⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5/5 (3⭐️ on GR)
Thoughts: 💭

I gave this one 3.5⭐️ because it was a tad bit slower and I struggled to enjoy the FMC. BUT, like DYTHM, this book was decent.

I haven’t read many books where book 2 does not necessarily start where book 1 ends. These kind of ran parallel in a way… It was enjoyable seeing a few overlapping funny scenes from the first book that made an appearance in book 2 that give you a little more background on how they came about.

Second, the MMC, Daniel just gives me so many golden retriever vibes and I’m here for it.

Beg You to Trust Me is the second book of the Lindon U series. Its a solid sports romance that is very engaging with enjoyable, relatable characters and a well written story. I found this book better than book one in the series I Dare you to Hate Me. If this trend continues I can't wait for book three! Would highly recommend.

4.5⭐️

I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved Danny in Dare You To Hate Me, and I'm so happy I got to read his and Skylar's story. I really felt for Skylar but I was happy with her stroy. If you loved Lindon U #1, then you're going to love this book. I just need Lindon U #3 now!!

I really enjoyed this one much more than the first! The storv line and character development for Skylar was superb. She went through some tough times at Lindon between friends and an extremely terrible incident at a party, but it was incredible watching her progress to learn to trust friends, her family and DJ. Reading about DJ this time was just chef's kiss. I really loved his character in the first book, but the second made me love him that much more with how gentle and caring he was with Sky, even though the boy could say some dumb things sometimes! This is definitely a must read!

Thank you for the opportunity to review!

WOW. These are some potentially triggering subjects and the way B. Celeste writes about them is thoughtful, real and (I can't really explain this one) respectful? This was a difficult read from an emotional perspective, but so very beautiful. The epilogue summed things up nicely, but left a few gaps that I think are realistic and add to the overall feeling of the story.

Would recommend, with trigger warnings.

I really enjoy B Celeste's writing so was excited to see this. I did see it seems to be a re-release as it is an older title but I was still excited to read this. I hadn't read the first in this series of standalones but I was still able to enjoy. I like a friends to lovers and a story set in a college town. There were some triggers so be sure to look at the trigger warnings before diving in!

Thank you to Bloom books, NetGalley, and B. Celeste for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I absolutely loved this book. First, just as the first book in this series did, Beg You To Trust Me covers very heavy topics. There were moments that it was hard to read, frustrating even, and heartbreaking. Skyler experiences tremendous character growth throughout this book. The Sky from chapter one is not the same as the Sky from the epilogue. I loved watching her grow, seeing how she dealt with her assault, and loving her character throughout it all. I absolutely love DJ. He was a star of this book through and through. I also liked that the timeline runs perpendicular to Dare You To Hate Me, so we can see some key points from that book in DJ’s POV. This book did not end with all things tied up in a bow and handled, which I honestly found to be (unfortunately) very realistic for the topics being dealt with. Many times women who are sexually assaulted by athletes (really anyone) do not get the help they need, do not see their assaulter punished, and still have to find a way to heal. B. Celeste created a guy-wrenching, beautiful story about pain, grief, healing, friendship, and love. Olive’s character was a new introduction and I’m obsessed with her spunk; I can’t wait to read her book and see what happens next. Finally, I can’t believe B. Celeste left us with that cliffhanger at the end of the epilogue, but I for one am HEARTBROKEN about it and I have no idea how I am supposed to survive while waiting for more information. I can’t wait to continue on in the Lindon U series!

Wow, I honestly don't know where to start to express my feelings toward this book. Seems fitting to start in an unconventional place and that's the acknowledgments. It's usually something I rarely read but this one caught my eye. The author thanks her real life "Olive" who's the best friend of the main female character named Skylar. She thanks her because Beg You To Trust Me is based on the author's experience in college and how much her Olive saved her. The fact that this book with the hard topics it touches is based on a real-life story makes it hit on another level once you read it. I truly think this book could help others not feel alone during those tough times we as women tend to face. Danny was the perfect representation of the kind of partner women deserve who's understanding, patient, and supportive. He fights hard to gain Skylar's trust and it's nothing short of beautiful. I hope B.Celeste found her own Danny in real life.

2.5/5 Spice Level

TWs: Body Shaming, Bullying, Toxic Relationship, Sexual Harassment and Assult. I was given an ARC of this book but thoughts are all my own.

Another good read from the Linden U series that can be read as a stand alone. Although I liked the first in this series a bit more, this one is still worth the read. Some lines in the dialogue were a little corny to me and the intimacy parts were worded almost exactly like the first book but I still couldn't exactly put this down. I liked how this showed in a real world way sexual offenses against women and each different way people see and react to it. That in itself was spot on with reality, compensating and more for the lines I rolled my eyes at. The male protagonist was so likeable, patient and understanding. There's something addicting about this series and I'm hoping for more. Three and a half stars.

Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Bloom Books for this ARC.

Oh my days! This was one angsty and heartwrenching read - but I loved Skylar and Danny. I enjoyed the mix of humour in to the storyline too which balanced out the parts that were more emotional. Told in dual POV, this friends to lovers romance is quite possibly one of my favourite B Celeste books to date.

WE LOVE TO SEE PERSONAL EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT!!

Gosh this book was so good. The development, the feelings, the stress, the empathy. It was so real but so well done. It's a story surrounding something most women fear the most. We are taught to watch our drink and be super careful since a young age. Why can't we ever be the ones to let loose and have fun?
But most of all I loved to see such realistic characters work through these real life problems together. They didn't have a completely perfect flirting/early relationship phase that had a big misunderstanding lead to a breakup like most romance. Don't get me wrong, I love those too. But this gave me hope for real life. It showed that relationships aren't easy. They come with trauma and personal baggage. Shit comes at you sideways and you don't always know how to deal with it. However, it's possible to work together and try to get through it.

Also seeing the familial relationships made me hecking cry. I love when family shows up and supports like that. It started with Sky's family seeming like rich assholes with their noses in the air. But by the end it show that that shit doesn't matter. Family is what's important.

And don't get me started on Danny boy and his ma and grandma's relationship!! And the fucking hair braiding!! CONFIDENT MASCULINITY!!! Bravo Danny boy!! You've got the perfect image of a bad boy jock who really just wants to be with this girl. It's not that he changes for her. That's unrealistic. But his desires and what he wishes to fill his time with shifts, to include her and making her smile. It always feels good to make someone smile.

I could go on in great detail about this book but just 5 stars!

Beg You to Trust Me was the first book I had read by B. Celeste. I had heard about the author before and the book she had previously written, but had never gotten around to read it myself. I went into this book not expecting much and left it be wholly surprised and captivated by the world and characters. I absolutely adored Danny. While I did like Skylars character, I felt myself not being as attached to her character as much as I did with Danny’s. Though, that isn’t because she was a bad character.

I really liked the development each character went through and the situations they experienced that felt so real. While some were corny, I was amazed by how everything was just so real. And, I think for the most part, the pacing of the book was spectacular. I did find myself getting bored during filler chapters and would have to take a break, but then I’d be right back into it a couple of hours later.

I’m excited to dive into Aiden and Ivy’s book and to read and learn more about these characters and their world!!

3.5 stars for me. I liked this a bit more than the first story in this series, and the slow burn friends to lovers was done well.

I unfortunately found thsi one to be a little slow. Although did not finish it I found Skylar annoying and do not understand what Danny saw in her. Maybe others will think differently.
Thanks to NetGalley in return for an honest review.

B. Celeste knocked another one out of the park! This is my 3rd book by this author and I just keep enjoying her stories more and more! I wasn't sure how Ivy and Aidens story could be topped or matched at least but Skylar and Danny are brilliant! Their friendship and support for each other is heartwarming and I loved how he treated her. Another 5 star from me! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is the 2nd book of Lindon U series, it can be read as stand alone. I curious about DJ story. They appear a little in previous book, the cute blonde DJ completely obsessed. I cry for what happend to Skylar, her first time went really bad and Whatever is happening isn’t a nightmare at all. It’s real for her. I love how DJ patient and supportive, push her to get help, to speak up, he win her. Now, i curious about caleb story! Omg!

Thank you to NetGalley for provide this book, it is pleasure to review this book.

Such a sweet book that tells a great story. It does a few parts that may be triggering to some readers so I would encourage a check of the trigger warnings before reading. However the story is very well done and the main characters are perfectly balanced with each other.
