This is the last of the Twist of Fate series that is a modern take on the Pygmalion/My Fair Lady story. Tessa and Ford are in the same circle of friends but irritate each other. When Tessa needs help launching a sports area of her Company’s media division, she makes a deal with Ford that if he helps her, she will help him catch the eye of his coworker, Patricia. Ford has had the worst crush on Patricia for two years, but he has been friend zoned. Tessa helps him with a makeover, and also helps him by fake dating to make Patricia jealous, but both of their plans go awry when they start to catch feelings for each other. I really like Tessa, but Ford did drive me a bit crazy. So Ford has become obsessed with Patricia, and is convinced if he just gets a chance with each her, she will want to spend the rest of their lives together. He doesn’t really know her, but is “in love” with her. This is a very adolescent view of love. His relationship with Tessa develops slowly, and is based on actual mutual respect and friendship but he is willing to give that up for his unrealistic fantasy. This was a nice ending to this series. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
I loved Tessa, Chiara and Malia!
Tessa Harper liked doing makeovers for her viral advice column at Quench as the director of beauty and fashion. She volunteers to help frenemy Ford Maddox with a makeover so the woman that he works will move him out of the friend zone because Quench needs help with starting a sports division.
Sportscaster Ford Maddox had never moved on from wearing band t shirts since he hosted a radio talk show but he needs help from the one person that he didn’t really get along with Tessa Harper.
Tessa and Ford are so different from each other in personality and style that they are surprised when they actually start to become more than friends.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Gosh...Two completely mis-matched people. Tessa the make-over queen, who with her friends runs a multi-million dollar business, and Ford the sloppy sports centered radio host. When Ford asks Tessa to 'make him over' for the woman he thinks is his 'forever person', I almost gagged. How could she take this on? UGH...
I did push through and finish this book. In hindsight, I probably should have stopped about mid-way through. The story was just not what I thought it would be. I'm not sure if reading the first two books in the series would have helped.
Just not my cup of tea, but I know there will be people who love it! To each their own....
THisis a frenemies trope , involving Tessa and Maddox. Both are successful adults who need something from the other. As much as they hate each other their lives are intertwined.
For me the story was good. It had some slow parts as well as some parts i couldn'tput down. I didn't read all the books inth series and it can be read as a stand alone. I also liked it had another story within the story. I do recoomend reading it
Save the Best for Last by Jennifer Probst is the third book in the Twist of Fate series. This can definitely be read as a stand-alone as the story builds and develops so well. I was completely absorbed in Tessa and Ford’s enemy to lovers story. Throw in some fake dating and sports and this definitely made a great book. I really enjoyed all the drama and banter between the groups of friends. The dog birthday party was a fun addition to the story as well. I really enjoyed reading this addition to the series.
Thank you to Netgalley and Montlake for the arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I liked this book. Interesting characters but the story is mainly around Tessa, Ford and Patricia. Tessa does makeovers mostly for women for a blog, Ford is a frenemy who wants Patricia but she wants anyone else, so Tessa helps him improve his image, pretends to be his girlfriend to get Patricia to notice him. I don't think that Ford is cocky as much as he doesn't know how to relate to women.. It was interesting to see Ford evolve to reallize if Patricia was the one for him. Tessa and Ford did not get along at all, but during this process, they learned more about each other and grew closer. The extra characters were all fun and I hope there are more stories from Jennifer.
I got thus book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I found both Ford and Tessa interesting and complex characters. She is super driven yet so loving towards her close people, and invested so much in her special projects of helping other and her business, enough to open her mind and let Ford drag her into the sports world. She is kind, she is insightful, a truly special character. Ford is sweet and kind, so dedicated to his passion, his job and his volunteering work. He is a bit naïve, though, a bit with his head in the clouds. And both of them, in the beginning, take the insults a little to far. This is triggering material, while they don't care much about each other's insults, they are pretty hard. This is a truly strong enemy to lovers plot, not for the faint of heart, as much as the book is very sunny.

Tessa is the third owner in a successful female owned media company. She started the business with her best friends Rory, who has passed away, Chiara and Malia. Tessa focuses on beauty and has a following on her makeover column. When she takes a bet with fellow godparent Ford, he asks her to help him with a makeover to win over his attractive colleague. But things backfire when the two spend time together.

I read the ARC copies of the first two books in this series, and really enjoyed the “enemies to lovers” trope in this one. I love how as Ford and Tessa get to know each other better, their underlying personalities are revealed and are attractive to each other. Both are kind and caring and will do anything for their friends and loved ones. I loved the babysitting banter, rescue pet parties and the community spirit. It’s a goodie!
Completely mismatched!
I don't think I've ever read a romance with two people who were so obviously wrong for each other. Tessa is all high-end, well-dressed, well-organized, and rather high strung. Ford is as laid back as a lazy day at the ballpark, a frat boy in t-shirts and jeans, more than just a little scruffy around the edges. They have friends in common, and are both godparents to Chiara and Sebastian's daughter, but every one of their interactions is a battle on some level. Oh - and let's not forget, Ford is completely in love with another woman. One who has clearly friend-zoned him.
As it happens, she needs his sports expertise to help launch a new venture for Quench, and he decides he needs her makeover expertise to make him more appealing to the woman he wants. What ensues is a cleverly written dance of unexpected - and most assuredly unwelcome - attraction for them both, as well as a few surprises. Who knew Tessa would take to sports so quickly? Who knew there was a handsome hunk hiding under all that scruff? Who knew that their pointed barbs were really just foreplay?
As three-book series go, this one is nicely concluded with Ford and Tessa's spark-and-snark-filled romance. Better than the second book, almost as good as the first, it's a can't miss read for anyone who's become familiar with our Quench trio and the men in their lives. We not only get a delightful HEA for Ford and Tessa, but the author also gifts us with a solid HEA for a secondary couple whose romance has been slowly percolating throughout the entire series.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book for anyone who loves contemporary romances. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I loved this story but was a bit disappointed as well. In the beginning I liked Ford more than Tessa because he had that nerdy, sports guy, not quite grown up personality. Tessa makes him over and helps him grow up a bit, but never gets over the “love” he has for Patricia. He spends weeks with her and not Tessa, even after they had gotten intimately close, before he almost closing the deal, and then FINALLY realizing what was true? I’m glad they got to that place, but wish it didn’t take so long for him to get a clue.
Save the Best for Last is the third book in the Twist of Fate series. These could be read as stand-alone, but you'll likely get more out of the story reading them in order. This is a frenemy to more trope.
Let me start by saying this got off to a very slow start, and I ended up coming back to the book after a few days. Overall, the story did eventually pull me in, and you are going to find yourself rolling your eyes at times as the characters do the things they do.
Tessa Harper is a savvy businesswoman, she and her friends have built a media empire, but lately the normal makeovers she's so well known for aren't bringing her fulfillment. When asked to do something outside her comfort zone she grudgingly accepts. We all have that person that pushes all our buttons and somehow puts us on edge, that is Ford for Tessa. Yet when he challenges her to make him over so he can finally have a chance with "his one" she is reluctant but motivated by this new spin.
Ford Maddox is willing to try anything to finally get the attention of the woman he has loved for two years, even if he has to change himself to make it happen. He agrees to coach Tessa in all things sports to get her assistance. The idea of spending so much time with her grates at first, but after getting to know her it starts to become something he looks forward to. Not sure what to do with the feelings he's starting to have for someone he barely could be in the room with previously. And when others start to notice, maybe the line between love and hate is closer than you think. And the one meant for you is right in front of you.
4 ½ Stars for this enemies-to-friends romance!
I loved Ford and Tessa! I loved that Ford was just a regular guy who didn't have women falling at his feet. And Tessa made me laugh because she told it like she saw it ... no holds barred. The banter between Tessa and Ford was so realistic and I loved the situations they got into. This is my favorite book of this series!
Ford and Tessa can't stand to be in the same room and now that their best friends are married and have a baby, they are going to have to learn to put up with one another. Tessa is proud that she is somewhat of a matchmaker and she has boasted about her success online. She gives the woman a makeover so that they can snag the man of their dreams. Ford is just a regular guy, but he has been friend-zoned by the woman of his dreams. Tessa wants Ford to help her with a new podcast she is planning, so he decides to take advantage of her wanting a favor, so he'll ask for a favor from her. Ford want to put her skills to the test and have Tessa give him a makeover so he can land this woman. The more time Tessa and Ford spend together, the more they begin to like one another. They try their hardest to ignore the sparks that fly between them.
I received an early copy courtesy of Montlake through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
Save the Best for Last is the third book in the Twist of Fate series and while it is part of a series, it can certainly be read as a standalone without issue.
Tessa and Ford have the same friend group given their friends are coupled up, but the two of them aren't friends and really don't get along. When push comes to shove though, Ford enlists Tessa's professional help in the form of a makeover to help him win, Patricia, the woman of his dreams. Will things go the way he is expecting them to? Or will fate have a different plan in store?
I enjoyed the relationship that ultimately formed between Tessa and Ford. It was combative at first, moved to friends and then evolved further from there. I have to say I struggled with how much Ford wanted to be changed in order to fit what it was that Patricia was looking for. I'm in the camp that someone should like you for who you are and if that isn't the case, you shouldn't be changing yourself to fit into their world. I know in the end we got there, but it made me uncomfortable reading it.
I do enjoy Probst's books and while this one might not have been my favorite, I'm looking forward to what she offers us next!

This is the final instalment in the Twist of Fate Trilogy and it’s the perfect story to end the trilogy on. This is Tessa Harper and Ford Maddox’s enemies to lovers journey
Tessa is good at what she does at Quench as the makeover Queen of a self-care media empire but she also loves to challenge herself and when her female readership start to look more into the world of sports she decides it’s time to ask Ford a popular sportscaster for his expertise……
Ford is willing to help if she will give him something in return because he needs a makeover to help him win the woman of his dreams…..
A wonderful story to end the trilogy on with all the ladies from Quench finally getting their HEA. Save The Best For Last is an entertaining, enjoyable read with great characteristics and It’s a book I recommend to all romance.
This was my favorite from the Twist of Fate series. I’m not a sports fan but enjoy a good sports romance. If you like enemies to lovers then I recommend this one.
Tessa and Ford know each other mutually through friends but do not get along at all. Ford asks Tessa for help with a makeover so he can get the girl off his dreams but they end up falling for each other.
I liked this more than I thought I would! I might go back and check out the first two books in the series since their stories sounded interesting. A solid 4 star read!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to rate and review an ARC of this book.
3.5⭐️
Save the best had an amazing plot. I love how Tessa was the millionaire and how Ford had the average job, and how both of their jobs worked so well together when they found a way to create a sports podcast for women. So much of this book was original and new that I enjoyed reading Tessa and Ford’s story. Their slow burn was hot too especially in the little moments between them.
Meredith Grey’s pick me, choose me, love me speech was an inspiration point in the book towards the end that I wasn’t a huge fan of but it worked well for Tessa. There was a few times were I felt Ford was both poorly written and wonderfully written, he was childish but also very insightful but I don’t feel like his two sides worked well together. I also hated how Tessa originally saw sports and that whole stereotype that women discredit sports, while I know it’s real, I wasn’t a fan of seeing it how this book presented it, especially for a women who had worked hard and built an empire.
I try to stay away from negatively reviewing a book especially on personal preferences rather than the writing style or objective things, but I couldn’t get these thoughts out of my head while reading. I would still recommend this book because while I didn’t like those points, it didn’t ruin the story for me!
This book was just ok for me, nothing special nothing bad just ok. not really sure why but I was not really connecting to the story and characters as much as I do with other books.
I voluntarily received a free copy from NetGalley and all opinions are my own
I probably would not recommend this book to my family or friends

What a story! And so hard to rate!
This is the book featuring Tessa, the last one of the Quench girls that is still single. And Ford, a friend brought in their group by her friend's husband. Right from the beginning, they tease and poke at each other, sometimes throwing pretty big insults. Things change when Ford realizes Tessa has a gift for make overs and she can help him get the girl he thinks he loves. In return, she gets his help with the new sports section & podcast of her lifestyle website.
Jennifer Probst is the queen of matchmaking books and her style and wonderful talent is present here, too. This a slow burn, things heat up quite late but the sensual tension is wonderfully written. The book flows nicely, surprising at times, it keeps you on your toes, between sport games and family and friends and, of course, their adorable puppy squad.
The thing about this book, though - it's too real. There is a lot of complexity here, and a lot of a "real factor": most of the book the hero believes he loves another woman, while the heroine finds it hard to believe her attraction to such a guy, so different from her type. So there is a lot of confusion, a lot of second guessing. Which makes this story so far from the insta love, straight to the point romance, it's so sinuous that you even start to question whether there is going to be a happy ever after.
I loved the focus on women in sports, what a beautiful idea to bring into the book, and all the times men in this book were great supporters of women. I loved when girls got together and shared their precious life milestones, such an emotional scene! And Mike and Emma - finally! Not to mention Uncle Bart and his furry friends. As with all of Jennifer Probst's book, there is so much to love here.
All in all, it's a great book, if you can get over the "realness" of it.
I received a copy of this book in order to offer my view on it.
Save the Best for Last kept me page turning until the end. Tessa and Ford are strong characters in a classic enemies to lovers story. Tessa took the lead as a strong feminine character with a powerful job, good network of friends and being beautiful but successful love seems to elude her. Ford seems to clash with Tessa but also bring out the best in her.
