This was so cute! Truly such a wholesome and fluffy read. The Karma Map is a feel-good YA read, following our main characters Tara and Silas as they help lead a temple tour across India. Needless to say, they begin to fall for each other, in the cutest sunshine x grumpy way possible.
You might remember Tara from Radha and Jai's book - the mean-girl ex. I loved seeing her arc throughout this book, especially after having the knowledge of who she was in the other book. Silas, on the other hand, was a labrador through and through.
While the writing felt a little more juvenile (obviously, it's YA), I will always love how Nisha Sharma depicts our culture and this coming-of-age story was so sweet.
3.5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!
Nisha Sharma is one of my favorite authors because of her cute rom-com writing style, and this book was no different. While the setting and plot were something totally unique, I loved the banter between the characters, and how the characters tie into the other Sharma books. Overall, this was a really fun YA read.
A moving story of identity, family, friendship, and love! The Karma Map was a great wrap-up to the series set in the My So-Called Bollywood Life universe. I think all fans of Nisha Sharma will love Silas and Tara's grumpy x sunshine boy relationship and their individual journeys to find themselves on their youth trip to India. The queer rep in this book was also amazing and I hope that many queer and/or Indian diaspora readers see themselves in these pages. Overall, I'd give this 4.25 stars rounded up.
