With a cute & cozy vibe, Just Between Us is a perfect read for those chilly autumn evenings when you need a little extra comfort.
Cam + Ellie fit together so well and I couldn't help but root for them. Unfortunately, I wasn't quite as excited about some of the other elements of the book. For example, I'm not certain it was necessary for her parents to suck quite so much and their interactions kind of took me out of the fun, happy mood set by the romance itself. If not for her relationship with her parents being the main source of conflict in the book, I think it may have ended up being a 5☆ read. Regardless, I did still really enjoy this one!
Read Just Between Us for:
🍂 found family
🍂 the caretaking while sick trope
🍂 small town vines (despite it being nashville)
🍂 a clean romance with zero sex scenes

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
this book was so soft and comforting 😭 ellie & cam’s story is what I want in life. A person to feel safe and at home with 🥺
This was a nice read.
The level of drama wasn’t too much to make it depressing, but just enough for a little conflict. That Thanksgiving dinner…ugh!
'Just Between Us' is a great book for this time of year. It gives us the fun of Halloween, family time of Thanksgiving, and the joy of the holidays in December. Ellie meets Cam when she is out one night, and they immediately have a connection. They spend the night dancing, and the sparks are flying! Ellie can't believe it when Cam shows up at her workplace the next day. She is happy to see him, but she's also worried when she finds out that he lives in her building. Ellie runs the building, and her parents are the owners of the complex. Her parents don't allow Ellie, as an employee, to spend time with the residents in the building. Because of this, Ellie has to reject Cam, and she also has to stop spending time with her other friends in the building.
Ellie wants to please her parents, but she also wants to continue to have fun with her friends and start something with Cam. Cam can't understand why Ellie rejects him, but he can't get her out of his head.
This is a really wholesome story, and it is so sweet how Ellie and Cam connect with each other. I loved their dynamic. I would have given it a higher rating, but I felt like there was such a lack of communication between the two of them. I wish that they had talked with each other more. Also, I wanted there to be more of a physical connection between the characters.
Thanks to NetGalley and Xpresso Tours for an ARC of this book.
They just keep getting better! I loved this book. The first book in the series was great and this book was even better.
I love the location and the cozy fall transitioning into winter vibes. Perfect book for the month of November!
Both main characters were likable and had good stories and growth.
I love the description of all of Ellie’s fun outfits. Ellie and Cam had the sweetest dates and little inside jokes and moments.
The side characters were pretty good too! I love Ethel. And I’m curious which couple will be featured in the next book of the series. Hazel? Or Sadie? Maybe Alex?! I’d be into any of those stories!
I loved the way they met and how their relationship progressed.
The story of Ellie and Cam was a super cute, wholesome one. Ellie, the apartment manager, and Cam, a resident, are helplessly drawn towards one another. Too bad there is a rule where Ellie cannot have anything to do with her residents, and her parents are threatening to fire her if she makes one more mistake.
I really enjoyed this book. I read it in one sitting. It flowed well. Ellie and Cam had really great chemistry together, and I enjoyed being in their heads for this dual POV. Ellie's parents sucked. Big time. But the mom sucked the most. They were most infuriating. I loved her brothers. The most enjoyable parts of the book were with scenes with them. The conflict was a little rushed in my opinion, but the ending was quite lovely. It would have been cool to see the change in relationship with her parents or her parents' interaction with Cam towards the end. But overall, this was a really pleasant read. If you like insta-attraction but also angst, clean romcoms, and funny dialogue with a unique story, this one is for you!
Perfect book to read during the holidays! It gave me all the right feels! The authors writing style flowed very well. Ones of the best books I’ve read in a while!
I really loved the story and read this book in one sitting!
The author's writing style was easy to read and the book made me laugh a lot. The storyline went further then a romance plot, it was about finding your own path, no matter what anyone else thinks or says.
They were really nice characters and I was completely invested in the story. When I finished the book I immediately went to look if the author has any more books. I can't wait to read more from Madison Wright!
Personal rating: 4,5⭐️
Thank you for sending me the ARC of this book.
Just Between Us is a very sweet love story between Camden and Ellie. It gave me all the feels, aches, butterflies! I was rooting for Cam and Ellie all throughout. This is a delightful holiday story, perfect for fall/winter!
I have to say that I liked this one better than the first book. I think that the writing was better, and there was more angst in this one.
Thank you to the author for the ARC via Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
I was given an ARC by Netgalley & Xpresso book tours in exchange for an honest review! These thoughts are my own opinion! I really enjoyed this! This was a cute fall read!
Ellie Bates is in hot water when her parents tell her she is on her last strike as property manager of their apartment building they run. Ellie has to tread lightly but that’s hard when Camden moves into the building. Dating residents is off limits but Ellie can’t help catching feelings for him. Is it worth loosing her job for him?
I really enjoyed the chemistry between Ellie and Camden! I like the cute nicknames they have for each other even if I thought they were two different characters at first. I like the relationship Ellie has with each of the residents in the building. I liked Ellie’s character but I felt really bad for her. I can’t imagine having my parents as my boss that just wouldn’t work for me. I really enjoyed the ending! Left me wanting more. I loved the setting of Nashville!
Be sure to pick this up on Nov 18,23.
FIVE STARS FROM ME!
I LOVEDDDD THIS BOOK! Cam and Ellie have now become one of my favorite couples! This book has tropes of forbidden love, and boy falls first, both of which I love. I love that this book covers topics of parental expectations and wanting to make you parents proud, while fulfilling yourself.. This book has now hit my 5 star list and I can’t wait to see what else Madison Wright has in store!
2.5 Stars Just Between Us by Madison Wright is a sweet, forbidden-love romance. After a romantic night dancing and kissing a man she just met, property manager Ellie Bates is horrified to learn that the stranger is her new resident, Camden Lane. At first, Ellie was elated to see Cam again, but then remembered that her parents, who are also her bosses, told her that she’s on her last strike. Any more professional indiscretions, such as fraternizing with residents in any way, and she’ll be fired. Ellie feels pulled in both directions, by her attraction to Cam and her need to please her parents.
This was a cute book and Ellie and Cam made an adorable couple once they were finally together. I was frustrated by both Ellie’s and Cam’s inability to properly communicate with each other, especially about their feelings and what they wanted from each other.
