When I requested this book, I was not aware that it was written for elementary/middle school readers. It's a quick read, one that will probably keep those young readers engaged. Full of photographs, very easy to read. I did a search of the author, and found that she has written a multitude of other books for young readers, so they must be well received.
"Wildfire, Inside the Inferno" will be a great new non-fiction library addition for upper elementary and middle school classrooms. Everything from illustrations to informational layout is ideal for students who are not only just learning about wildfires but also want to dive deeper into risks, benefits, and costs.
This book is fantastic. The photography is amazing and I love the format of the book. I’ll use it in my classroom as a mentor text for cause and effect. It is very informative and the many text features will appeal to my middle schoolers who will enjoy the way it breaks up the text.
