I absolutely love when a book is so immersive that it makes the world around me fade away, and this one did just that from beginning to end. The story revolves around Eden, a dedicated member of the House of David, an organization on a quest to find ancient artifacts imbued with mystical powers. When Eden is dispatched on a crucial mission to recover the lost Chains of Peter, he unexpectedly encounters his half-brother, Orion. Recognizing Orion's potential, Eden quickly brings him into the fold.
Together, they face off against the malevolent group known as Seditio, which is also racing to find the artifacts. As Eden and Orion work to retrieve these powerful relics, Eden begins to grapple with doubts about the true intentions of the House of David and his own allegiance to it. He starts to wonder if enlisting his brother was a mistake, especially as the mission's complexities and moral ambiguities come to light.
The plot is a thrilling rollercoaster—fast-paced, intense, and occasionally dark and unsettling. Yet, despite the tension and the chilling moments, it was incredibly gripping and well-crafted. I was completely absorbed and eagerly anticipating each new twist. I can't wait to dive into the next book and continue the adventure.
Thank you Netgalley, and Quentin Petty for the ARC of this book
True Winter" is a unique tale of relationships in a world where chaos and order are in constant battle. The book is filled with gruesome action that will keep readers on the edge of their seats, but it's the unexpected twists and turns that make this story truly unforgettable. Petty's masterful character development adds another layer of intrigue to the already gripping plot, making readers care about the fate of the characters.
Excited for what is to come in the next book.

True Winter is book 1 in the series/seasons, and I cannot wait to see what is next to come of this world and characters. The characters have such amazing building in this first installment I am really hoping to read where the adventures take them and how they could grow more. The story line is world shattering. A group called the House of David hunts down biblical artifacts that can ultimately wreak havoc if they lead in the wrong hands. This story is dark, filled with violence and will grab your attention till the very last sentence where you are left hanging on that cliff.
Thank you NetGalley and Quentin Petty for the eARC.
The writer did a wonderful job of telling this story. I’m not usually a fantasy reader, but the excellent way in which this story was told had me flipping the pages until the morning hour. The writer words pulls into the background story of out lead characters. The entertainment was great read.
Wow! This was a very intense read! One of the best books i have read in a long time. Eden and Orion are opposite in almost every way at the beginning and the end. This book will keep you going all the way through wondering what the next surprises are going to be. I totally was not expecting the end.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Really good read and strong start to what looks to be a promising series.
I’ll definitely be looking forward to the next book in the series.
A fantastic tale of warriors who hunt down sacred relics of saints- these relics can cause great harm in the wrong hands. A new recruit is added to the team. Perfect for Dan Brown fans.
Let’s just say, Cannot wait for the next book!
I enjoyed the plot, characters, and world building .
