I didn’t really love the essays and they fell a bit flat for me. I liked the book recommendations I walked away with.
This book has helped alot with finding ways to be able to get my kids into reading and actually enjoying. Sometimes it feels like forcing them to read and they aren't liking. So this was a good read and has helped.
I was hoping to review this for Shelf Awareness, but I've run out of time. I've read just a bit of it, and enjoyed it so far; I will eventually have to read it for my own interest. I heartily endorse family readalouds, so it's exciting to see a book like this!
I am devouring this book. Lambert's perspectives on reading as a key way of bonding between caregivers and children speaks directly to my heart and my entire professional mission. I will absolutely be purchasing this and keeping it handy for regular guidance and reference throughout my work as a bibliotherapist and educator.
