ARC received for review

Jake and Olivia have been butting heads since book 1. Jake finally stops and realizes what her issue is (and it's one I've never heard of). Add in a gang trying to take out the resort and someone who wants Dr. Knox. I wanted to see more of Jake's kink in action.

Overall I really enjoyed this book! This book represented neurodiversity really well! This book was soo entertaining and not mention how steamy it was too! I loved Olivia so much and I really loved watching her gain more confidence throughout the book! I will say that I was not the biggest fan of Jake. I think his character was just very inconsistent and was so bipolar. I wish that he’d shown more care with his actions especially knowing about Olivia’s neurodiversity. Very few complaints for this book! Such a great read!

Thank you Raisa Greywood and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I think to understand deeper and become comfortable with this book, you have to read the first two books in the series first. I didn't, so it caught me off guard. It was like a direct continuation from the other books, not a standalone, but at the same time it IS a standalone.

To be honest, I both liked and hated this book. There was no building up to Jake's Dom/Master (IDK BDSM much) personality and the book started right off with Jake wanting Olivia as his slave while being mean to her. Aren't we all adults here? Why the childish bully behaviour?

Jake's character was hot and cold, VERY inconsistent. I liked him when he was soft and understanding, but then he just exploded with rage and that was just stupid, even after knowing about Olivia's neurodiversity. It just disappointed me.

I can't say much about neurodiversity representation because I'm not a pro, but I think that issue was well developed in this book. It made me understand a bit more on neurodiversity and autism.

All in all, it was a good book. I loved the grovel but I wish Jake wasn't such a coward with the grovel.

First of all, although this is Book 3 in the Club Apocalypse series, it can be easily read and enjoyed as a standalone. I'd love to go back and read Kendra/Mark's and Carrie/Ryan's stories, but the focus is firmly on Olivia and Jake.

It was clear from the word go that Raisa Greywood is a very experienced writer. She knows how to create memorable, unique characters that go through a lot of growth. I bet Jake McBride's treatment of Olivia at the beginning of the story will make you want to throw a heavy object at him or in the absence of any suitable ammunition, at least use a few choice words to describe this kitchen troll, but very soon you will realise Jake is trying to do his best to help Olivia learn to stand up for herself. He may not believe or trust her (he will explain why later in the book), but he has her best interests at heart. Although later in the book he keeps checking for her consent and her comfort level, I thought he should have done the same with their first interaction, even if it was to stop her from burning herself.

Olivia is also a multi-layered character. There's so much more to her than just her neurodiversity. I adored Raisa Greaywood's descriptions of all the mouth-watering food Olivia creates. It's impossible not to admire Olivia's determination and independence at the end of the book.

There's a great balance of romance and suspense in the plot with the Apocalypse Club being under attack from an unknown enemy. While Jake, who is one of the Horsemen/the owners of this BDSM club, has to fight the threat for his property, he also begins to realise that protecting Olivia's life is becoming much more important to him, despite his unresolved anger and mistrust issues.

It was a quick and entertaining read with some hot and steamy scenes, lots of emotions and a satisfying resolution at the end. Now I can't wait to read Gabby's story, which is coming out in March 2023.

Famine's Feast a steamy romance that kept me entertained and on the edge of my seat till the very end. This book hits on every emotion - anger, hatred, frustration, relief, happiness, love and more.
