Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me free access to the advanced digital copy of this book, as this book has already been published, I will not share my review on Netgalley at this time.
Nathan finds himself lost and separated from his friends at the worst time: a war is brewing and Stryx is gaining power faster than anyone could have imagined. Now Nathan and his friends have to find each other so they can figure out how to defeat Stryx, each other, and Nothing.
I loved the first book and was excited to see how the story continues only to find that the story itself could’ve used some polishing. The pacing was slow and the story seemed to flounder for quite a while and made me lose interest a few times. I don’t think it’s a bad book by any means, but I do think it needed more work to really tighten the story because it lacked direction and really dragged for quite a bit.
That said, it was cute for what it was and I enjoyed seeing all the characters again. When the story finally found its direction and started moving along, it was really good from that point on. I was happy to finally feel excited about the story at that point. The artwork is also absolutely stunning and carried the book while the plots tried to get themselves in order.
All in all, I wish the book had more direction and used more of its time to tell the story rather than going around in circles when so much of the story was already established. I did enjoy it, but I can’t picture myself rereading this installment while I would reread the series opener.
I so wish these creators had been able to make this series a trilogy! Two books really wasn't enough for the story they were telling. I still very much enjoyed this sequel, but the first third or so moves at such a breakneck pace to usher us along into the next plot point that it did create some friction in the reading experience. Still, the art is gorgeous, the story is heartfelt, and the conclusion was really sweet.
I was thrilled to be able to read an arc of the lost legends of nothing and I loved it a lot! It starts where the previous story ends and has a very satisfying conclusion (though I wouldn’t say no to another sequel!)
I love all of these characters SO MUCH, and the art style is GORGEOUS.
I can’t wait to get a physical copy of this one!
The second book in the series about Nothing. The illustrations are very vivid and colorful, adding dimensions to the story. I found the messages shared throughout the story about friendship and found family to be heartwarming. The only aspect that felt a little jarring was the language for a middle grade audience reader. Thank you to NetGalley and Katherine Tegen Books! All thoughts and opinions are my own!
The second installation of Lost Legends of Nothing graphic novel. This is a chunky second part of the duology that is lots of fun and wraps up at the end ( with an unexpected ending). The books are brightly illustrated and the world is magical and interesting with bits of political kerfuffle happening but the main story centers around some everyday type people.
There are some great close calls to add tension to the story's pacing. The characters are all pretty different from each other and real-feeling. My favorite is obviously the fourth-wall breaking prince-though all the characters are amazing in their own ways like Nathan and his terrible jokes/puns, or the fact that he's totally a bard.
Such a fun romp. I would love to see more tales of the land of Nothing, or a continuation of this group's exploration beyond the sea.
A fantastic follow up to the beloved first in the series. Gorgeous art and a story and wit that elevates this title to the same calibre as the modern classic animated tales we have all grown to love.
After reading the first one I was so excited to get my hands on this one and I was not disappointed! the story is so fun and the art is beautiful and fits the story so well. I am glad to have been introduced to this series and I cant wait to see what happens next!
Thank you HarperCollins Children’s Books and NetGalley for the advanced electronic review copy of this wonderful book. Great, fast moving plot, lots of action, magic, interesting world building and a great cast of characters make for a very enjoyable read. Close to halfway I realized that this is the second book in the series, but it did not detract from my understanding of the plot or the overall enjoyment of the story. I definitely recommend this book and would not go read the first one.
This was such a great follow-up to the first volume! I loved how much we learned about Nothing's history as we journeyed with our heroes. As their quest to save Nothing continues, Nathan, Haven, Sina, and Bardou are trying to defeat the evil Stryx and hopefully in the end, make a better kingdom. We meet a wide cast of characters in this volume and we get to catch up with some from the first volume. I honestly, really enjoyed this second volume and loved the conclusion to the story. I would love if there was another book published in this world!
I was so excited to see I got this while I was reading the first graphic novel in the series! I love this story! The artwork is amazing! One of my favorite is how great the story line is and they add some comedy on top of it! The only thing I didn’t like about this volume is how long it was! It seemed like they needed to get into everyone’s back story. Yes backstories are great but maybe spread them out because they did leave off to have a 3rd volume! I will definitely be picking up the third one to see where they go!
Although I realized halfway through that this was a sequel to a story I hadn’t read, I still really enjoyed the art style and original characters.
I received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
It's time to finish their adventures and current quest in the kingdom of Nothing. For Nathan, Haven, Sina, and Bardou, it's all about learning from Nothing's past mistakes and being ready to make a better kingdom. War has begun between different groups; new enemies are revealed, and keeping magic alive is a huge burden for all of them. Making their way to The Edge and trying to defeat Stryx is a lot, but can all four of them finally conquer evil and allow peace?
Another colorful graphic novel from writer and illustrator Green and Rodriguez comes to a highly fast-paced adventure of mystical creatures and doomed kingdoms. Chaos takes to the capital's street, and I enjoyed every fight scene and heartwarming moments between all four characters. Is it me, or does Bardou like Haven? I was happy to read this advanced copy from Netgalley and finally know what goes on in this sequel. The art design and character development keep improving, and perhaps a story about "Something" down the road?
This wasn't my cup of tea. I made the mistake of glancing at the cover and title before realizing this is a graphic novel. So, I guess I am not the targeted demographic for this book. I probably will not continue with the series, again, not into graphic novels. However, it was a quick read, humorous for what it is.
Note: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was such a lovely sequel in the Nothing series. The characters were just as endearing, the plot was just as gripping, and the exploration of more ancient magic was so cool! Plus, it was sweet to finally see the trio of Lerina, Akio, and Alba reunite; they deserve some real rest now!! Corny jokes aside, I hope we get something more out of this series in the future because it truly has it all—beautiful artwork, flawed but good characters, intricate plotlines, magic, and best of all, true friendship.
Full review to come on Goodreads and Amazon. Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for a review copy.
I absolutely adore graphic novels and it’s even better if they have LGBTQIA+ rep! In something marketed for children/YA!
This is the second in a series I believe and it follows a group of found family misfits who definitely get into a lot of trouble. I loved Haven so much. They never stopped fighting against the odds no matter what.
I had to go back and read the first graphic novel before finishing this one because I was very lost on what was going on. However, the storytelling is so good! The world building, amazing. I loved it so much. I’m planning to buy these for my nephew and assign them as homeschool work for his reading class!
The world of Nothing is so such an immersive one that I enjoyed even more this time around. I love how much more information we got about the world's past, and I cannot wait to see what else we learn if the authors return to it again. Found family stories are always my favorite, and Nathan, Haven, Sina, and Bardou are such a great group. I love their dynamic, and I hope we get more of them soon.
The art style was stunning, just like the last volume, especially the bright coloring. It's beautiful to look at, along with a fantastic storyline. I highly recommend picking up this volume along with the first if you have not. They are great reads with interesting world-building, fleshed-out characters, and unique mythology. Overall, it's a fun read that I believe fantasy lovers will enjoy. I preordered my copy as soon as I heard about it, and I love that I was given the opportunity to read it early.
*Thank you to Netgalley for my ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.*

Lost Legends of Nothing has a fantastic premise, but the execution fell flat. I'm sure others will find enjoyment in the world of Nothing, but unfortunately, I didn't fall in love with the characters or writing style. The art is full of rich colors that bring vibrancy to the world, and I enjoyed looking at it.
I love that this is a fantasy world that we are immersed in and not a portal fantasy. This series has a detailed map that gives a great fantasy vibe.
Like the first one, it has a large cast of characters. These are different points of view (that end up teaming up) but the plot is quite fast and sometimes I wonder if I miss any pages of these short chapters and feel I don't keep track of all the information.
Lots of action, magic, and dealing with the war between two different groups, plot twists, and awesome characters. The art is good, not very detailed backgrounds but great to build their world.
My favorite character is Haven. And I love the mythical/ mystical part of the story with the volken.
