Love this series. Katie and her friends are perfectly imperfect - just like all 11 year olds. Looking forward to adding this to our collection and sharing with the students.
Another hilarious and entertaining Katie the Catsitter! The color and graphics are bright and eye catching. The dialog just easily flows along with the graphics of the story. There is a bit more development of the the adult characters included in this book, some more focus on Katie’s mom and a bit of background into Madeline, the infamous Mousetress. The storyline still addresses the conflicts that happen when friendships change, but it also talks about honesty and the strength amongst family and friends. I love that this book subtly includes some life lessons. Katie continues her training as Mousetress’ sidekick and her friend Bethany joins as well, with the hope to eventually be Stainless Steele’s sidekick (who is actually Bethany’s mom). The book even gives you a little insight into the identity of the Eastern Screech, hmmm. This third book in the series is just another great story of Katie the Catsitter and I cannot wait to see what adventures await her and the Mousetress next. And let’s not forget those very talented and adorable cats!
A very cute addition to the Katie the Catsitter series. Katie's super hero training continues to advance as she navigates friendships and keeping secrets from her mom. recommended purchase where the first two titles are popular.
My 12 year old daughter read this books and loved it. She has read the other books in the series. One word she would use to describe the book is unique. I will definitely recommend it to young readers at my library.
My homeschooled group of kiddos age ranges Girl 6 Boy soon to be 9 and my stepson who just turned 9, read this separately. They have the 1st and 2nd of the series and simply adore them. I did not read this, but they did:
My 6-year-old whispered softly as she read this "I love this book" When she was done reading it, I asked her to help me review it...she quickly said, ' It was good" and ran off to play.
My almost 9-year-old son says "It was crazy! There was a cat named Googly, who's description was "being in places he is not supposed to be" He was so funny. The first place he wasn't supposed to be was a shoe, then a bag full of flour. He made me laugh a lot. There was a bunch of robots. They were a bit dumb. It was a great book in the series, and I can't wait for more"
My stepson 9-year-old I thought it as good but said they spoiled a lot of secrets. He also said that the Cheesy Justice is an awesome name for a superhero!
Both of my boys (who read this separately) pointed out a particular seen with a cat with a fire extinguisher and a jet pack..in which they found very hilarious. The parent in me had to remind them that this was just a make-believe story......please don't try this in real life! :-)
Overall my kiddos love this series and cant wait for more!
Another delightful romp in Katie's world, my daughter and I both thoroughly enjoyed this graphic novel.
Thank you to Random House and NetGalley for the ARC!
I love all the superhero and sidekick antics. I especially love the Kitty genius powers. This story had a lot going on and I felt like there were some loose ends-hopefully they will be addressed in the next book. I will definitely be adding to my classroom library.
Katie the Catsitter: Secrets & Sidekicks is the third installment of this fun series. In this book, Katie is learning to be a sidekick while also trying to figure out who is behind the robot attacks on the city. She is also dealing with some friendship struggles. This is a solid third book with more character development and action. I can't wait to see what Katie is going to do next.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Another fun entry in this humorous graphic novel series. I especially love all of the cats and their special talents. But I also enjoy the messages in each of the books. Readers that enjoyed the other books in the series will likely be very enthusiastic about this one! I look forward to more books in the future.
Katie deals with Marie being a better sidekick than her and telling her mother that she is a sidekick. The Mousetress tells Katie some things about her past. The city is sporadically attacked by robots and everyone thinks that the Mousetress is behind the attacks.
