A lighthearted YA romance for the online generation.

Wren loved control, rules and routine. This stems from her mother abandoning her family, leaving Wren, her sister and dad. When Wren is hanging out at her best friend, Kamala’s, place of work she overhears two guys. One is waiting for the girl he met online to show up while his other friend is recording for TikTok, guessing correctly that he’s being catfished. Wren ends up saving the day, pretending to be his date. It’s hard to walk this lie back when Asher is such a golden retriever of a guy. Together they both end up working at the local animal shelter and the longer they spend together, the harder Wren falls, but the truth will always come out.

This was not my favorite of West’s. I’m reading her newest one that releases in 2025 and I already like that one so much better. I hadn’t heard the best reviews for this one and it’s only the first in a duology, I think. I will read the second because I want read Kamala and Dale’s story.
CW: alcohol, parental abandonment
This didn’t really keep my interest. I think it could be good for a quick and sweet romance but it is probably for a younger audience.
Borrow My Heart features a strong, rule-bound protagonist who finds herself swept up in a whirlwind romance, but with a fun twist - a fake dating scenario that's reminiscent of one of my all-time favorite books Happy Place. With its lighthearted, funny, and emotional tone, Borrow My Heart is such a delightful read.
I loved this book!! such a cute YA romance. It hit the spot and I loved their connection so much, so sweet.
Overall an enjoyable and quick read. It was fun and I enjoyed the animals in it. Honestly, any book with cute animals in an automatic winner for me. My main complaint about this and the reason it wasn't a 4 star read for me was the miscommunication at the end.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Another cute Kasie West read - this one had animals, quirky friends, and a main character and love interest that you can root for. The miscommunication trope towards the end was a little off putting, but this was an enjoyable read overall.
Thank you so much to Net galley and the publisher for sending me a copy of this book! I was really looking forward to reading this book because I have read every book by Kasie West and I have loved every single one! I loved this book so much! I thought the setting was fantastic and the characters even better! Are we really surprised though? It is a book by Kasie West!
I love Kasie West and this book does not disappoint. I laughed and cried throughout this book and totally felt for the main character. I loved Bean.
A great read, which I really enjoyed. The story of Wren and Asher. Looking forward to more from this author.
Thank you Netgalley and Delacorte Press for a copy of this book in an exchange for an honest review.
When Wren overhears a guy Asher being made fun of by his best friend because he got catfish wren decides to save the day and pretend it was her that was meeting Asher at the coffee shop.

Borrow My Heart by Kasie West is a delightful exploration of love, spontaneity, and the unexpected twists that can unravel even the most meticulously planned lives. With a perfect blend of humor and heart, this novel is a must-read for fans of romantic comedies and those who appreciate the beauty of bending the rules for the right reasons.
Borrow My Heart By Kasie West. I love Kasie West books! The characters are likable and fun. The story line is relevant. Always a great read and Borrow My Heart is just as awesome! Wren likes to keep everything in order. She is a rule follower and a list maker. So when Archer walks into her coffee shop and she discovers he's being cat fished it's so not like Wren to step in, but that is exactly what she does. Suddenly Wren and Archer are hanging out and Wren it really stepping beyond her comfort zone. The one rule that Wren does break might be a deal breaker with Asher. Read Borrow My Heart and find out exactly what happens for yourself. Happy Reading!
This one is fine. Students who like Kasie West romances will eat this one up--good for MSers and HSers alike. The premise was a bit shaky, and then the conflicts were fairly contrived, and the ending was a little too pat for me. But there were dogs, so that made it slightly better.
This book is extremely cute. The romance was so fun to read! I really loved the artistic style of the cover too! I will definitely be keeping my eye on this author!
I'm already a Kasie West fan, and I feel like this book is right up there with her greatest hits. She does such a great job writing a cozy, cuddly, feel good cute YA novel, while also taking a look at topics that might be a little tricky.
I love Kasie West, but to be honest this was my least favorite of her books. I do think the writing and cover were still great. It wasn’t a setting I’d read any other books taking place in, but the story still fell flat for me.
Kasie West is a go-to author in my 8th grade classroom, and Borrow My Heart will also be a book that gets a lot of traffic! So much drama happens when we deceive, and protagonist Wren finds this out firsthand while fake-dating a boy she meets in her coffee shop. Verdict = cute but not my favorite. Thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to preview #BorrowMyHeart by Kasie West - my students and I are already looking forward to her next release!
Borrow My Heart is so cute. Wren overhears Asher being stood up by an apparent catfish and jumps in to save the day. She pretends to be his online fling, and swears it is going to be a one time thing. She never expects to see him again or to fall for him in the process, but what will happen when she comes clean?
Also at the heart of this story is a shelter dog named Bean. He's been in the shelter forever, and Asher and Wren work together to get him adopted. I love Bean. He adds so much heart and personality to the story, and is just the best lovable unloveable dog.
Kasie West is gifted at writing relatable, adorable characters and sitting comfortably in the genre of light, YA romance. She peppers in real heart and real issues that young adults are facing to give the story gravity and believability, but it stays feathery and easy to read.
A sweet rom com that I can absolutely see my students devouring. I have yet to read a Kasie West book that I didn't enjoy and this is no exception. A delightful read all around!
