This was an interesting read and I definitely did not see that twist coming!
A mystery that will keep you on your toes.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
The Lost Wife by G. Lees, published by Harper Collins UK / One More Chapter is a domestic, psychological thriller. A story full of twists and unexpected turns, a storyline that stays with you. A read that has everything I love, mystery and drama, action and suspense.
Emma, Lea, Josh and Harry take the reader on awild ride and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for the chance to read this book for my honest review.
WOW! What a crazy wild ride this was, couldn't put it down and read it in one day. It's written in the past and present which, in my opinion, makes this book so good. Nothing is as it seems and no one is who you think they are. The secrets are what become their undoing and make the twists and turns so unthinkable.
I can't wait to read more from Georgina Lees, she has a new fan.

Nothing is as it seems to be. Right! This talented author has written a cannot put down novel about…well…there are several characters, and we must guess the voice at any given time. That is part of the mystery. Intrigue at its best…this book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. It is a cannot put down story of a wife on the run with a little boy. Murder and mayhem…red herrings are at the base of this novel and play a huge part. Do not try to guess…it won’t work. Thanks to the publisher and author for this copy. Enjoy trying to solve the mystery.
A psychological thriller about a wife on the run with a young boy, having committed a terrible act and believing herself to be hunted for what she has done. There are two narrative threads - the before and the after - keeping the reader on tenterhooks about the reasons for the hurried escape. What is revealed is the story of a husband with secrets and a propensity for control and attempts by his wife to uncover the truth. A very good page turner with a dramatic twist at the end.
With thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review an advance copy.
Thank you One More Chapter and NetGalley for an early copy of The Lost Wife. This was one of the most confusing books I’ve ever read and the abuse of the little boy was mind boggling. To put a young child in the position that she put him in was not for good reading. Took a totally different twist at the end and at about 93% it finally made sense. This book was not one of the best that I have read.
From first page to last, The Lost Wife is a cautionary tale for women not to allow a man to control her life. Lea, the story protagonist, ignored her inner voice and her doubts about Harry, over and over again, but continued the relationship despite her better judgement and warnings from friends. I regret to say, this book simply didn't work for me.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for providing an ARC to read and review. *NetGalley Top Reviewer*
The Lost Wife is an suspenseful read and I was surprised by several of the twists and turns in the book. It was a bit gruesome for my taste but other readers might not mind this. I would also warn there is a scene of animal cruelty/violence. If you enjoy darker mysteries, this is the novel for you. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
Heart pounding thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Definitely one of the best books this year.
Omg! Just WOW! My 3rd Georgina Lees book and I loved it. Expertly woven and the twists just made my jaw drop! Fabulous characters. This book hooked me from the beginning and just never let go. And absolutely did not see that coming’. Don’t miss this one
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book
Mmm mmm this book was a decent read! It had light suspense, intrigue, action, murder, A great who done it and so many crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and flowed nicely! I would recommend reading this book as it was worth reading but it was not one of my top favorites! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
A good novel which I would recommend. I enjoyed the structure of the novel, moving between the past and present building towards a very satisfying ending. I have read all of Georgina Lees novels and have enjoyed them all.
An intriguing gripping story, which kept me riveted. I had to find out what exactly was going on with Megan. It's a great mystery, with lots of drama and murder. I found it very suspenseful not quite knowing who the good/bad guys were.
This is definitely one great read, not to be missed.
Wow this was a fantastic psychological thriller. First book by this author and definitely not my last.
This is told in two parts past and present. The novel starts with a women and a child showing up in Lake District in the middle of the night. It has so many twists and turns. I would definitely recommend this book great thriller with a fantastic ending.
Life will never be the same again. She will never be the same because she never really knew her husband.
Somewhere in the Peak District, are a woman and a child. Being alone, scared, and persecuted. Can they escape the bad guys?
The novel begins with a love story: Harry and Lea are getting married, but things are not as perfect as they appear. Harry is constantly at work and seems to be concealing something, but what? Lea wonders what her life might be like if she had made a different decision.
A gripping domestic psychological thriller that examines all facets of a relationship, from infatuation, jealousy, control, deception, and ambition to parenthood, friendship, and self-questioning whether what we're doing is right. Is it OK to forego our own happiness in order to make someone else happy?
The plot is conveyed beneath a veil of claustrophobia in this somewhat grim novel since everyone is imprisoned in their own private emotional universe. Even a smidgeon of kindness and childlike innocence fails to untie this Gordian knot.
Overall a good read with many twists and turns.
