On her last strike, Ellie Bates is doing her best to not screw up while working as manager for the apartments her parents own, or else she's out on her ass. Things are going great until Camden Lane moves into the complex and makes the 'no dating residents' rule nearly impossible to keep.
Just Between Us was a sweet and light slow burn romance, but I struggled a little bit with the story line. Ellie's constant need for her parents approval and their treatment of her (especially her mom) was awful, and I felt like there wasn't really any resolution to that at all. Plus as adorable as Cam and her were together, they had the worst communication and their constant back and forth about being together was a bit drawn out and repetitive.
Other than that it was cute, cozy, and gave off all the fall vibes!
This book is so good. I loved everythings about this. Cant wait for future books! the chemistry, the love, so so good
I loved this story. The connection between Cam and Ellie was electric and almost tangible, especially in their first meeting and it really sucks you in. I didn’t realize this was a second character book in a series, but I didn’t feel at all like I was out of the loop having not read the first book. Though of course I’d know what happened now if I tried to go back to it. Anyway, this book was really well written with interesting characters and a plot line to tug at your heart. I really really enjoyed the story line between Ellie and her parents, because it felt so real and true to the messiest of family relationships. I love her brothers and would love to see more for them. I love that Cam’s family got to be tied in as well, and what a lovely group they are. I just thought this was a sweet, sincere, and heartfelt story. It was such an easy read, took me a day because I could not put it down. Cam is such a sweetheart and I just loved him and how he treated Ellie, what a gentleman.
Such a cute read! Cam is absolutely perfect and so sweet to Ellie. I love how much he cares for her immediately. I will say, I especially loved the character growth from Ellie. I loved how she (slowly but surely) realizes she should put her self first.
“He was supposed to be quick and simple, a piece for of myself I broke off and gave to a stranger without expecting anything in return. But from that first night, he’s just given me back everything I need and more”
This book is the perfect fall/ cozy read and it takes place in Nashville which is one of my all time favorite places!
Thank you NetGalley and Madison Wright to give me this ARC, I leave my honest review here!
I love this book so much! It has insta-love, which I don't really like usually but not for this book.
Ellie and Cam is such a sweet couple! I can't get enough of these two. From the beginning of their relationship, they know that it will be hard. Ellie has to follow this kind of rules from her parents not to have a close relationship with the resident she work with. And Cam is her resident. If she is not following this rules, she need to quit this job, but Ellie loves this job so much and also all of her residents.
It's been hard at the beginning, because they constantly want each other but also know they can't be together. But Cam is a such a great man! I love how he always care for Ellie despite Ellie try to distance both of them, how Cam want to give their relationship a try, want to fight for this relationship with Ellie and know for sure what he wants.
Usually, this kind of back and forth really kills me but not this book. I love every doubt, their constantly thought about how to be together. I can't blame Ellie with her hesitant towards Cam, she has something she needs to keep. And I can't hate Ellie because of her attitude, I want to hate her parents actually especially her Mom, I know Ellie just want to be a proud child for her parents, I'm glad for everything turn out for Ellie at the end.
Don't ask me about their relationship. One of the best! It romantic, beautiful, sweet and everything you want in relationship! I love how this book make me smile constantly trough out the book. Highly recommend!
I loved this cute little romance. The two main leads were well written. It was refreshing to read their story and how they're two people trying to make their separate lives work in unison. I related a lot to Ellie in her parent dynamics and love how much her brothers care for her. Cam is such a sweetheart. Honestly 100% boyfriend material. I love how they communicated and didn't force their own whims on the other.
Ellie is the cutest, sweetest bean and I wish her the world. She really goes above and beyond for those around her and cares deeply for them all. Cam is an amazing and caring photographer.
This book is 10/10!
unfortunately this was a DNF from me.. I got 50% done and just couldn't struggle through the rest. I didn't feel the connection and I didn't think it was well developed. I wanted to like it, but not feeling it.
Thank you to Madison Wright for this ARC via Netgalley.
Just Between Us is such a sweet romance comedy with enough angst to keep you hoping for that HEA.
I loved Ellie and Camden's relationship and I really like the side characters, especially Alex - he needs his own story!
This was a beautiful and very emotional read. I found myself tearing up quite a few times but the story was also full of laughter, swoony moments under a starlit sky, shared bowls of soup and cups of tea - with extra honey! - and all the fall vibes you could ask for.
I couldn't help thinking how difficult being a parent can sometimes be, even if your child is a grown-up, since Ellie's parents were constantly putting her down even though all she had ever wanted was to make them proud. And they should have been! A chance encounter with Camden, who is new in town, brings some happiness into Ellie's life but because of her parents and their rules she tries to stop seeing him. What Camden sees is a bright and shining person who is full of life and all the colors of the rainbow. But it's up to Ellie to start really believing that if she wants to step out of her parents' shadow.

Just Between Us is book #2 in the Just Us Series by Madison Wright
And you can bet I already got onto my Kindle Store an bought Just Go With It book #1.
This cover has fall written all over it! And it was a nice autumn time read!
Madison Wright has written a sweet, warm, and oh so cute story.
Being able to see what Camden and Ellie are thinking and feeling was great.
I loved the dual POV's and realling being inside their heads.
This was the absolute most wholesome and sweet story.
This book was just fabulous, and so endearing.
the romance streams through the book and you can’t help but fall for these two and put your whole heart into hoping they get it right.
Well written contemporary romance. And I'm looking forward to book three.

Tropes: strangers to lovers, forced proximity, forbidden love
This was a sweet slow-burn romance with all of the autumn feels. Ellie is the property manager of her family’s apartment complex and instantly hits it off with Cam, one of her new tenants. As getting involved with a tenant is off limits, Ellie and Cam spend the majority of the book fighting their growing feelings for one another.
While I enjoyed all of this books tropes, I did feel that it was a bit repetitive. Ellie and Cam got together only for Ellie to pull away multiple times throughout the book. Cam was a cinnamon role hero and I loved the growth he displayed when he finally put his foot down after Ellie’s constant back and forth. I wish the characters would’ve had better communication skills as that would’ve made this more enjoyable for me!
Thank you to Netgalley and Xpresso Book Tours for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This story was super cute!! Closed door romance but I honestly enjoyed it. I was rooting for Cam the whole time!!! He was such an enjoyable MC. It was just a very light and fun story and I truly enjoyed it!
This book is adorable and I love Cam and Ellie. I would actually like a Cam for myself, he's so sweet. I do wish that it was a bit longer and included parts when they were actually dating and public about it.
I received an arc through netgalley.
Just Between Us Madison Wright (Just Us: series) 4/5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I throughly enjoyed this novel. It was sweet and cozy and familiar in all the right ways. A huge factor for making romance novels a hit for me is having a relatable main character and having those ultra-sweet, ooey-gooey moments in the novel (some may not be a fan but I LIVE for those elements). Wright did both wonderfully. Ellie was relatable and sweet. Having a toxic relationship with your parents affects a lot of aspects of your life, including your love life. Ellie’s character was fairly well written, however, I wish we could’ve had a bit more depth to her character. I feel the only real elements of her character development was her undying need for her parent’s praise and approval and her selflessness when it comes to her residents and her friends. She could’ve been a bit more well rounded in my opinion, but overall she was a wonderful main character. I hope as Wright grows as an author, she will develop a more varied writing style. I found several phrases and descriptions throughout the novel that were repetitious and monotonous. I am immensely appreciative of one particular side character in her novel—Ethel. I adored Ethel. She’s spunky and hilarious. A much needed supporting character for this story. This is an element that most romance writers tend to neglect & I LOVED her so much.
Super cute! Very Sarah Adams-esque. Madison’s writing is polished and easy to binge. And Ellie and Cam were so sweet 🥹
I feel like the conflict made sense with the main characters’ motivations and fears, although the stakes didn’t feel very high.
Thank you Madison and NetGalley for the ARC ❤️
I’m a bit on the fence with this book. On one hand it was an enjoyable read, but with no spice and many repeated phrases, it just got on my nerves after a while. The cover is adorable. 3.5 ish stars
Men written by women are just superior. Camden is a sensitive, gentle, kind soul and I love him.
Ellie strikes gold when she meets him at a friends concert and they dance the night away.
Unfortunately for both of them,
the next time they meet it’s at the apartment Complex that Ellie’s parents own and she helps manage. He is moving in as a new tenant! But sadly there is a strict no fraternizing with the tenants policy, which throws cold water on the flame developing between Cam and Ellie.
being pulled by their strong connection and attraction, and a couple meddling mutual friends, the line continues to blur between Camden and Ellie.
They both want more, but she keeps pulling away, attempting to stay in her parents good graces.
Will the pressure break her? While she never feels she can live up to her parents expectations; always disappointing them and not fitting into the boxes they want her in, will she be able to resist the pull towards the one man that truly sees her and accepts her quirks and all?
Will he wait around for her to make up her mind?
Grab this book and find out!
3.5⭐This is one of those books that I really WANTED to like, so I kept trying (and failing) to get into it. I have a harder time connecting to both characters. Ellie struggles and constantly worries to win her parent's approval, and how awful they treat her, and there wasn't any resolution in the end, hard to read. This book gives you a cozy feeling...the cover is so cute, but I just felt frustrated with Ellie and Cam and the lack of communication, character development, repeated lines, and back and forth.
This was a very cozy cute book. If you are looking for a quick happy read this is the book for you! The forbidden love, the dual POV's, the autumn feels, and the witty banter makes for a great read. I also loved the relationship Ellie has with her bothers. They are always able to cheer her up so easily when things get rough. It made me think of my own family. Madison Wright did a great job with this book. I definitely recommend snuggling up this fall with your own copy!
Thank you to the Author, publisher, and NetGalley for the e-ARC
This book was so cute, it was the perfect time to read this especially during Autumn. This also had the forced proximity and forbidden romance trope, so a bonus.
