books are such a pleasure to read.
Sweet and spicy and comforting.
I smiled stupidly through the majority of this story.
CALEB! Oh my word. 🔥🥵😭😍
Layla- so relatable and funny and endearing.
