This was a sweet and closed door read. I love Wes and Cam's friendship and was glad to see Wes and Lo again!
I had a harder time connecting with Ellie though. I feel the story could have been tied up a lot sooner and that her reason for not being fully in with Cam just wasn't strong enough. Ellie's parents treated her awful, especially her mom, and everyone just let it happen. I didn't feel that it was resolved in the end and it was just brushed under the rug.
I still enjoyed a lot of the story, though I felt there was so much repetitiveness in it.
I give it a solid 3 stars and I'm hoping the next book is about Ellie's brother Alex (he might have been my favorite character!)
Thank you Netgalley and Xpresso Book Tours for the ARC. I loved this book! It was a bit of a slow burn and it’s closed door but Ellie and Cam are really cute together. One of my favourite things in contemporary romance is when one of them is sick and the other shows up to take care of them and that was done really well in this book.
I could so relate the Ellie’s struggles with her parents. I’ve given so much of myself trying to win my parents approval so I found myself tearing up for Ellie as she was trying to do the same with hers.
It’s a cute, quick contemporary romance book with lots of fall vibes. Definitely recommend!
4.5 stars
This is the first book that I have read by Madison Wright and yet I really enjoyed it! But I still need to read the first book, which is next on my list. Just Between Us is the second book In Madison Wright’s Just Us series.
Ellie was a work in progress but I still enjoyed reading about her. She was trying so hard to please her parents and make them proud of her, but she was losing herself along the way. I liked seeing Ellie’s growth in the book and watching her falling for Cam. Ellie was sweet but she had to learn to live her own life. Ellie had to learn to fight for what she wanted and what she believed in. Ellie had to decide if Cam was worth the effort or if she wanted to stay in the easy zone forever.
Cam was also a wonderful character! I liked him from the beginning and it was fun to learn more about him. He was burnt out from work and searching for a break, but he never expected to fall in love or feel settled in Nashville. Cam was just so sweet and it was cute to read about him falling for Ellie. Cam had to learn to hope for the best. He had to decide if he was willing to take the leap with Ellie.
I was drawn to the characters from the beginning and the story was really compelling. I love Cam and Ellie’s relationship. There were times when I was frustrated with Ellie but things worked out in the end so I was happy. :) Ellie and Cam had to figure out how they were going to make their relationship work, but how to still reach for the stars. The side characters were so funny and really added to the story. I also adored the relationship between Ellie and her brothers, it was so sweet.
Just Between Us was a great book! I am so excited to see what Wright writes next! Just Between Us is a closed door contemporary romance.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.
This was super cute and cozy. Perfect for a quick read by the fire and curled up under a blanket. While I didn’t care much for Ellie, Cam is book boyfriend goals.
CW: Familial abuse.
This was an easy quick read about found family, and a cozy love story. Ellie is very unsure about herself and where she stays in her family. Cam is feeling a little lost in his life right now when his friend Wes offers him a temporary job across the country. The moment he steps in Nashville he just feels right.
Throughout the story we see a cozy love story brew between Cam and Ellie however I feel like it so much back and forth. There could be so much more done with this book. It just got kind of repetitive.
Thanks to Net Galley for the ARC as always, all words are my own.

i loved “just go with it” and got an ARC for this, so i knew i had to continue the series! i was still on a book high from the ending of the first book for the first 30% of this book, so it went by a little slow for me. however, once i got to about 40% it sped up a lot and i really enjoyed it! all my favorite books have been books that started slow and i considered DNFing, but still became a favorite!
i loved how this was a forbidden romance, which i don’t read very often(except for twisted games ofc!). i appreciated how, compared to other forbidden romances, the whole forbidden aspect was pretty innocent and not super high stakes. i loved seeing how, despite having to hide it from everyone, cam and ellie did not hold back on their feelings for each other. i expected them to dance around their feelings, but was pleasantly surprised when this did not happen. i loved cam and ellie individually so much, and also loved them together. the fall vibes were also perfection, and if you want a good fall read, i highly recommend! i really loved how much i related to ellie with her need for external validation, and it didn’t seem to be added as an extra plot point. throughout the book, i could see how she carried that with her, and it added an extra complexity to her character.
okay, now onto the things i wasn’t a huge fan of. with all the buildup with ellie worrying about her parents reaction to her relationship with cam, i thought their response was pretty anti climatic and wish it was a tad bit more dramatic. the book was also missing that aspect that makes a book a five star read, but i am very selective when giving a book five stars. i love how cam and ellie didn’t go in circles with their feelings and relationship status, but it was just missing something extra to make it super unforgettable and a five star read.
overall, i cannot pick between this book and just go with it, i loved them both so much! if you want a quick, clean read, this series is definitely the way to go! i don’t know if any plans for future books in the series are in the works, but i’d love to see books about some of the other characters!
What a cute, clean, fast read! I loved Cam/Sam/Dave/Daisy/Ellis so much! What a fun ride this was.
The only criticism I would give is that I was legit over Ellie not just communicating with the people in her life. I get that those errors in communication make a story, but I was over it about 60% in.
Thank you to the author for the advance ebook. I requested it because the cover was adorable and the description was fitting.
Overall, a success!
Thanks to the author and Netgalley for an ARC of this book - I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I am not usually a fan of clean romance, preferring the steamier stuff if not reading classics, so I wasn't sure how much I would like this book when I started it. But once I stopped, I couldn't stop, and I read it in one sitting.
I loved the seasonal vibe - there's plenty of colours, scents and food descriptions that evoke the feeling of Autumn. The love story is very sweet and there is plenty of chemistry between the two characters.
While I probably wouldn't reach for another 'clean romance' (I couldn't help but feel the lack, even though the romance is well-written), I totally get why this book would be popular read.

More guys like Camden please 🥹🥰
Thank you so so much to Madison and netgalley for my ARC of JUST BETWEEN US! It publishes next Friday, November 18!
I LOVED this book and getting to know Camden and Ellie!
Y’all this is the perfect, cozy fall book. It’s got hot tea, cuddles on the couch, HOMEMADE SOUP, kisses under the stars, and vintage cameras and lots of cute fall outfits, and a fall festival to top it off!
I could not get enough of this book, and I basically read it all on one day, because I had to know what was going to happen! This is a forbidden love story, and while I don’t read very many of these, I really don’t know why, because I actually love them! There is just something about doing something a little risky, something you know you aren’t supposed 59 but can’t help yourself, that is so addicting to read about. You HAVE to keep reading to find out if they will get caught (because they will), but also secretly hoping for their HEA. 🥰 Madison executed this perfectly!
While they both have their own baggage to work through, it’s evident that these two are perfect for each other, and you can’t help but root for them. I especially liked how Ellie was able to stand up to her parents - that takes alot of guts and bravery, but she knew it was something that had to be done for the sake of her own happiness. Camden is just… perfect. I loved how much he loved photography, and wanted to branch out into something different, as his old job wasn’t giving him the happiness he realized he was missing.

If you want the perfect fall cozy read, this is it! I highly recommend it, and also reading Madison’s first book in this series, Just Go With It! They are standalone books within the series!
Ellie Bates spends the most romantic night dancing and kissing a man she just met. This man ends up being Camden Lane, a new resident at the complex she manages. While she is thrilled to see him again, she is quickly reminded of the contentious relationship she has with her parents who are the building owners.
While most would think working for their parents would make life easier, Ellie is subject to strict rules that are meant to keep her from fraternizing with the residents. Not to mention the fact that Camden is only in town temporarily, placing an expiration date on their potential relationship.
As with anything you are told you can’t have, Ellie and Cam continue to be drawn to one another. How much of your life would you really be willing to sacrifice in order to be with someone you only recently met? You’ll just have to read and find out!
Review Insight: Greater character development would have made this an easy home run for me! While a compelling read, Ellie and Cam were both very one dimensional. A stronger level of communication between the two would have added a deeper layer of understanding as the story developed. Constructive feedback aside, the author displays a truly promising literary future.
Thank you to Madison Wright and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This one is far to insta-love with basically zero leading up to Ellie and Cam wanting to be together. There needed to be way more from the night they might. The book also seemed to be very repetitive. Ellie is constantly worried about her parents approval without much background or expansion on that which got annoying after the millionth time it’s mentioned. Overall, it was a quick read but not enough depth to care much about the characters.
This was a really sweet story. Not only did it give us a really lovely love story, but it featured MCs who were forced to be introspective and work on themselves throughout the course of the book. Ellie was incredibly relatable, and I just felt for her the whole book.
Camden was so sweet, but I felt like we were missing parts of his backstory, but I haven’t read the first book in the series, so I don’t know if he was introduced there, and maybe that’s what I’m missing.
Generally though, I really enjoyed this book. The story was sweet, the characters were relatable, and it packed an emotional punch that kept me turning the page.
I was given an ARC by NetGalley and XPresso book tours. All opinions are my own.
This was the coziest book! It had the cutest characters, setting, and was just the best read. It was so special. I can’t wait to read what’s next from the author. So happy I was able to receive this ARC from NetGalley. I loved this!!
Cam and Ellie’s eyes meet at Nashville bar and instantly feel a pull to each other. Cam is only in the area for a couple of months, staying in housing that Ellie manages. Company bylaws forbid dating tenants but their attraction to each other is hard to deny. The way Cam cares for Ellie is adorable. This book was a sweet, warm feel-good read. Just the right thing for a chilly, autumn day. 3.5 Stars.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and Madison Wright for this ARC
A workplace-adjacent romance perfect for the transition between fall and winter - Just Between Us brings the sweetness. It is closed door, just worth noting for some of y'all smut monkeys, but is still a really enjoyable read nonetheless. Plus as a Tennessean, I loved reading an indie book set in Nashville! This book is tea with honey, striped sweaters and crunchy leaves, and inside jokes about armadillos. Just an absolute delight.

Arc from netgalley
DNF at 30%. I felt for the female main character from the beginning but I wanted more back story about why her parents hated her so much. Also I think I read about flamed cheeks or flushing cheeks more than I care to admit. A different phrase would do some good. I just couldn’t connect with the male main character.
I loveeeeee this book. This book is like a comfy sweater and fuzzy socks all cozied up on the couch- you just never want to leave it. It’s well written in a way that makes you feel everything. I could feel their struggles, their heartache and their desire to make it work. I loved the setting and the vibes it gives off- It helps that its based in Nashville which is only a few hours from where I am. I’m also a photographer so I could really relate to Cam’s struggle with letting go of what’s making the most money and do what makes him happiest with his photography. I adored their store and the witty banter back and forth. Madison did a wonderful job making you be able to feel like you stepped into a TN fall day. I loved seeing Ellie’s growth and finding her voice.
This book comes out November 18th! I would definitely recommend this one for a quick Thanksgiving day read that will give you all the cozy thankful feels.

Thank you to the Publisher, author, and NetGalley for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review! A great fall ish rom com! It was my favorite but it was a solid read! For anyone that is looking for a quick solid read I would definitely recommend this book!
This was sweet. Like marshmallow sweet.
Ellie and Cam meet while out dancing one night. The next day Ellie discovers that she is the manager of the apartment he is renting and he is off limits due to her parents rule of not getting close to the residents.
The book flowed well and I enjoyed the build up of the relationship between Ellie and Cam. The book was a cute, wholesome, quick read.
My one grip? there is absolutely no spice. Like none. NONE. Like not even an illusion to any. I feel like if I had even gotten like a fade to black scene, I would have enjoyed this just a bit more. But that's just me.
I give it 3 stars.
thank you to NetGalley for the Arc, all opinions are my own.
The perfect fall read, adorable and cozy, something everyone should read.
This book was amazing. I had a smile plastered on my face from start to finish because of how much I loved it. Cam is amazing and like the sweetest guy ever (I need someone like him ASAP). He had me swooning the whole time.
I think this is a MUST fall read, it has everything you’re looking for in a fall read. Coziness, a swoon worthy romance, forced proximity, a cinnamon roll MMC and so much more.
